Chapter 39 - Chapter 39 Zhou Yi, Mu Jin, and Su Wen followed Elder Gong to the referee's table.

The two class teachers arrived late.

As homeroom teachers, they had to guide their respective classes into the Great Arena for trials in an orderly manner.

Due to limited space, only two classes could be accommodated at a time for the second-year assessment.

But coincidentally the two teachers in charge, an elderly woman with gray hair, met the gaze of a young and beautiful woman beside her with sharp eyes, sparks flying like needles clashing against wheat awns.

Su Wen's expression was strange.

Could it be Zhou Yi and Mu Jin?

Hmm it seems so.

Shrek Academy's outer court teachers don't serve as homeroom teachers consecutively; they usually take a break between classes, and he had a break between this class and his...

"Teacher Zhou Yi, the quality of your class seems a bit low. Don't end up with none left after all the selection."

Mu Jin chuckled, her face full of mockery as she looked at Zhou Yi.

"Take care of your class first," Zhou Yi said expressionlessly.

"It'll be interesting if our class surpasses our average and highest scores."

"Our class's Xiao Yan is a level 32 offensive-type Soul Master.

His Martial Soul is said to be traced back to the ancient Zhu Yan.

His talent is top-notch, unmatched in the entire grade.

With your few mediocre students, you think you can surpass his score? Heh..." Mu Jin said arrogantly.

"Hmph!" Zhou Yi's face turned somewhat ugly.

Despite her words, her class indeed had no outstanding students.

The highest-ranking student was only a level 27 Great Soul Master.

A bunch of useless trash.

Her nails clenched into her palms as she glared fiercely at her class, plotting to add more training or something.

  "..."

But just as she turned her head, she saw a child sitting next to the judges' seats, and she immediately became furious.

"Sigh, kid, don't you understand respecting your teachers? None of us teachers have even sat down yet, who gave you permission to sit? Which class are you in first grade? What's your homeroom teacher's name?" Su

Wen looked bewildered.

Damn, is this menopause? Does he even want to kick a passing dog?

"Are you calling me?" Su Wen raised an eyebrow.

"Nonsense, who else could it be but you here! If you're not going to cultivate properly in first grade, who brought you here!"

Elder Gong had to leave temporarily.

So Su Wen seemed to have been brought to watch the competition by some "teacher," perhaps their child.

Among the outer court teachers present, Zhou Yi was genuinely not afraid of many, since her husband was the head of the Soul Guidance Department and had a strong chance of advancing to the position of vice dean.

A female teacher tugged at Zhou Yi's sleeve.

She had personally witnessed Su Wen chatting and laughing with Elder Gong.

This kid's identity was definitely not simple!

"Zhou Yi, if you want to throw a tantrum, go to your own class. Don't bark at everyone you see."

Su Wen stretched and said calmly.

He could never go to this women's class.

If he were to go, it would be the Hibiscus Class.

  "..."

The entire room fell silent.

Zhou Yi's face gradually turned a deep purplish-red.

Her fiery temper almost made her attack Su Wen.

Gritting her teeth, she said, word by word, "I won't argue with you, but who are your parents! Step forward! I want to see who brought this little beast who was raised but not taught!"

"I brought him, so what?"

A lazy voice sounded from behind.

A gray-haired old man slowly walked over, his eyes scanning Zhou Yi up and down: "This woman from Fan Yu, how could she be like this..."

When Zhou Yi saw that it was Elder Gong, her pupils suddenly contracted.

Elder Gong was the person in charge of the Great Beast Arena.

His strength had advanced to the Title Douluo level many years ago, and he had a very high status in the academy.

He was just one step away from becoming a senior elder, but he loved cultivating soul beasts, so he retired to the Great Beast Arena.

He used to ignore her, so she could only give an awkward smile.

Even if Fan Yuzhen became the vice dean of the Soul Guidance Department, he couldn't just mess with this guy.

Meanwhile, Elder Gong glanced at Su Wen and, seeing that the latter showed no sign of turning away, breathed a sigh of relief.

If this kid left, who would help him teach these freshmen a lesson?

Every year, there are always one or two troublemakers who think they can "prove their Dao" by killing one or two soul beasts, ending up covered in blood and thinking they're incredibly cool.

Although they'll likely offer compensation afterward, how easy is it to raise a thousand-year-old soul beast?

This year, that kid called Xiaoyan just looking at him makes him furious.

He has a bloodthirsty aura, probably from battles or fighting soul beasts.

Judging from his excited eyes, any soul beast that fights him is likely to meet its doom, especially a thousand-year-old one.

Sending out a soul beast that's too strong might hurt him, while a weak one is just suicide. He's got a real headache.

But now there's Su Wen!

This kid has three soul beasts, all far superior to others of the same level, and they're obedient and won't fight recklessly.

Giving these arrogant brats a lesson is perfect.

And this Zhou Yi actually wants to chase away his treasures!

"You can get lost! He can't leave." Old Gong glanced sideways.

"Don't think you can act all high and mighty just because you have Fan Yu. This Martial Soul Department's outer court isn't your place to be in charge, Zhou Yi!"

  "..."

Zhou Yi's face turned red, but she didn't dare utter a word.

Call her a bully if you want, but Old Gong was definitely not someone she could mess with.

The Great Beast Arena was a mandatory part of the second-year freshmen's assessment.

If she offended this guy and he made things difficult for her, then all the classes she would lead in the future would likely be at the bottom of the rankings in this assessment.

Su Wen ignored her and chatted casually with Old Gong.

Many of the assessment teachers around looked surprised and secretly cast curious glances at Su Wen.

Mu Jin was even more astonished. This young man didn't seem like Old Gong's junior, but more like a close friend despite the age gap!

Just who was he?!

  ...

"I, I choose a three-hundred-year-old soul beast!"

In the center of the arena,a boy from Zhou Yi's class spoke up.

"What department?" The referee nodded, noting something.

"A power-attack type!" the boy exclaimed nervously.

The referee glanced at him.

Facing a spirit beast head-on, most people were nervous.

For a level 23 Great Spirit Master to choose a spirit beast of similar strength was already quite brave.

"Ready, release!"

As the referee left the arena,a huge gate on the other side slowly opened, and an armored rhinoceros slowly walked out.

The entire arena fell silent.

Watching the show was certainly exciting, but if it were your turn next, you wouldn't be laughing.

Su Wen looked down at the boy fighting the armored rhinoceros.

Although the armored rhinoceros had amazing defense, its speed wasn't particularly fast, and the boy was also an agility-attack type spirit master.

He kept kiting the armored rhinoceros until it collapsed from exhaustion before delivering a finishing blow.

"Huff, huff."

The boy panted heavily, his eyes filled with excitement.

His fear of spirit beasts had lessened considerably.

For most people, this exam was just to boost their courage.

If they really wanted to hone their skills in fighting spirit beasts, they wouldn't have waited until the fourth year to open the Great Beast Arena.

"Next, Xiao Yan!"

The referee's voice echoed throughout the arena.
