Miyuki Uzumaki was in Qianyu's hospital room.

Though he was still unconscious, his mind was clear. He heard every single word Miyuki spoke.

He heard her declaration—her resolve. That she wouldn't care about what others thought. That she wanted to be friends with him, the one everyone shunned.

His small heart hammered wildly against his ribs.

Oh no.

This feeling…

Apart from the four happy years with his parents, Miyuki Uzumaki was the first person who had ever shown him genuine kindness.

If she had made a resolution like that… what reason did he have left to refuse?

His mind began to race, plotting the future.

Based on his understanding, to earn Witness Points, he had to witness important people and events in the shinobi world. Miyuki Uzumaki was one such crucial figure. After all, the future of this world would revolve around Naruto Uzumaki.

That meant, in the early stages, sticking close to Miyuki should net him a massive haul of Points.

But if his guess was correct, Miyuki had walked into a trap the moment she entered Konoha—a web of lies spun by the village itself.

If he was going to be her friend, he had to change her fate.

But then… if Miyuki didn't die, Naruto Uzumaki would never be born. He'd lose his biggest, most reliable source of Witness Points.

And those Points were the key to his survival, to establishing his footing in this world.

His original plan was simple: stay in Konoha temporarily, leave after the Nine-Tails' attack, then latch onto Naruto once he became a genin to farm Points.

Not an option anymore.

He needed a new plan. Leave Konoha early. Witness other events. Scrape up every single Point he could find.

There was another thing to consider: the Nine-Tails.

If Miyuki was willing to become its jinchūriki, fine. He wouldn't interfere.

But if she refused… he'd have to prepare.

He'd finally found a friend. Someone willing to be hated by everyone for his sake. He had to be worthy of that resolve.

[Attention, Host. The method of acquiring Witness Points is not solely dependent on you passively witnessing pre-determined future events.]

Qianyu was puzzled. "What do you mean?"

[Any event that significantly impacts the shinobi world can yield Witness Points. It is not limited to the 'important events' from your memories. For example, if you unilaterally declared war on Konoha now, you would earn zero Points. You lack the power to pose a real threat, and Konoha would not take you seriously. Therefore, it is not a qualifying 'event.']

[However, if you possessed sufficient strength, and Konoha perceived you as a major threat, the declaration would be judged as a world-impacting event. You would receive Points for initiating it. Furthermore, upon the event's conclusion, as a direct participant, you would receive a substantial secondary Points award.]

Qianyu's spirits soared. "You mean… I can create my own events to farm Points!?"

[That is a valid interpretation. However, a reminder: certain major events are destined to occur.]

His excitement vanished, replaced by grim understanding. "You mean… Naruto Uzumaki will be born."

[Correct. But the individual may not be the 'Naruto Uzumaki' from your memories.]

Qianyu mulled it over, whispering to himself. "So… 'Naruto Uzumaki' is a fixed role in history. Someone will fill it. It might not be Miyuki's child, but someone else's. And that person will do all the things the original Naruto was supposed to do. Right?"

[Your understanding is accurate.]

This… was actually good news.

He didn't need to orchestrate anything. The big plot points would happen on their own, delivering him a steady stream of Points.

His path forward was clear now. Build his strength step by step. Help Miyuki change her fate.

A weight lifted from his shoulders. The stagnant, predictable future was gone, replaced by something new, something he could shape. Something to look forward to.

Miyuki was still chatting away, telling him about her life over the past few days.

Somehow, everything she said tugged at his heartstrings.

When she mentioned a group of brats cornering her, trying to teach her a lesson, rage burned hot and sudden in his chest.

But when she described how she'd beaten them all until they begged for mercy, he felt a fierce, uncomplicated joy.

"Alright, Qianyu, it's really late. I should head back, or Granny Mito will worry." Miyuki's voice was soft. "I hope we meet at the Academy tomorrow, not the hospital. See you then."

After she left, Qianyu bid her a silent farewell in his mind. See you tomorrow, Miyuki.

He wanted to wake up. Now. To see her at the Academy tomorrow.

Maybe his desperate wish moved his body. A finger twitched.

He felt it. A jolt of pure elation shot through him.

He focused everything, every shred of will, on reclaiming control of his limbs.

The finger. Then a toe. An arm. A leg. His neck.

Sensation returned, piece by piece. Finally, he opened his eyes.

Harsh electric light stabbed at his vision. He squeezed his eyes shut again.

He took stock. His body ached, muscles sore and stiff. Not fully recovered yet.

When he opened his eyes again, a faint sound from the window caught his attention.

He turned his head. Outside, a tree branch swayed slightly.

"…Anbu."

His eyes darkened.

He'd known this was coming. The destruction he'd wrought in the forest with his Thunder Breathing sword forms was too flashy, too powerful for a student. Of course Hiruzen Sarutobi would take notice. Having Anbu watch him was expected.

He figured the Hokage would summon him for questioning after he was discharged, to explain the "methods" behind that devastation.

What he didn't expect was for Hiruzen Sarutobi to walk into his hospital room personally, barely thirty minutes later.

The sight of the Third Hokage standing at his bedside made Qianyu's brain stutter for a full second.

Sure, causing that level of destruction as an Academy student was… unusual. But was it really worth a personal visit from the Hokage himself? For someone the village largely ignored?
