Chapter 240 - Chapter 240 : Ogryn vs. Space Wolves

"I am just an ordinary person blessed by the Emperor."

"I am not a god."

These two sentences were remarkably similar.

Bjorn's attitude became even more respectful.

He had been a little suspicious at first, but with that statement, he was 100% certain that this Saint was the Emperor's human incarnation.

"Rise, and carry these confused warriors back to recuperate. They will return to normal once they awaken."

Alex had the kneeling Space Wolves warriors stand up and carry away the recovered Wolf men.

His appearance easily dispelled the Space Wolves' hostility.

Even Logan, at this moment, obediently stayed behind Bjorn, not daring to act presumptuously.

"Primaris enhancement was created by Belisarius Cawl using the Primarch's stack, building upon the Emperor's original foundation. To some extent, it is still a gift prepared by the Emperor for the Astartes."

"It just wasn't needed at the time, because the Astartes' combat power was sufficient to complete the Great Crusade."

"The situation is different now. The Chaos Gods' interference in the Reality is unprecedentedly strong."

"Humanity needs to gain greater power to fight against the Chaos Gods' minions."

Alex looked at Bjorn, "If the Wolves are unwilling to accept Primaris Space Marines, does that mean they are no longer willing to fight for the Emperor?"

"Absolutely not! Fighting for the Allfather is the very meaning of the Wolves' existence," Bjorn replied, his tone somewhat anxious.

"Since the Saint has spoken, the Wolves will naturally accept these new warriors."

"What about the Wolf Lord's opinion?" Alex looked at Logan.

"Since both the Saint and Senior Bjorn have spoken, the Wolves will naturally accept these new warriors," Logan no longer objected.

Guilliman, standing to the side, maintained a smile throughout, without the slightest change in expression.

But inside, he was furiously complaining.

He was, after all, the Regent of the Imperium, the Emperor's own son, the Lord of the Thirteenth Legion, the Great Ruler of Ultramar, the savior of humanity, and the Imperium's only surviving Primarch.

Yet these wolf pups showed him no respect whatsoever!

He was angry!

He wanted to go back and find Calgar, and manage his own Five Hundred Worlds of Ultramar.

The Imperium was too complex; a mere Primarch like him couldn't handle it.

Despite his complaints, Guilliman was still very pleased that the Space Wolves could accept the Primaris Space Marines who were there to support them.

This way, the Space Wolves would have enough power to control their star sector and neighboring star sectors, and the expeditionary forces could continue to expand to more distant battlefields.

The Indomitus Crusade had achieved a series of significant results, but the Imperium of Man still faced severe challenges.

The entire galaxy was in a stalemate, with repeated tug-of-war battles everywhere.

In addition to the threat of Abaddon the Despoiler, alien threats appearing in several places also increased the burden on the expeditionary forces.

The Imperium had recovered many lost territories, but as the Warp Storm intensified, more uncertain areas emerged, and a large number of worlds were corrupted and plunged into turmoil.

News from the Eye of Terror indicated that more demons and traitors were continuously pouring out, invading Imperial territory and slaughtering innocent civilians.

On the other side, the Great Rift tore across the entire galaxy.

At this stage, the Necromunda Corridor was the only stable route through the Great Rift.

The Vigilant Star and the Red Earth Star were the bridgeheads of this route. There were reports that Chaos had targeted these two planets, intending to completely destroy this stable channel and cut off communication between the Imperium's dark side and Reality.

The Orks and Tyranids in the Octarius Sector were also growing in scale, becoming an unstable bomb.

Once these two forces broke out of the Octarius Sector, they would cause unimaginable destruction to the Imperium.

The Necrons had done something in the Naflim Sector, causing the Warp in that area to fall into a strange stasis.

No psychic signals were transmitted from that sector.

The entire galaxy was in chaos, with smoke and fire everywhere, and battles raging constantly.

Even Guilliman was somewhat despairing, and when alone, he once doubted whether he could turn the tide.

If not for the development of various new technologies and the Saint's presence on Reality, initiating reforms, and boosting the economy and production, this crusade would have been even more difficult.

The Space Wolves held a grand feast to entertain their guests who had traveled a long distance.

The banquet hall was located deep within The Fang, surrounded by layers of iron-black corridors, and illuminated by the glow of fireplaces within.

The Fang was built during the Great Crusade and could accommodate the entire Legion.

The banquet hall was also very large, capable of seating many people.

The hall was filled with noisy sounds, huge fireplaces burned coal, and servants constantly brought in prepared delicacies and carried away empty plates.

The entire banquet was very lively.

The wolf pups were fierce towards enemies and indifferent towards strangers.

But once they recognized someone, they would show their enthusiasm.

At the banquet, they drank fine wine, sang ancient songs, and occasionally howled loudly.

Warrior, Bald Donkey, and other players were also invited. They sat at stone high-top tables, drinking high-alcohol mead and tearing at fragrant roasted meat.

From time to time, they would also take photos and upload them to the chat channel to show off.

It was well known that not everyone had the opportunity to attend a Space Wolves banquet.

After learning that a new map had opened, a group of players also came, drawn by its fame.

