Chapter 237 - Chapter 237 : Red Blooded Wolf Pack

Pig Head Strong, Zack, Krieg, and Dòu Zǒng were the founders of the Husky Battle Group.

After following Alex to support Macragge and assisting Belisarius Cawl in the mission to rescue Guilliman, these players did not return to the Calixis Sector.

Instead, they chose to remain on Macragge and later joined Guilliman on the Indomitus Crusade.

Finding their cooperation seamless and enjoyable, they left their original Battle Groups and collectively formed the Husky Battle Group.

After Guilliman launched the Indomitus Crusade, the Husky Battle Group deployed with the First Crusade Fleet.

During this time, they have consistently served the First Crusade Fleet.

Now, they are considered a well-established and powerful Battle Group, consistently ranking among the top five in war scores.

Being snubbed by the Space Wolves and left outside The Fang to face a closed door left them quite displeased.

Even if the Space Wolves were a newly formed Battle Group and had some temper, not wanting to deal with them, they were still the Fourth Scourge.

Regardless, they should have been given some face.

As a result, they couldn't even enter the door and were subjected to sarcastic remarks; anyone would be furious.

However, upon hearing what Bald Donkey shouted, Pig Head Strong and the other players' eyes widened.

These words were no less than shouting "You are all Fallen Angels!" and "Leman Russ doesn't want you traitors!" in front of the Dark Angels, performing headless art in front of the Iron Hands, or performing 'Angel Sauce' in front of those Blood Angels' blood-suckers.

"It's over! The wolf pups must be furious!"

Pig Head Strong slapped his forehead.

Zack stared wide-eyed at Bald Donkey, wanting to give a thumbs up and shout, "Brother, you're awesome!"

He dared to humiliate the wolf pups like this.

He truly was a man who inherited the bloodline of the Wolf King; in two words, he had guts.

"That's a bit much," Dòu Zǒng said.

The heavy gates of The Fang opened.

Several burly Space Wolves, clad in Terminator armor, emerged.

Each was draped in fur and totems, holding weapons, and glaring menacingly at Bald Donkey and the other players.

A burly man with white beard and hair, his head adorned with a gilded giant wolf skull, stepped forward.

He held an exaggerated great axe and a boltgun.

Clearly, he was not there to welcome guests.

"I am Chapter Master Logan Grimnar, and now—" Logan raised his axe, pointing it at Bald Donkey, "—you will pay for your foolish words and actions."

Logan is one of the most renowned Imperial heroes, the strongest legendary Chapter Master in terms of overall strength.

He is known as one of the 'Three Imperial Strongmen,' alongside Dante of the Blood Angels and Calgar of the Ultramarines.

He once wrestled a giant wolf bare-handed, defeated a Khorne Greater Daemon, killed an Ork Warboss, and even defeated Magnus.

"Pay? Are the wolves so weak now that they can't even hear the truth?"

Bald Donkey stared intently at Logan.

He would not admit fault to these stubborn wolf pups.

"Your veins flow with Roboute Guilliman's blood, you are his whelp, not one of the wolf pack."

Logan's tone was unfriendly.

"Apologize now, or you will never have the chance to speak again."

"I don't need your recognition for my bloodline," Bald Donkey retorted, completely disregarding Logan's expression as the Alpha Wolf.

"I am purer than all of you; you are not worthy of the noble title of Space Wolves at all."

"The wolf pack has never had a custom of rejecting its comrades, yet you reject blood brothers who have traveled far, merely because of your baseless conjectures."

Along with the Husky Battle Group, there was also a group of Primaris Space Marines with the Wolf King's bloodline.

At this moment, they all stood not far away.

According to the original plan, they would be incorporated into the Space Wolves Battle Group to replenish their battle losses.

But the wolf pack refused, citing that they believed Guilliman was trying to control Fenris through such means, thereby turning the Imperium into his personal domain.

"How we do things is none of your business, outsider!" Logan glared at Bald Donkey.

"Perhaps I should beat you senseless and then have someone carry you back."

Bald Donkey retaliated sharply.

"I had the same thought; perhaps I should beat you to the ground and then have your brothers carry you inside."

Bald Donkey activated his staff, and astonishing psychic power surged through his strong body.

Ancient runic symbols appeared in the air, emitting a faint glow.

This made the Rune Priests, including the Stormcaller, look grim.

They had never imagined that this challenger before them was so deeply versed in the runic arts.

"You will soon realize your foolishness."

