Bickslow and Evergreen ran over excitedly. As the deadline approached, they had grown increasingly worried seeing neither of them return for a month.
Now, seeing Laxus return safe and sound after completing the mission, their suspended hearts finally relaxed.
Laxus scanned the room and didn't see Lucas or Erza. The corners of his mouth curled up slightly into a smile.
Only after going on this mission did he realize why his grandfather had always forbidden him from taking S-Class quests. He hadn't expected a quest with a reward of only 10 million Jewels to be this difficult.
He and Freed had searched the sea for half a month before finally finding the monster's lair in the depths.

Before Makarov could speak, Laxus mocked Lucas, "Back? So what if you're back? The sun has set, the exam time is over. You failed the S-Class promotion exam."

Laxus's words silenced everyone in the guild. They looked at him with weird expressions.
Bickslow and Evergreen hurriedly said, "Wait... Laxus... it's not like that!"
Laxus ignored them and continued staring at Lucas. "What's more, you even let your partner Erza die, yet you have the face to come back?! Lucas, if you have any shame, get out of the guild immediately!"
Just then, Erza's voice rang out. "What's wrong? What happened?"

"Erza?! You're alive?!"
Laxus's expression changed upon seeing Erza.

At this moment, Evergreen spoke up. "Lucas... and Erza completed their S-Class quest within a week of the exam starting, returned to the guild, and he was promoted to S-Class Mage."
Bickslow whispered, "Not only that. Lucas then took the other two S-Class quests one after another. He came back today, so he probably finished them all."
Laxus and Freed were stunned by Evergreen and Bickslow's words.
