Chapter 1 - the white room

Two people are dropped through an opening in the ceiling.

They fall violently, hitting the floor at the exact same moment—

before the opening snaps shut above them with a sharp, metallic sound.

The first groans, pressing a hand to his head.

His body is stiff, his head spinning, yet he forces himself to sit up.

In a broken voice, he says:

"W-What… what happened?"

The other had fallen flat on his back.

He exhales harshly, as if the air was forced out of his lungs, then mutters in irritation:

"Damn it…"

The first lifts his head, staring at the other man with narrowed eyes while still seated.

He asks:

"Do I know you?… And what are we doing here?"

The second sits up as well. He looks at the first, then shakes his head while scanning the room.

"No. You don't know me, and I don't know you. And I don't know why you're here either… nor why I am."

The first rises slowly, stretching his back as if trying to regain his balance.

He speaks thoughtfully:

"Neither of us knows anything. Not just where we are… I don't think I remember much about myself at all. Most of my memories… are blurred."

The second remains seated.

His gaze circles every corner, searching for anything—

but nothing changes. A completely white room. Walls, floor, ceiling. No openings.

Finally, he says:

"Yeah… we're trapped."

The first looks at him again, narrowing his eyes slightly before speaking:

"I don't want to accuse without reason, but… do you have anything to do with this? Because I can't find any explanation—except some ridiculous story about aliens experimenting on humans… and I don't need to say how unlikely that is."

The second's tone shifts suddenly, defensive and sharp with disbelief:

"What?! You're accusing me just because you're empty-headed right now?"

He falls silent for a moment, staring at one corner of the room as if thinking.

Then he says:

"Maybe you're not entirely wrong… but at the very least, you don't have a better explanation either."

He exhales in annoyance and adds:

"I told you—no."

The first nods calmly, his voice steady:

"I just thought the fall might have affected you."

He turns his gaze around the room, resting a hand on his side, and continues:

"So we don't have a choice. We'll have to see what we can do."

His irritation is clear, yet he keeps his emotions completely under control.

The second finally stands, sighing as he brushes dust from his clothes:

"There isn't much in an empty, sealed room… but there's always a way out, right?"

The first lets out a quiet sound through closed lips—something close to agreement—as he looks up at the ceiling:

"You're right… and maybe we can try something if we work together."

He smiles faintly.

The second looks at him with confusion.

The next moment finds them attempting the idea:

the second standing on the first's shoulders, while the first struggles to keep his balance.

The second stretches his body upward, reaching for where the opening had been.

He extends his finger as far as he can—barely touching the ceiling—

then he loses balance.

He falls backward, dragging the first down with him.

Lying flat, the first mutters:

"Bad idea… but one of the few that came to mind."

The second replies with clear sarcasm, his emotions evident in his voice:

"Yeah, yeah… you were trying to find a solution because you think and all that."