Logan had his boltgun taken away and faced Bald Donkey with his axe.

"That's hard to say," Bald Donkey said, unafraid.

During this time, he had gained many skills to enhance his combat power.

Recognition of the Great Wolf's Soul: Allows him to gain the blessing of Fenris's World Soul, unleashing astonishing power.

Wolf Transformation: Can freely switch between human and werewolf forms; when switching to werewolf form, strength and speed greatly increase.

Everyone watched them face each other, with tension in the air, and no one intervened.

This was a duel of honor; others could not casually interfere.

Logan let out a muffled growl and swung his axe towards Bald Donkey.

Bald Donkey used his staff to block, and the two weapons clashed with a clang, sending out a terrible shockwave that stirred up the swirling snow.

Bald Donkey felt a tingling in his hand and a faint ache in the hand gripping the staff.

Logan, as the Alpha Wolf, possessed astonishing strength.

He was already this strong before becoming a Primaris.

If he became a Primaris, his combat power would be heaven-defying; truly one of the three fierce men of the Imperium, incredibly strong.

Logan didn't give Bald Donkey much time to think; he attacked again.

The axe in his hand was heavy and powerful, whistling through the air as he swung it.

Bald Donkey sidestepped, dodging the axe, and then thrust his psychic-infused hand towards Logan.

The violent psychic energy formed an exaggerated shockwave.

Logan crouched, reducing his contact area, and relied on his heavy Terminator armor to withstand the impact.

Bald Donkey charged forward, swinging his staff downwards.

Logan blocked the strike with his axe.

Clang!

The sound of weapons clashing spread with the turbulent air current.

Logan used his axe to block the staff, then stepped forward, striking Bald Donkey with a punch that landed squarely on his face.

Bald Donkey was sent flying, landing in the distant snow with a dull thud.

Countless white snowflakes were flung into the air, and a shocking deep pit was formed.

Bald Donkey quickly adjusted his posture, then pounced again like a hunting wolf.

After twisting his body to dodge the opponent's strike, he swung his staff at the opponent's face.

Logan blocked the blow with his arm guard.

The collision between the two produced a harsh sound, and cracks appeared in the arm guard, indicating the force of the blow.

Logan seized the opportunity to kick Bald Donkey squarely in his undefended chest, sending him flying again.

Bald Donkey felt the world spin, then his body was filled with pain.

He fell to the ground, his vision blurry.

The bone-shattering pain in his body made him grimace.

"You are not a wolf pack at all; you are just a bunch of Ultramarines painted with wolf totems.

Fenris has never had warriors like you."

"You are merely Guilliman's pawns, attempting to help him control the wolf pack."

Logan strode towards the fallen Bald Donkey, preparing to give him a profound lesson, to let him know not to speak carelessly on Fenris.

"Ten thousand years ago, Fenris didn't have a wolf pack either; why don't you accuse the Emperor of the changes he brought?" Bald Donkey spat blood as he struggled to get up.

But he remained sharp-tongued, and his words only further enraged Logan.

"What right does Roboute Guilliman have to be compared to the Allfather?" Logan shouted, "Does he deserve it? He does not."

"You deserve to be abandoned in this ice world by the Wolf King for ten thousand years; you insulted his brothers." Bald Donkey also lost his temper.

"Although the Regent's actions are somewhat biased, he is at least diligently continuing this Imperium, upholding the achievements of the Emperor and his brothers."

"Yet you reject your blood brothers, merely because you fear being replaced. You use false honor to whitewash your selfishness, and outdated traditions to resist salvation."

Although the game has a pain cap, the sensation of pain is real.

Being beaten like this, anyone would get angry.

As a Warhammer fan, Bald Donkey naturally knew the weaknesses of the Space Wolves.

Every word was a direct hit, causing the surrounding Space Wolves to turn red with fury.

Pig Head Strong and the other players were even more dumbfounded; this was the rhythm of offending the wolf pack to death!

Flames of rage burned in Logan's eyes; he began to run, each step making the ground tremble.

"Regret for desecrating Fenris," Logan's voice roared like a giant wolf, carrying a terrifying will.

"You are the one who should regret desecrating Fenris, Logan."

Bald Donkey activated a skill.

Roar!

A giant white wolf's phantom appeared behind him.

A terrifying roar sent snow swirling upwards.

The Rune Priests, including Stormcaller Nagal, watched in stunned disbelief.