They couldn't attend the banquet; they simply came to Fenris to check in, or to hunt giant beasts like sea serpents and thunder wolves as souvenirs.

These players used the lighthouse to teleport to the Macragge's Honour, then took transport shuttles to The Fang.

Fenris was, after all, the Space Wolves' home world.

They had to report to them first before they could move freely.

Only the God Chosen had such treatment; any other department would have been driven away before even entering Fenris.

Old Thirteen of the Hogwarts Battle Group, upon hearing the news of the Fenris map opening, also immediately teleported over, preparing to check in and hunt giant beasts.

After all, Fenris was a household name in the Warhammer circle.

In fact, given the current popularity of Warhammer 0L, it was a household name in other circles as well.

As Old Thirteen walked out of the transport shuttle, he happened to encounter Njal Stormcaller and a few other Space Wolves who were a bit tipsy.

They immediately saw Old Thirteen, who stood out from the crowd.

"Why are the God Chosen hanging out with Ogryn?"

One Space Wolf looked at Old Thirteen, a puzzled expression on his face.

"Maybe it's a pet."

"I have to say, the God Chosen are pretty amazing. Look at how well-equipped this Ogryn is!"

"This Ogryn's eyes look quite intelligent. I wonder if it can count to nine."

At first, Old Thirteen chose to avoid trouble.

The Space Wolves were a newly established Chapter, an important NPC, and Fenris was their home world, so he endured as much as possible.

"I heard Ogryn like to eat, chomp, chomp! Come on, big dummy, I'll take you to get something good to eat."

One Space Wolf's words finally made Old Thirteen unable to bear it.

"The Wolf Lord shouldn't have taught you to disrespect people like this," Old Thirteen said.

When Old Thirteen spoke, the Space Wolves led by Njal all froze.

How could an Ogryn speak so articulately?

Was this scientific?

However, the next second, something even more unscientific happened.

The Ogryn in front of them, with a casual wave of his hand, summoned a bolt of lightning, which electrocuted them, making their bodies twitch and their hair smoke, as they fell to the ground.

"A psychic Ogryn! I must be drunk!"

One Wolf warrior got up, a look of existential doubt on his face.

"I must be dreaming."

"Yes, Allfather above, I must be dreaming."

Zap! Zap!

Old Thirteen gave that wolf pup another jolt, and thoughtfully reminded him, "You're not dreaming."

"You're not an Ogryn! There's only one psychic Ogryn in the entire universe, are you Magnus?" Njal Stormcaller got up, his tone filled with shock and uncertainty.

"You're Magnus, your whole family is Magnus." Old Thirteen casually summoned another bolt of lightning, but it was blocked by Njal.

He was, after all, a Rune Priest, and he did have some skill.

But the next second, Old Thirteen suddenly increased his output, and the violent lightning instantly sent Njal flying, crashing heavily in the distance.

The fallen Space Wolves quickly got up and lunged at Old Thirteen, trying to restrain him.

But an Ogryn who had undergone two promotions had even fiercer combat power than a Primaris Space Marine, and was also proficient in psychic abilities.

Even if these Space Wolves were battle-hardened veterans, they were no match for Old Thirteen.

Soon after, they were all knocked down.

"Is this all the strength the wolf pups of Fenris have?" Old Thirteen stopped pretending and began to verbally taunt them.

Before long, he had the Space Wolves, led by Njal, twitching at the mouth with anger.

They argued with an Ogryn and lost.

They fought an Ogryn and lost.

What was particularly humiliating was being crushed by the opponent's psychic power!

"You must be Magnus in disguise, you damned heretic! Go quickly and report to the Wolf Lord, tell him to bring the Spear of Leman Russ and stab this fellow hard!"

The bruised and swollen Njal, even while being restrained by his companions, was yelling at the top of his lungs.

Logan and the others heard the commotion and came over. When they learned that this huge Ogryn was also a God Chosen, their eyes widened in disbelief.

The Allfather's power truly surpassed their imagination.

Alex also took the opportunity to introduce the players to Logan, the Chapter Master of the Space Wolves.

"The God Chosen are the Emperor's greatest warriors. They are diligent, fearless of all dangers, and their loyalty and will are the greatest in the Imperium."

"And to motivate these warriors, you only need to issue tasks and attach a small reward."

"Perhaps you can try it." Guilliman handed Logan a data-slate with mission-issuing authority. Logan took the data-slate, somewhat surprised and uncertain, but still decided to try.

He remembered the space hulk, composed of lost ships, space stations, and docks.

That hulk was enormous, comparable to a small asteroid, and was controlled by a powerful psychic Ork warlord.

That Ork warlord had countless Orks under his command.

They built fortresses and factories there, and if not completely eradicated, it would surely become a fatal threat in the future.

Before the Indomitus Crusade forces arrived, he had led the Space Wolves and a host of Imperial armies to attack it.

However, the enemy's numbers were simply too great, and even with their full strength, they could not destroy that Ork warlord.

Now, he had received support, and it was time to completely destroy this cancerous growth.

Logan thought for a moment, then edited the mission title on the data-slate:

[Mission: Destroy the Space Hulk Controlled by the Ork Warlord]
