Nothing begins without sending prayers upon the Prophet — O Allah, send Your prayers and peace upon our master Muhammad 🌺
Welcome, my dear readers, to my first novel: The Frozen Blue Flower in the Frost ❄️💙
In the beginning, I would like to clarify a few things:
The symbol « » refers to my speech — the narrator.
The symbol ' ' is the dialogue of the characters.
And the symbol " " is used for the names of the characters.
I hope you will share your opinions about my first novel — your feedback means a lot to me 💖
Now, I wish you an emotional and enjoyable journey with the icy blue flower ☺️✨
«In the Empire of Orestial — the greatest empire on the continent that has enjoyed prosperity and peace for a thousand years after a long struggle between humans and dragons over this land — the victor was the founding emperor "Lucian Orestial".
He had golden hair like rays of sunlight, short and reaching just below his ears, golden eyes, white skin, and features always filled with hope and vitality. He had a warm smile that made you feel at ease no matter how harsh the hardships were. His voice was calm and gentle, and he controlled the powers of the sun and light.
Of course, he was not alone — with him were his first five companions:
The first, "Rian": he had blue hair like the waters of the sea, curly and reaching below his shoulder, blue eyes cold like a piece of ice, pale white skin, and always serious and cold features. He was the one who controlled water and ice.
The second, "Sera": her hair was light green and long, reaching the end of her back, her eyes warm brown, her skin white with rosy cheeks, her features calm and gentle. She was the one who controlled plants.
The third, "Darin": his skin was brown, his hair brown and curly reaching the end of his ear, his eyes wide brown, and he had a cheerful personality. He was the one who controlled earth and rocks.
The fourth, "Eilan": his skin was between white and brown, his hair red and long reaching the middle of his back, his eyes red and sharp like a falcon's, he was arrogant and proud, yet also loyal. He was the one who controlled fire.
The fifth and last, "Leif": his hair was dark green, slightly curly and reaching his shoulder, his eyes green like a clear meadow — pure and innocent — and he was characterized by wisdom. He was the one who controlled the wind.
After many fierce battles between humans and dragons, these six were able to defeat the dragon king — the golden dragon — by each one of them using their own power.
Both "Rian" and "Sera" restrained the dragon on the ground — "Rian" froze the dragon's legs, and from his excessive use of power, snow began to fall, while "Sera" wrapped tree trunks around its entire body.
As for "Darin" and "Leif", they united together to form a raging storm of massive rocks, and "Rian" helped them with ice crystals inside this raging storm to distract the dragon.
"Eilan" was hurling fiery explosions at the dragon from the sky — as if they were arrows of fire falling from the heavens in the midst of Rian's snowstorm.
They were all working together to distract the dragon until "Lucian" gathered his strength and forged a radiant golden sword from the power of the sun to pierce the dragon's chest — and this epic ended with the dragon's roaring scream that shook the earth.
Thus the golden dragon fell, and the land and sky grew still after its cry — the sun rose as these brave heroes stood upon the dragon's body, watching the beauty of the sunrise after a long night, shining upon a new era of peace and prosperity.»
After a month from the battle…
The six heroes gathered together to discuss who would rule the empire, for now — after the end of the age of wars — the empire was certainly in need of an emperor.
«"Eilan" sat on the chair, raising his leg onto the table, resting his head backward on his hand… and in an indifferent tone»
'Leave me out of this — I do not like ruling because it is boring. Choose whoever you want — but let it be someone who can protect this peace, otherwise I will turn him into roasted chicken with my flames.'
«"Darin" sighed and placed his palm on his head»
'And who said we are going to make a fool who knows nothing except fighting the emperor of the empire we protected?'
«Eilan grew angry at Darin's words — his hair began to flutter and fiery spheres surrounded him — and in a threatening, angry tone»
'Ha? Who is the fool, you lowly bastard…'
«Darin raised rocks from the ground to attack Eilan — until Rian's ice stopped them, freezing Eilan's fire — and the tree trunks summoned by Sera restrained them… After everyone calmed down, Leif sighed as he ran his hand through his hair»
'Don't you get tired of these childish games…'
«After they calmed a little, "Lucian" noticed the atmosphere becoming tense — so he clapped his hands and smiled — and everyone soon calmed down and sat in their places»
'An idea came to me — why doesn't Lucian become the emperor? I think he is the best choice among us, and I am certain he will protect the empire.'
«All eyes turned toward "Leif", who was looking confidently at "Lucian"… then they all looked at "Lucian" and said in one voice: 'It is a good idea — he is the best choice among us.'»
After several days…
«Lucian stood proudly with the crown upon his head — before him stood "Rian", "Sera", "Eilan", "Leif", and "Darin", kneeling on their knees, swearing loyalty to the new sun of the empire — "Lucian Orestial".»
«Lucian looked at his companions…
'"Rian", I grant you the lands of the north under your authority — the Duchy of Valdrin — Duke "Rian Valdrin".
"Sera", I grant you the lands of the south — the Duchy of "Sylvia" — Duchess "Sera Sylvia".
"Leif", I grant you the lands of the east — the Duchy of Mirial — Duke "Leif Mirial".
"Eilan", I grant you the central lands — the Duchy of Dovan — Duke "Eilan Dovan".
"Darin", I grant you the lands of the west — the Duchy of Craiven — Duke "Darin Craiven".
You are now the lords of the great duchies — do you swear loyalty to the empire?"»
'Of course, Your Majesty — we swear with our blood and souls to protect the imperial family and its people.'