"This is impossible! The Fenrisian Wolf's Recognition!"

"How could an outsider like him receive recognition?"

"This defies logic!"

"Something must be wrong!"

All Rune Priests serving the wolf pack had personally experienced the power of Fenris's World Soul during meditation.

Many times, they would use this power to defeat powerful enemies or predict fate.

Back when Magnus launched his invasion of Fenris, Logan was only able to block that Daemon Primarch because he had the blessing of the World Soul.

Otherwise, how could a mortal contend with a Primarch who was like a god?

Seeing the giant wolf's phantom appear out of thin air, the enraged Logan paused, his eyes, burning with fury, showing shock and surprise.

He had never seen an outsider gain the recognition of the Wolves of Fenris.

Logan hesitated for only a moment before continuing his attack.

The heavy battle-axe swung down, powerful and forceful, carrying the might to split a mountain.

The enhanced Bald Donkey blocked the blow, then fiercely threw a punch, landing it on the other party's face.

The heavy blow made Logan's vision turn blood-red.

Dizzy and disoriented, he stumbled back a few steps.

Roar!

The blood sent Logan into a state of berserk rage. He quickly composed himself, then attacked like a frenzied giant wolf.

In his enraged state, his strength and speed were greatly enhanced, his eyes turned into wolf pupils, and his teeth also changed.

This was the Curse of the Wulfen,

a terrifying curse, yet it could enhance the combat power of the Wolves.

Facing the rampaging Logan, Bald Donkey was at a disadvantage, constantly suppressed by the Wolf Lord, with no chance to retaliate.

Bald Donkey quickly activated his Wulfen skill as well.

In just a breath's time, his speed and strength increased dramatically.

Hair grew on his face, his eyes became sharp, carrying a bloodthirsty wildness.

"You're not the only one who can do this!" Bald Donkey let out a low growl.

Seeing this, the nearby Space Wolves members looked at each other in dismay, muttering, "How can he even do this?"

Seeing that the opponent also bore the Curse of the Wulfen, Logan, in his fury, regained a little sanity.

But he still stepped forward, roaring continuously, launching attacks, trying to defeat the opponent.

Another fierce battle erupted between the two sides.

Even with the blessing of the World Soul and the Curse of the Wulfen,

Bald Donkey was still no match for Logan, an old and powerful figure of the Imperium.

Logan had been the Chapter Master of the Space Wolves Battle Group for nearly a thousand years,

most of which was spent in combat, honing his exquisite fighting skills.

Furthermore, this Wolf Lord also received the blessing of Fenris.

Bald Donkey possessed superior physical attributes, but facing a veteran who had fought for many years, he was still somewhat lacking.

Clang~

The weapons of both sides collided again.

Bald Donkey's staff was struck away, arcing through the air before landing on the ground.

Just as he was about to make a move, the battle-axe, wreathed in electrical arcs, appeared before him, blocking all escape routes.

"It's over," Logan said calmly, declaring his victory,

but there was no joy on his face. Being able to freely control the Curse of the Wulfen and gain the recognition of the World Soul,

this was something most Space Wolves warriors could not achieve.

It all indicated that the person before him had gained Fenris's approval.

"Then I must congratulate you, Wolf Lord abandoned by the Wolf King," Bald Donkey still talked tough at this point,

mainly because the fight had been too painful, which made him extremely annoyed.

Even if Wolf Lord Logan were to kill him, in his current anger, he would never back down an inch.

"Get out, and never set foot on Fenris again," Logan did not continue to fight; he just wanted these people to leave.

"Then you all can rot here alone. One day, the Wolf King will return here, and he will say with a look of disappointment, 'You are not his descendants,'" Bald Donkey shouted.

"Don't force me to kill you," Logan's tone carried killing intent.

The Primaris Space Marines in the distance looked uneasy, whispering to each other, worried about what was about to happen.

The consequences of killing a God Chosen were far more severe than killing a Grey Knights Grand Master or an Inquisitor.

The latter merely disobeyed the Imperium, while the former was self-excommunication from the Emperor.

"Enough, Logan," a hoarse voice rang out.

A tall Dreadnought walked out of The Fang with heavy steps.

He was a legend of the Space Wolves Battle Group, a great hero who had lived from the 30k era until now—Bjorn.

Even Logan, as the Wolf Lord, dared not offend this ancient hero.

When Bjorn walked out, Logan lowered his head and bowed humbly.

