Wandering Port is a massive void port.
With a permanent population of tens of millions,
it is a giant Hive City suspended in the void.
Located on the Drusus Marches of the Calixis Sector,
it is the last stop in human-controlled territory before entering the Koronus Expanse.
It was established by the Imperial Navy in 917.M40 as a rallying point,
to investigate the reasons for the loss of many warships in the Drusus Marches region.
Later, a Rogue Trader discovered a passage into the Koronus Expanse nearby,
attracting many adventurers eager for wealth, who used Wandering Port as a transit hub and trade market.
Relic artifacts from the Koronus Expanse, as well as standard-issue weapons from various Forge Worlds, could all be found here.
The people here were also a motley crew, doing all sorts of things.
Pirates preying on trade ships, Inquisition agents, family gangs involved in grey businesses, fanatical preachers, and so on, could all be found here.
This caused Wandering Port to rapidly prosper, becoming a coveted prize in the eyes of many factions.
Wandering Port was under the jurisdiction of the Imperial Navy, but the Navy only collected management fees and provided protection annually.
The specific operations and management were entrusted to several families with powerful backgrounds.
These families rapidly developed into influential major powers by relying on Wandering Port.
However, when the Colin Family betrayed, these families quickly defected to the rebels, harming the Imperial Navy that had withdrawn to Wandering Port for rest.
With their inside cooperation, the rebel fleet easily seized control of Wandering Port, slaughtering the Imperial Navy's fleet.
The entire void was filled with fragments of ships and the corpses of loyalist soldiers, a truly tragic sight.
"Why? Where is your loyalty to the Emperor?"
Fenrir, a Naval Vice Admiral, was trapped in the Naval Headquarters of Wandering Port.
He angrily questioned the many families besieging the headquarters, who intended to take his head to claim credit from the rebels.
With Wandering Port's firepower and reserves, if they had held out, they could have lasted for several years, making the rebel fleet pay a heavy price.
However, the major families of Wandering Port chose to betray and led the rebels into Wandering Port.
"The Emperor's era is over; the gods are about to descend."
The voice of the representative from the Haer Family rang out, gloating over their choice.
"Cadia has fallen, the Eye of Terror has expanded, tearing apart the entire galaxy, and Holy Terra (Earth/Reality) is too busy to care; even the light of the Astronomican has vanished. Surrender, Vice Admiral Fenrir, everything you stand for is meaningless."
The representative of the Fetus Family advised.
Fenrir was furious; he roared like a lion.
"Even if I die a thousand times, I will never betray the Emperor. Traitors, you will pay the price for what you have done today."
"Foolish." The Haer Family representative angrily rebuked, "Then go die."
Ultimately, the Naval Headquarters that Fenrir defended was breached by fanatical rioters,
and the loyal Imperial Navy soldiers were slaughtered.
Fenrir, as a Naval Vice Admiral, fought to his last breath and finally fell in battle,
his body was cruelly desecrated and hung for display in the ruined Naval Headquarters.
After the rebels gained control of Wandering Port, looting and massacres also broke out.
Countless Imperial citizens were cruelly persecuted, treated as slaves, and sent to factories to produce various military supplies for the rebels.
The Wandering Port incident was just one corner of the great rebellion in the Calixis Sector.
The same things happened at Landing Port, the industrial world of Finks, and the agricultural world of Aikans, among others.
Betrayal was everywhere, and the Imperial loyalists suffered heavy casualties.
Many worlds declared loyalty to the Colin Family, abandoning the Imperium.
The loyalist forces in the Calixis Sector were pushed to the brink.
The Colin Family only needed a little patience in their encirclement, and the Imperial loyalists would be annihilated.
Despair had enveloped every servant loyal to the Emperor.
...
After a week-long Warp journey,
the fleet led by the Imperial Glory traversed the raging Warp Storm and returned to the Atoma region of the Calixis Sector.
The fleet opened a Warp rift at the Mandeville Point,
with the Imperial Glory entering Holy Terra (Earth/Reality) first,
followed closely by many other warships.
News of the fleet's arrival quickly spread, attracting public attention.
Atoma's defense system was quickly activated,
and a provisional fleet composed of escaped Imperial Navy ships turned around, adopting a defensive posture.
Many people looked nervous, fearing it might be the rebels.
Fortunately, the misunderstanding was quickly resolved.
Upon learning that it was the Imperial Glory returning, an unimaginable surge of joy filled the hearts of the populace.
Senior officials like Feng and Hyderak boarded transport shuttles or fighters and headed to Lykard Space Station, preparing to welcome the Guide.
Some fleeing dignitaries also followed behind them.
After entering Holy Terra (Earth/Reality), Alex no longer guided the fleet, leaving its full command to Xia.
He returned alone to the Strategic Room of the Imperial Glory to review the intelligence and information Cortana had compiled for him.
It was better not to look; once he did, it was utterly frustrating.
