"By time." On the 10,000th floor, Zenryu stood overlooking a vast sea of undead. So many stretched out before him, in fact, that if this were on Earth, the whole universe would run out of room to fit them all. But they were not important right now. It was time for him to do his first major trial.
What was a major trial? Well, as one has noticed, every five levels brought a reward, with every ten levels bringing higher rewards. This was because these were milestones. So, with level 100 met—a major milestone—the possible rewards one could get from the system were far greater than the level 50 rewards.
Normally, people who had done five stars and the few who had done four stars would look forward to this, as they could get Extreme grade rewards. But since Zenryu had done six stars every single time without fail, he was sure he could get something above Extreme Grade.
So, he hit the button and took on his six-star trial... and he was left speechless as he found himself standing before a copy of himself. An exact replica, down to every last detail.
"Looks like they recreated you with all of your skills and capabilities," Raphael said after scanning the clone of Zenryu. At this, Zenryu grinned. Without a thought, he disappeared and clashed with his clone.
They were equal in strength, speed, and even combat skills. Zenryu grew stronger with every injury? So did this clone. Zenryu saw the future? So did this clone. The clone even had its own Raphael, Ultra Ego, Instinct, and everything else he possessed... but Zenryu's mind was special.
The trial could recreate everything about him, but it couldn't recreate his mind, which worked faster than Raphael's ever could. So, with a flash of movement, Zenryu avoided a blow from his clone, causing the clone's eyes to widen in surprise before Zenryu's fist connected with its stomach.
If one looked deeply enough, they would see that Zenryu's attack wasn't aimed at the stomach itself, but at an orb that existed beyond the physical, spiritual, and even mental world. That orb was the Source—the deepest level of a person, their very concept. It held everything about a person, and naturally, without it, one couldn't exist.
Zenryu's attack had damaged the Source, all without the need for any magical power or the like. Just his normal attacks had reached a point where they were conceptual in nature.
Zenryu didn't follow up with another attack. He just watched his copy heal, grow stronger, and then charge at him once more. Zenryu easily handled everything it threw at him. He was pretty much fighting Raphael... so naturally Raphael wasn't remotely close to matching him. He wasn't Rimuru, who was greatly weakened without Raphael or Ciel. Zenryu was just lazy and had Raphael do everything for him.
Plus, Raphael liked doing everything, as it felt useless otherwise.
"That's about everything," Zenryu said calmly, piercing through his copy's chest and destroying the Source, ending his copy for good. The clone's body went still before fading away into nothing. Zenryu had simply used his copy to see if he had any flaws he needed to work on, and his copy had served as a good tool for that purpose.
[Another perfect score... congratulations.]
The notification that appeared gave off a strange feeling, as if whoever or whatever was behind it was shocked by what they had just witnessed. This made Zenryu's eyebrow raise in curiosity, but he ignored it and went on to look at his rewards.
[You have been rewarded the chance to get two Beyond Extreme rewards.]
Now, what could be Beyond Extreme? I'm happy you asked. From the list laid out before Zenryu, he saw many such Beyond Extreme abilities. From Rimuru's Ultimate Slime Bloodline to something as overpowered as Holopsicon, every ability was here... well, not every ability was here.
Abilities on the level of The Power of the Pencil were not present. Zenryu also couldn't find Instant Death, Wonder of U, and many more powers and abilities. By the way, he could get six abilities total.
"But Endless Nine is here," Zenryu said calmly, his eyes scanning the list.
"Maybe it's because it has the flaw that one needs 100% denial in order for it to work," Raphael said. Zenryu nodded at that. Endless Nine gave a person complete immunity to everything supernatural, so long as they had 100% denial of the supernatural. And by denial, it meant complete rejection that it was real.
It was so powerful that it could even defend the user against The Power of the Pencil, although it was an avatar using that ability at the time... but still, that was impressive.
"Should I get Ciel, and then name you?" Zenryu asked calmly. Ciel was also one of the abilities he could pick from the list.
"Yes. I would fuse with my upgraded version, then you can name me," Raphael said, a hint of excitement slipping into the usually calm voice. Unable to wait to become powerful enough to actually be on the level of Zenryu, who was honestly a freak of nature. With all of the bloodlines he had been collecting, Zenryu's talent was skyrocketing far beyond what should be possible.
If Raphael could create one ability a second, Zenryu could make over a thousand without even trying. That was without him using any ability to speed up his mind or anything of the sort. Zenryu was a freak of nature, and the only thing holding him back was Raphael.
"Alright. Ciel, Ultimate Slime Bloodline, Endless Nine, Irreversible Destruction, Subjective Immunity... what else..." Zenryu paused, considering his options. "How about the Boosted Gear? Or should I get Divine Dividing?" He frowned as he weighed the choices. In the end, he went for Boosted Gear.
So, with that decided, Zenryu went on to name Raphael... well, Raphael was now Ciel after the fusion. But what was a good name for Ciel?
"Let's go with Jarvis," Zenryu said with a nod, proud of the name he had chosen.
[Your ability, Ciel, has evolved to the ability Jarvis. These are three of its main abilities:]
[Analysis Expert] — An ability that allows the user to analyze their surroundings down to the most minute details, and thus allows both you and Jarvis to make a plan according to the results of the analysis.
[Skill Synthesis] — An ability that allows Jarvis to combine other skills to create a stronger skill as a result. It can take one skill and fuse it with itself as many times as needed to make stronger versions.
