JOSHUA
I never thought I'd meet her again. I never expected..to hear her voice in my head again, just at the entrance of Sunntown High.... desperately calling for help.
I couldn't explain why....I was the only one who could hear her voice, why she was the person.....whose mind I could read so easily...but at the same time, the only person whose memories I couldn't erase.
She's just human.
But an extraordinary human.
I could feel her pain that moment, my heart ached... seeing her hurt.
Something that never happened before the past years...the Midnight Circle always does this to the new human students...I couldn't care less who they bullied, or even killed,but this time..I couldn't handle it.
But why? Maybe I like her, I've liked her since the night I first saw her on the cliff... but werewolves only like their mates in that kind of way..... seeing them in the way nobody else can.Desperate to put everything on the line, even lay down their lives just to protect their mates, like I want to protect Skylar.
I had my doubts before, but now I'm sure.
Maybe it's possible that werewolves can mate with humans, and Skylar... she is my mate.

MUSIC ROOM
"No way!! You think your mate is a human and you're telling me this now!" Luke, Joshua's beta snapped at him.
They were alone in the music room... skipping class, like they always did.
It was sound proof and no one could hear their conversation...nor could they hear what was happening outside.
"I don't think, I know she's my mate" Joshua replied.
"Is it really possible for our Luna to be a human, a mere human who doesn't even posses any abilities...Alpha Josh, you might have it wrong" Luke said.
"And besides you hate humans, you said they're all the same...so what changed about this girl?" Luke added.
"She's an exception...I don't know why but I feel so attracted to her, I like her...I can't erase her memories.....and I can read her mind, I can hear her thoughts and I can feel her pain,we have a mind link" Josh replied.
"Isn't that the same thing happening to you and my sister?" He continued to ask.
"I mean it is, but Josh, the midnight circle won't let her off easily....she doesn't even know that she's your mate and that you're a werewolf" Luke said.
"I don't want her to know yet, but I know she'll eventually find out.....and I'll deal with the circle, this should stay between us Luke.. I'm trusting you"Josh replied.
"You can trust me Josh...so tell me, what is your Luna like?" Luke asked, before Joshua got a flashback of what happened a few hours ago.
FLASHBACK
"This is classroom 5" Joshua said, as soon as they were at the entrance of her classroom.
"Thank you" she whispered as he finally let go of her hand.
Skylar tried to by pass him, and enter, but he blocked her way with his body... leaning in again.
"Skylar, if you ever need anything...don't hesitate to ask me...I'll be here when you need me"he said.
"But we've just met, you don't need to worry about me...I can take care of myself" Skylar replied before she walked away from him.
Joshua was even more amazed, she was the first girl, out of the countless girls trying to get his attention...who actually turned down his offer.
She was honest....he could feel she didn't want to bother him.
Skylar
He couldn't get over her name. She was a force to be reckoned with. He smirked, watching her walk away from him.
END OF FLASHBACK
"She's very pretty...and a pure innocent soul.. she's captivating" Joshua replied.
"She's honest and I like honest people....when I held her hand for the first time...I didn't want to let go, my wolf wouldn't let me either..she's really something else...."Joshua felt like he knew her for the longest time... even though they'd just met days ago.
"Bro, my entire time with you.... I've never heard you praise someone like that.....have you already completely fallen for her!"Luke exclaimed.
"Is it wrong to fall for her? This feeling I've never had all my life, I feel it for her" Josh replied.
"Then I can't wait to meet the new Luna queen...the one who could melt your cold attitude towards humans"Luke said.

Meanwhile
Classroom 5
"Look what we have here, are you sure you're not in the wrong class newbie!" Zoey snapped at Skylar as soon as she saw her.
Apparently, they were sharing the same class but Joshua was in another class, Classroom 4.
"This is my class....I didn't make any mistake" Skylar replied head on.
A teacher was present in front of the class but Zoey couldn't care less....
"The audacity for a mere human like you to talk back! I should teach you a lesson" Zoey said.
At this point, the entire classroom had their eyes on them.... including the teacher who couldn't do anything about it.
The midnight circle owned the school, it was their turf...the werewolves could do anything they wanted and not even Principal Olivia could stop them.
"Leave me alone Zoey, I don't want any trouble" Skylar replied, keeping as calm as she could.... avoiding any eye contact.
She knew no one in the school, Hayley was probably in another section of the school and she wouldn't dare to help her...she also didn't want to bother Joshua.
"You are the trouble, trying to take away what's mine.....Josh" Zoey said, slamming her fists on her desk... shaking her up a little.
The strength she had in her hands, her table even got a crack.
Josh?
"I have nothing to do with him" Skylar replied.
"Ofcourse that's what you'd say....but I won't let you have your way" Zoey said, before she pulled her from her seat and dragged her outside.

