Fugaku Uchiha almost exploded.

Qianyu had just
burned the two scrolls. Right in front of him.

Sure, they were copies. But they were still priceless.

The fire-style scroll contained the Uchiha clan's heritage, passed down for generations. The Great Fireball Technique, the Majestic Demolisher, the Blazing Dragon Song
all of it. Yes, the Great Fireball was common knowledge across the ninja world. But an Uchiha's Fireball and some random ninja's Fireball were worlds apart.

The real treasure was the other scroll—the one detailing the Sharingan's secrets. Meticulous notes on using the one-tomoe, the two-tomoe, the three-tomoe. For the Uchiha, it was an heirloom.

And this brat didn't just refuse it. He set it on fire.

This was a slap to the entire clan's face.

Fugaku's chest heaved. His glare burned into Qianyu.

Qianyu just leaned against the doorframe, a mocking expression on his face.

Fugaku took a deep breath. Another. Forced the rage down. His voice, when it came, was ice. "If you will not accept our clan's goodwill, then I have disturbed you for nothing."

He turned to leave.

Qianyu watched his retreating back. Interesting.

This Uchiha was
different. Most would have attacked by now. To be this calm after such an insult? And to come alone, representing the entire clan in an apology? His status wasn't low.

"Hey," Qianyu called out. "What's your name?"

Fugaku paused. "Uchiha
Fugaku." He said his name, then walked away, never looking back.

A smirk tugged at Qianyu's lips.

Fugaku Uchiha. Future clan head. Father of Itachi and Sasuke.

The mockery in his eyes deepened. "What fine sons you raised."

In Qianyu's eyes, Itachi Uchiha's future massacre was no act of justice.

Choosing to sacrifice the few to protect the many? It sounded noble. But Itachi's target wasn't some abstract 'few.'

It was his clan. His blood.

Itachi, loyal to the Leaf. The Uchiha, planning a coup. Choosing 'the Will of Fire' over his family might be justice for Konoha. But for the Uchiha? For the clansmen who trusted him, who waited for him to fight for their future? He was a traitor.

A sin.

The bond of blood made that sin all the more vile.

If Itachi had only killed the conspirators, or even killed Sasuke along with them, Qianyu might have respected the ruthless logic. A clean, horrific cut.

But he didn't.

He partnered with Obito Uchiha. Men, women, children. All of them.

A member of the Uchiha, choosing to exterminate his own bloodline.

He spared Sasuke not to preserve the clan, but because he couldn't bear to see his beloved little brother die. His one condition after the slaughter? Spare Sasuke. In exchange, he'd spy for the Leaf.

That single condition turned the entire 'noble sacrifice' into a farce.

To Qianyu, Itachi was a brainwashed fool, a hypocrite blindly loyal to a village that used him. His actions weren't justice. They were the desperate moves of a pawn who convinced himself he was a king.

A hopeless clan. They don't need enemies to destroy them.

But Sasuke
 heh. He might be interesting.

Just as Qianyu turned to head back to the training ground, a voice cut through the quiet.

"Quite the performance, Qianyu."

Qianyu glanced over. Orochimaru leaned against a tree, a faint smile on his face.

Qianyu grinned back. "When they hand you a gift, you take it. Uchiha fire techniques and Sharingan insights? Very useful."

Two scrolls reappeared in his hand.

The ones he'd burned were just blank scrolls from his pouch. The moment Fugaku turned to leave, Qianyu had swapped them. A flicker of high-temperature lightning chakra ignited the fakes the instant Fugaku looked away. A perfect illusion of utter disrespect.

Orochimaru crossed his arms, walking closer. "You aren't worried they'll seek revenge?"

Qianyu tucked the real scrolls away, his smile brilliant. "Not at all. I have you, sensei. Besides
Fugaku Uchiha, representing his entire clan, came to apologize to me. That means the Uchiha are desperate. They want a connection. To you."

A soft chuckle. "Your perception is sharp. But what you mean is, they want to invest in your future. To establish a link with the Hokage, through his student."

"I never said that, sensei." Qianyu's grin was pure innocence.

Orochimaru didn't press it. He headed for the underground base. "Come. I'm busy. Today, I will take you to form your contract with Ryƫchi Cave and design your training regimen. After that, I will be absent for some time."

They entered the office.

Orochimaru began the lesson. "The Summoning Jutsu is a space-time ninjutsu. It requires a blood contract with the summoning animal. Blood is the medium—it tells the creature who is calling. The contractor leaves a blood seal on the contract. Once verified, the creature can be summoned. Therefore, you must coat your hand in blood, focusing both chakra and blood into the palm that signed the contract. This forms the calling link."

"Next, the hand signs. Boar. Dog. Bird. Monkey. Ram. The strength of the creature you summon depends on the amount of chakra you expend. More chakra, greater summons."

"That is the theory. Now, watch."

Orochimaru bit his thumb. Blood streaked across his right palm. His hands flew through the seals.

"Summoning Jutsu!"

A puff of smoke erupted. As it cleared, a large, blue-scaled serpent lay coiled, its vertical slitted eyes regarding Qianyu coolly.