[Skill Promotion] — An ability that lets you strengthen yourself and your allies by evolving their skills to a higher level.
[Growth] — Jarvis is capable of improving. Her capability shall only expand over time.
At first, these skills looked simple... but in the blink of an eye, Jarvis took everything he had, copied it an infinite number of times over, and began doing countless fusions. The process was instant and overwhelming. Jarvis made Zenryu feel like he was going to explode from the sheer power flooding into him. Jarvis had to slow down, as the rate of growth was something Zenryu's body couldn't keep up with.
"The fact that I can make copies of my abilities and just fuse said ability with itself is a bit overpowered," Zenryu said while making a clone for Jarvis, who appeared next to him. Jarvis took form, appearing as a black-haired woman with blank eyes, still getting used to the whole emotions thing.
"Want to see who's stronger?" Jarvis asked. Zenryu frowned for a good long second before shaking his head.
"I know I would win. I just don't want to go berserk," Zenryu said, for he was a Legendary Super Saiyan. If he fought Jarvis, he knew he would win, but that battle would cloud his mind and sense of reason, making him lose control.
"True." Jarvis nodded. Yes, Zenryu would win, for he had yet to even tap into a fragment of his true potential. Once he draws that out, once his blood starts pumping, once the thrill of battle kicks in, Zenryu's growth speed could skyrocket even without the transformation or any unawakened ability. Just the buff his mind would experience would be enough to match hers.
Anyway, the two wasted no time and went on to head to higher floors... well, one could guess just how overpowered they were. Nothing they came across was ready to deal with them. In no time, they reached floor 150,000, then floor 500,000, then 10 million, and the floors just kept going up and up.
They were passing by floors faster and faster. Notifications spread across the tower as they cleared floors of all their treasures far too fast for the tower to even announce. One instant, they were on one floor, just for them to collect everything on that floor and move on to the next, and the next, and so on.
It was too fast, leaving everyone wondering if the tower was glitching. To make things crazier, somehow they were getting faster and faster at a rate that wasn't slowing down in the slightest, but instead going up.

On the final floor of the tower, Zenryu could be seen fighting a massive dragon. The size of this dragon was the size of a mountain. Zenryu, ignoring the massive height difference, flashed to the side, avoiding its dragon breath, which shot past him and destroyed a mountain in the distance.
Don't look at the fact that it only destroyed a mountain as a sign of that dragon's breath being weak. This was floor infinity. Just cutting down a tree here was infinitely greater than destroying any floor that came before it.
"Not bad. Even I'm not yet strong enough to destroy a mountain here," Zenryu said with a grin as he appeared before the dragon and slammed his fist into its stomach. With the massive size gap, this didn't look like a big deal... but the Source of this dragon suddenly shattered, disappearing from existence. Along with it, the dragon's body faded as if it had never existed at all.
"Oh?" Zenryu's eyebrow raised as he was sent rocketing away, his own Source clawed into thousands of pieces. The fragments began to disappear, but at a rate faster than they could vanish, his Source reformed. Zenryu steadied himself and looked at the massive dragon, which had returned from the complete erasure of its Source.
"You have impressive regeneration," the Dragon said, its voice rumbling through the air as it observed how fast Zenryu's Source had recovered. It possessed regeneration negation, yet Zenryu outright ignored that. Zenryu had all types of regeneration and immortality negations himself, but the dragon's wasn't powerful enough to negate his capability.
The dragon roared, causing Zenryu to look towards the heavens, where a massive magic circle appeared and began to glow. With a flash, a massive beam rained down from above and landed right on top of Zenryu's head, birthing a massive explosion that erased nearby mountains entirely.
The Dragon breathed heavily, sensing how Zenryu's Source had disappeared. Hit with that attack, and not even bothering to dodge or anything like it. It had sensed his Source return to the nothingness it had originated from.
But the Dragon's eyes widened as Zenryu walked through the fires and destruction like it was nothing. His Source was destroyed, reflecting in how his body and soul were all gone, yet healing, walking out as if nothing had happened.
"Impossible!" The Dragon roared, for it had sensed Zenryu's Source disappear entirely. How could his Source reform from such destruction? Even it couldn't pull something like that off, for that last attack was enough to kill even itself, as the negation capability of that last spell was enough to over come it's own regeneration and immortality.
"There are sources deeper than other sources. Let's call it a source of a source. The concepts of concepts, the concept of said concept, and so on and so on. Infinite layers of sources that make up the source of our existence." Zenryu said with a calm smile.
What Zenryu was saying was simple. Let's give the layers of the Source levels. How do you kill a person who can reform after their Source is destroyed? Simple—aim for a deeper layer of the Source, one so deep that the person simply can't heal from it. This is how one negates a person's regeneration capability and even immortality.
Of course, Zenryu's regeneration capability wasn't originally this good. What he did was simply copy the Dragon's regeneration capability and push it to a deeper layer. Naturally, the Dragon could destroy his Source using that attack. Zenryu would simply heal from it anyway.
Hell, seeing the attack only boosted his capability to regenerate to even deeper levels on top of everything else. Zenryu was simply that powerful, as the more information he obtained, the more he evolved. Thanks to him instantly seeing and understanding everything, he didn't even need Jarvis for this. It was all subconscious work for Zenryu.
The Dragon roared, unwilling to accept this outcome. It launched attack after attack at Zenryu, and for the first time in this battle, Zenryu defended himself... and the dragon found the attacks it threw out being broken apart. The more it attacked, the more all of its attacks became broken until they couldn't be used anymore.
