Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

In the mornings, the university library is always filled with students, but at night the library is deserted.

Tonight, I was sleeping when I heard a whisper.

"Follow my whispers, and the truth will be revealed."

So I did.

When I opened the doors after midnight, the air was cold—much colder than the halls.

I should not have been here.

Every instinct screamed.

Bur t I didn't listen to that voice, and went on.

As I went deeper inside, the smell of old books filled the air. Candles lit up on their own, and the pendant around my neck began to grow warm.

"Wow, that's really great," I muttered to myself. "Even the library knows who I am."

"But the curse began. The Blood King lost his power and became weak, and now he's searching for a soul that could nourish him and bring him back to power…"

Below that—

"According to the Prophecy…"

There were ink stains. I could only see the last words:

"The Blood King can be forever destroyed."

The words echoed.

I flipped the pages, but the other notes were torn.

The candles began flickering, and the books began to shake.

"No," I whispered. "I was just reading."

I heard a whisper around my ears. It was ancient.

"Don't let the Blood King catch the descendant."

I gasped.

This was a warning.

I ran from the library, and the next day I returned to find the book—but it was missing.

It wasn't there...