Bjorn walked up to the bruised and swollen Bald Donkey, his voice softening,

"Logan was too impulsive; he shouldn't have treated guests from afar so rudely."

"Come, please follow me into The Fang; servants will offer you wine and fine food."

Bjorn's appearance eased the sharp conflict between the two sides.

Bald Donkey wanted to just leave, but Pig Head Strong and other players held him back, saying, "Brother, this is a quest! Are you letting an NPC get to your head?"

"I'm impressed, first time seeing someone get this worked up with an NPC over a quest."

"We've completely offended the Wolves. If it weren't for Bjorn, we would probably have to retreat in disgrace."

As his companions spoke, Bald Donkey slowly calmed down.

He also realized that something was amiss.

How could he get angry with an NPC over a small matter?

It seemed the plan to build good relations with the Space Wolves and trick them out of their sacred relics had fallen through.

He wondered how that Warmaster fellow did it; he was practically a Warhammer succubus, liked everywhere he went.

After arranging the God Chosen and Primaris Space Marines in a large hall,

Bjorn led the Wolf Lord and several other Company commanders into the inner court.

"As the leader of a Battle Group, you were too reckless, Logan."

Bjorn looked at Logan and began to reprimand him.

"Guilliman issued the Codex Astartes, and now he has personally destroyed it," Logan said. "He is not to be trusted, and those warriors he sent are even less to be trusted."

"Look at their promise; they can provide thousands of new recruits to the Wolves, while we now have less than a thousand warriors."

"When they overwhelm Fenris's Wolves with several times their numbers, whose will will the Wolves belong to? The Wolf King's will be diluted, and Guilliman's authority will take root on Fenris."

"So, you impulsively shut them out and tried to kill an Emperor's God Chosen? Do you know what such an act signifies? It signifies your complete betrayal of the Emperor and the Wolf King?"

Bjorn had not slept since he was awakened by that mysterious angel.

He believed this was a sign, representing some change, that the Wolf King might return.

For this, during this period, he had been constantly ordering Astropaths and priests to receive psychic messages from the Warp.

From those fragmented messages, he pieced together the general situation of the Imperium today.

Guilliman and a Living Saint were in charge of Terra, and a group of Emperor's God Chosen, called the God Chosen, were active in various places.

"I had no such intention," Logan defended himself. "I just wanted them to leave."

"But you almost did it," Bjorn said. "Just a little more, and you would have doomed the Wolves of Fenris to eternal damnation."

"For the next period, I will continue to communicate with them, and you, you must learn to control your emotions, remain calm, no matter what is discussed, you must not get angry again," Bjorn said.

Logan nodded, "I will."

The envoy group all carried communication devices,

and immediately transmitted the relevant news to the Macragge's Honour.

"I originally thought that since they were also of Leman Russ's bloodline, it would be better if these God Chosen went."

"Now it seems, it was just wishful thinking on my part."

Guilliman felt a headache coming on.

From the envoy group's report, he could imagine to what extent those God Chosen had offended the Wolves!

Not breaking out into open war on the spot was already a sign of restraint.

He did not hesitate too much, but immediately opened communications and established contact with the Saint on Terra, explaining the matter thoroughly.

Alex, who had just finished arranging the Follow-up of the Custodes and the Webway project, lightly patted his forehead upon hearing Guilliman's description. To be able to anger a generation's Wolf Lord to the point of self-isolation, these little players' abilities were truly becoming more and more heaven-defying.

But thinking about it, such a result was not unexpected.

The Space Wolves inherently disliked Guilliman, still holding a grudge over the Legion's split.

Bald Donkey and other players were sent by Guilliman, so they naturally weren't recognized.

And players, as the Fourth Scourge, were fearless and easily provoked, so a fight was perfectly normal.

As a result, after the fight, the Space Wolves themselves couldn't take it anymore.

The Wulfen, which they couldn't control, the God Chosen could.

The recognition of the World Soul, which they couldn't get, the God Chosen could.

After a fight, it's likely the entire Wolves, from top to bottom, were questioning who the true Fenrisians were.

"This matter still requires your presence," Guilliman said. "The Wolves have issues with me; even if I go personally,

it will be difficult to persuade them to accept the Primaris gift."

"You are the Father's Saint, his earthly messenger; with this identity, they will not be disrespectful to you."

The Wolves' faith was in Leman Russ and the Allfather,

and the Allfather referred to the Emperor.

Alex's personal visit to Fenris would represent the Emperor's will.