Instead of the locker room, this time she took her to the roof top where her other werewolf friends were already waiting..and no one dared to stop her.
The grip on her hand was tight, Skylar couldn't set herself free.
"Here she is guys!" Zoey threw her in the middle while they surrounded her...and tied her hands behind her back.
All the while, she just kept silent.
"Pitiful human, why don't we just throw her off the roof and get rid of her already!" Zoey said.
"I doubt she'll survive, she isn't a werewolf like us, she's weak... she'll die right away, just like the rest" Kate added.
"So these guys really are werewolves"
"I'm sure Alpha Josh won't mind if we do kill her, we'll save him from this whore trying to lure him with her good looks...I must say she is really pretty!" Zoey exclaimed, using her sharp werewolf claws to touch Sky's face.
She completely envied her, she was too stunning and had a pretty face.
"Alpha Josh! so Josh and Joshua..the guy from earlier are the same, he's a werewolf...
and he's the one who helped me in the woods"
"No one's coming to save you this time, no one can hear you scream from way up here, not even my Alpha"Zoey continued to say, almost piercing her claws through her neck.
"We are the Midnight Circle, and we are not afraid of anyone, especially mere humans like you...." Zoey whispered....before grabbing her hair and dragging her to the edge of the building.
She wanted to throw her off.
"Say your last words little human, because today will be your last day on earth"Zoey said while the rest laughed at Skylar.
Skylar almost fainted at the sight of the building's height, if they threw her off...she wasn't going to survive.
They'd ganged up on her and there was no way she could escape.
But Skylar had experience dealing with bullies, the Midnight Circle was no different, aside from the fact that they are werewolves...with super strength.
"Please let me go! Please!" She pretended to beg.
"How ridiculous! She's no different from the rest"Zoey replied and they all laughed at her...but she cut her off.
"Was that what you expected me to say....to beg!" Skylar said before she untied herself and turned to face them.
"Impossible, how can this be!"The midnight circle were surprised.
Zoey immediately backed away from her, it was the first time a human had escaped her trap.
"I thought being werewolves would make you a bit different from my kind, but you're all the same... using the same cheap tricks to bully" Skylar spoke and she took slow footsteps towards them and away from the edge.
"Who are you really? You dare to insult us like this!" Zoey almost hit her but she dodged it.
Instead, she grabbed her arm and pinned it against her own back.... making Zoey look like some kind of joke in front of her so called mighty group.
"Have my step dad to thank for that! I've always wanted to do this"
"Let go of me!" Zoey struggled against her, Skylar had her own strength too.
Yet she looked so calm and weak.
The others stepped back....if Skylar could manhandle their leader like that, what about them.
"I really pity creatures like you.....you guys really have nothing good to do with your lives...but pick on people like me" Skylar said, loud enough for all of them to hear.
"Well, unlike you...I want to complete my studies and do things that actually matter in life..."she added before she pushed Zoey aside.
"I'll say this again, I don't want trouble...so just leave me alone" Skylar finalized before she walked away and left them speechless.
This same scene was watched by Joshua and Luke who had arrived a while back... hiding at a distance.
They'd left the music room and heard about Zoey taking Skylar to the roof top...so they rushed thinking she was in trouble...but Skylar didn't need help.
She could take care of herself like she told him..... fighting the Midnight Circle all by herself, something nobody else could do...made Joshua see her as a capable Luna.
He adored her even more.
"So that's her.... amazing, at least she'll be enough to handle the Alpha" Luke thought to himself.
"We should go"Joshua suddenly said..... wanting to avoid Zoey's group and chase after Skylar.
But to his luck....
"Alpha Josh, you're here?" Zoey had already spotted him.
"Zoey, I already warned you to stay away from Skylar.....are you and your little group now defying my orders!" Josh said in a cold tone.
He was angry at the Circle ... and they all knew his fury. They immediately fell to their knees.... bowing their heads.
"Forgive us Alpha Josh, we didn't want to be part of this ..but Zoey forced us" Kate spoke on behalf of the rest.
"Traitor!" Zoey snapped at her.
"Alpha Josh, I was only protecting the pack, for all we know..... that human girl might have other motives trying to approach you" Zoey added.
"I thought it'd be obvious by now, she wants nothing to do with me, but I choose to keep her around"Josh replied.
"But you hate humans.... what's so special about her?" Zoey asked the obvious question.
But Josh simply bent down and grabbed her by her neck.
"What I choose to do.....does not concern you....you're not my Luna and you'll never be, if you lay a finger in Skylar again or do things without my permission, you'll have to answer to me....the hard way" Joshua said before tossing her aside, just like Skylar did before and walked away.....Luke following behind him.
Zoey was completely embarrassed twice, by Sky and by Josh....she always dreamt of becoming Joshua's Luna, but today he made it very clear....she wasn't and will never be his Luna.
Her love for him clearly meant nothing to him, it didn't matter before, not today...not ever.
Turned out, she was the pitiful one, instead of Skylar.