The Players and Atoma were developing well.
With the help of the Adeptus Mechanicus, the Players had built space factories, space smelters, space mines, and other industries.
They were extensively exploiting void resources to meet the ever-increasing industrial demand.
In addition, they had also built void cities, space farms, and so on,
not only accommodating a large number of refugees but also ensuring sufficient food.
Dora Workshop had completed the maiden voyage test of the light cruiser,
signifying that the shipbuilding industry chain was complete, and only an increase in production capacity was needed to churn out warships like dumplings.
Furthermore, nearly three thousand Astartes had completed their implantation surgeries and were currently undergoing training under Captain Sotha.
Atoma's standing army had reached twenty million,
of which nearly five million had donned exoskeleton armor and were equipped with gauss weapons, their combat power exponentially increasing compared to before.
Atoma's development was good, but the Calixis Sector was a mess.
The Imperial loyalists had been thoroughly defeated and were now scattered across various locations, just waiting for the rebels to encircle and annihilate them one by one.
If they weren't rescued in time, they might be completely wiped out.
"The situation has deteriorated to this extent!"
Alex was speechless for a moment.
Compared to the rebels led by the Colin Family, the Imperial loyalists were simply a bunch of pigs!
Cortana's projection appeared beside Alex.
"Master, Feng and Hyderak have sent word that they are waiting for you at Lykard Space Station's B-145 port."
"Also accompanying them are Inquisitor Kaidin, Marshal Gorman of the Sector Judiciary, Cardinal Ignatius, and others."
Alex frowned; these were all important figures in the Calixis Sector.
What did it mean for them all to come to Planet Atoma instead of fighting?
"Did Feng say what these representatives of the sector forces want?"
"Feng only said they came to seek the Emperor's Living Saint, to unite all loyalist forces against the rebels."
Alex's head hurt even more after hearing this; so the loyalists were still squabbling?
He had thought the situation couldn't get any worse,
but now it seemed he had been too optimistic.
"I understand."
Alex rubbed his temples before turning to Cortana, giving a new order.
"Cortana, help me edit a new expansion pack, called 'Wrath of the Emperor'."
The deteriorating situation in the Calixis Sector could no longer be delayed; action must be taken quickly.
After this period of development, Planet Atoma already possessed considerable war potential.
He wanted to use Planet Atoma as a base to launch a war outwards and open up the loyalist front.
This battle would also be a good opportunity to present the first expansion pack of the new Warhammer OL version to the Players, igniting their enthusiasm.
"Understood, Master, Cortana will get right to it." Cortana nodded and went to work on the task Alex had assigned.
...
The Imperial Glory smoothly entered the port.
In the Hive City on the surface, celebratory fireworks whistled into the sky.
The waiting populace cheered, shouting the Guide's name and performing the aquila salute towards the Imperial Glory.
During this time, Alex's story continuously spread among the refugees,
becoming more and more mystical with each telling.
Now, Alex had become a savior representing the Emperor.
"As long as the Guide returns and attacks the enemy, everything will get better."
This sentence was widely circulated, and countless refugees firmly believed it.
When Alex appeared, their fervent adoration for him reached its peak, and his faith value soared uncontrollably.
Especially those pure white wings, and the golden radiance that could heal souls, released with a casual wave of his hand.
All of it clearly demonstrated Alex's identity as a Living Saint.
Some people knelt before Alex, weeping, begging him to save their hometowns.
"In the Emperor's name, I will go and save every world plunged into despair and hardship."
Alex assured those people, and when they began to see him as a god of salvation, he denied it.
"There are no gods in this galaxy, only the God-Emperor; He is nobler than all gods, and we should only believe in Him. I am merely an ordinary person blessed by Him."
"At this moment, I finally understand how Luo Jia feels!" Tenjiro, who was following behind Alex, grumbled in the communication.
"The Guide says he's not a god? Oh my goodness, why make such a grand display? I even want to pray to win the lottery tomorrow."
"You don't understand, faith can soothe people's hearts. These people have been scared by the rebels; if you don't do something shocking, how can you make them regain confidence?" Twisted person said.
"Although it's to soothe hearts, if it continues to develop like this, the Guide will definitely be worshipped as the second Emperor," Warmaster interjected.
Old Bird chuckled, "Maybe, after 'This is part of the plan,' 'I am not a god,' and 'I am Rogal Dorn,' the galaxy will see another 'I am just an ordinary person blessed by the Emperor.'"
""...
Alex felt a little helpless hearing the Players' complaints.
He didn't want to, but this method was the fastest way to win the hearts of these refugees and make them serve him.
The situation in the Calixis Sector was rotten, and there was no time to waste.
Passing through the fervently cheering crowd, Alex, escorted by soldiers, arrived before the waiting dignitaries.
Trumpet calls sounded at this moment, and cherubim and servitor skulls circled in the air, announcing the arrival of the Saint.