«The voice of the people rose… Long live the Emperor… Long live the great duchies…»
The Present…
«A young prince of twenty-seven years sat on a chair in the office of the imperial palace — he had golden yellow hair flowing down to his shoulder like threads of gold, sharp golden eyes like those of a falcon, pale white skin, wearing black trousers decorated with golden patterns and a buttoned white shirt, with a red cloak embroidered with golden threads upon his shoulders — in his hand a brown old book titled: The Legend of the Founding of the Empire of Orestial… and in a bored tone»
'I have read this book many times… even children know the story of the empire's founding from a thousand years ago — but I feel there is something missing… for example, why was there a war between humans and dragons…'
«The prince sighed»
'Haa… "Elena", do you know why?'
«Standing before him was a woman with short blue hair reaching her shoulders, her eyes blue and cold — devoid of their shine as if lifeless — her skin white and her face expressionless. She wore the uniform of the knights…»
'Your Highness Prince "Kyle", this is the fifth time you have asked me this question — and my answer will remain the same: I do not know what is missing from the legend you speak of — so how could I know what is not recorded in the history books?'
«Prince Kyle sighed loudly, placed the book on the table, frowned, leaned his head back and ran his hands through his hair»
'Haa… then who will know the answer to this question…'
Their conversation was interrupted by the entrance of a woman with black hair falling over her shoulders, adorned with many jewels — her eyes green like pure emerald, her skin white with a few wrinkles due to age — around forty-seven years old — wearing a sleeveless red dress decorated with diamonds and pearls…
…While Empress Marcelina, Prince Kyle, and the knight Elena were exchanging conversation, their talk was interrupted by the entrance of a man in his fifties — with golden hair like Kyle's, but closer to white due to age — his golden eyes still retaining their shine, and a short golden beard. He wore black leather trousers embroidered with golden threads, a buttoned white shirt, a black suit, and upon his shoulder the royal red mantle embroidered with the emblem of the imperial family in golden thread.
He approached them with steady steps until he stood near the Empress.
Elena bowed to him with her usual calm:
'The duchess and commander of the imperial knights — Elena Valdrin — greets the Sun of the Empire.'
Then Kyle bowed behind her:
'The First Prince — Kyle Orestial — greets the Sun of the Empire.'
The Emperor smiled gently and gestured with his hand for both Kyle and Elena to stand.
He placed his hands on Marcelina's shoulders and, in a calm and gentle voice, said:
'Come on, Marcy — it's getting late. You shouldn't stay outside for too long.'
Empress Marcelina smiled and placed her hand over Emperor Leonhart's hand, tilting her head slightly upward so she could look at him — she looked at him with eyes full of love and said softly:
'Alright, Leon.'
Then she shifted her gaze toward Kyle and Elena and waved to them with her hand.
Elena looked out the window to see the sunset — then turned toward Kyle:
'Your Highness, it is time for your return as well.'
She walked ahead of him toward the door — and while she was walking, he stopped when he called out to her:
'Serena, I have a question.'
Serena looked at him with slight confusion — then sighed, ran her hand through her hair, and said in a firm tone:
'Please, Your Highness — go ahead.'
Kyle held his chin thoughtfully for a moment, then sighed loudly:
'Haa… no matter how much I think about it, I can't find an answer. You are Elena Valdrin — you became a duchess at the age of fifteen and you were a capable duchess — so why did you become a knight?'
Elena looked at him coldly:
'Must I answer… since it is a question from the First Prince?'
Kyle shook his head:
'No — it was only a personal question. If you don't wish to answer, that is your choice. I would never force you using my authority in such matters.'
Elena continued walking and said in a slightly low voice:
'You may consider this the only job that allows me to spend time away from home… without harming the reputation of my late father, the former duke.'
Kyle gave a slightly sad smile — he hadn't wanted to remind her of her late father, knowing how deeply attached she had been to him.
He looked at her with regret upon his features:
'I truly apologize for reminding you of your father. I didn't mean to make you think of something painful… but can I at least consider that — after five years of working here — you have told me something about yourself? That I have earned your trust?'
Elena turned toward him and said:
'Your Highness, there is nothing for you to apologize for — but I am sorry to disappoint you… there is no one left to whom I can give my trust anymore — and you are no exception. Who knows when you might become like her.'
She continued walking, leaving the office before him — while he remained in confusion, wondering what Elena meant.
Kyle, in a puzzled tone:
'Like her? Who is she?
Anyway… I'm glad Elena told me something about herself — she hasn't told me anything during the five years she has worked guarding me.
Don't worry, Elena… I will do my best to bring back the smile you lost… Don't worry — I swear I will see your smile again, even if it is the last thing I see in my life.'
Meanwhile…
Elena was sitting inside the duchy's carriage — the carriage was white, and in its center was the emblem of the duchy: a water vortex with a blue ice crystal at its center.
Elena dozed off for a while inside the carriage — and in her dream she saw scenes from her distant past… There was a little girl with long brown hair calling out to Elena from beneath the shade of a tree — the two of them were playing together… then Elena saw that same girl again, but now as a young woman — covered in blood — smiling widely and whispering in Elena's ear:
'All of this is because of you… "Eli".'
Elena woke up — cold sweat covering her forehead — and in a frightened voice:
'Will you not leave me… even in my dreams…?'
Her moment of fear was interrupted by the coachman knocking on the carriage:
'My lady the duchess — we have arrived at the duchy.'
She took a deep breath to regain her composure — then stepped down from the carriage and entered her palace…
