"It was raining that day."

I could feel a cold breeze of air all around me. It was so cold.

The moon was barely visible, covered by the dark clouds, raining heavily. Darkness was all around me but I kept walking until I reached that one spot where there was a small ray of moonlight, near the edge of the building.
"Finally," I thought to myself.
The rain was getting lighter and the clouds covering the moon moved away from it. The full moon was fully visible now.
"It is so beautiful, rare occasion seeing a full moon." A small smile appeared on my face.
As the clouds disappeared they uncovered the sky full of shining stars. I had never seen such a beautiful sky. I still remember it.
"I guess I'll stay a bit longer up here, after all it's been such a long time since the last time I saw such a beautiful view."
I sat down and kept observing the beauty of the sky. A tear was falling from my eye.
"It's truly majestic."
"I always loved looking at beautiful views."
After a while I stood up and looked down the building.
"It's pretty high up."

"I'm finally doing this.." I took a step closer and jumped.
It felt like I was falling in slow motion. I kept looking at the moon as my life flashed before my eyes. Suddenly I couldn't feel the cold breeze anymore and everything around me was dark again.
"I wish I didn't die with so many regrets. I wish I lived a better life."
It felt like I was looking at nothingness. I couldn't feel or think, like I never existed before. I didn't know how much time had passed but it felt like I just took a small nap without a dream. Then I opened my eyes, everything was bright, I couldn't see anything but light.
"Did I survive?" I thought to myself.
Then I saw something green on the side of my eye and moved my head towards it. I saw a tree. I looked around me and saw I was in a small valley, surrounded by trees, I was lying down in the middle of it. The brightness I saw earlier was from the sky. The sun was shining so brightly.
"Where am I?" I asked myself confused.
Suddenly I heard a small noise, like something squishy was jumping around.
I turned towards the sound and saw a small, blue jelly like creature jumping around a flower. "What is that?" It looked familiar to me.
"Wait, is that a slime? Like the ones I've seen in anime and video games?" I thought.
I stood up but didn't move, I observed my surroundings a bit more. There were more slimes a bit further away.
"Am I really in another world? Was I reborn, summoned or what?" I felt a heavy feeling in my heart at that moment. "Who would have thought that another world really existed, let alone going into one."
Around me was no one and I had the same human form as when I was on earth, so I assumed I wasn't reborn or summoned.
"Did I get teleported here somehow?"
Looking at the sun I assumed it was around 3pm. "I should find a shelter and food." My survival instinct had kicked in.
"Should I look for other people here or just stay safe in the woods? It's better to find a city or a village, if this world really is like those anime then there should be monsters in the forest too."
The slimes were harmless, I tried getting close to one and it just ran off.
After a minute I gathered my thoughts I made my decision, I decided to go look for a city or village. It was for the best if I found someone to ask about this world I'm in.
I found a small road where it looked like people had passed so I followed it. I walked and walked until I got tired. "I'm not used to this much outdoor activity." I said while catching my breath.
The road was clear. I didn't find anything dangerous on the way, besides slimes and some small animals like rabbits.
I looked at the sky, the sun was ready to go down. "It's almost night time." I could see the sky taking a yellowish color and slowly turning dark.
"I should rest, if I get lucky someone might pass this road and I'll be able to talk to them."
Time passed but nobody came. My stomach was growling, I felt so hungry.
"Let me think, what can I do? Hmm, If this is another world with monsters like slimes just like in anime and video games I should have some kind of magic too, right? How does it work tho?"
I moved my arm in front of me and opened my hand which was freezing from the cold. In my mind I was thinking of warmth when suddenly flames came from my hand.
"Woah!" The flame was in my hand yet I felt no pain, neither did I get any burns.
I did the same with my other arm and another flame appeared. Sure it was scary but compared to jumping off a 7 story building it was nothing.
"It's warm, guess one of the problems was solved." Now I just need to find food.
"It's so warm now, having flames come off my hand and all." I smiled. "Finally I was free from my past life and I'm in another world with magic, just like I used to imagine."
After resting on the side of the road for some minutes I stood up and continued walking. On my left hand I kept the flames for light and warmth, while on the other I held a stick I found earlier on the road for protection.
It felt like I had walked for hours even though it had been less than an hour. "Am I getting tired faster now because I haven't eaten?" I was barely breathing.
After walking for another 30 minutes my eyes caught a glimpse of light on the side of the road between the woods. I got closer and saw a carriage on the side. There were 3 people in total. An elderly looking man and 2 others.
They could be hostile but considering the state I was in I didn't care. "Excuse me." I said walking towards them.
The elderly man was sleeping while the other two men looked like they were keeping watch. There was a fire in between them so I could see their faces.
"Who goes there?" Said one of the men with a scary expression. He was tall and well built, while the other looked fragile and skinny.
I threw the stick that was in my hand on the side and made the flame in my hand disappear with just a thought of it disappearing. "I mean no harm so please calm down sir."
"Who are you? Why is a young lady like yourself wandering in the woods at such late hours?" He asked. The other guy was just observing, not moving from where he was when I arrived.
"Who am I? I guess I should give myself a name." I thought. "But I don't wanna give them my real name, I never liked my name anyways."
"I don't know sir, I woke up in the middle of a valley in this forest around 6 hours ago."
The man looked confused but let me continue talking.
I continued, "I don't remember how I got there nor do I remember anything about myself or where I am. I found this path and decided to follow it. That is how I found you."
"I see, so it's another case of amnesia." Said the man.
"Another? What do you mean sir?" I asked.
"There has been a lot of people losing their memories lately but no one can explain why." Explained the man. "You can stay with us for now if that's the case."
I walked closer and sat near them close to the fire. "I see, thank you sir. May I ask your names?"
The man looked at me and replied with a serious face, "I'm Alric but people call me Al for short, this here is my younger brother Dinec."
"Pleasure to meet you miss." Said Dinec with a small smile.
He had a staff next to him so I assumed he was a mage and the older brother a swordsman, considering his build and the sword next to him.
"And the elderly sleeping there is our father, we had returned from the capital city." Said Alric. "We were standing guard while our father was sleeping in case of a monster attack. Monster attacks are rare in this area but it's still good to be on guard."
"Yes I agree with my brother." Said Dinec.
After talking with them I found out I was in the Kingdom of Ariel, one of the 6 kingdoms in this world. I also found out that this world is just as I thought, like anime and video games, mages, magic, knights, swordsmen, monsters etc. All existed here. They also told me more about the situation of the people losing their memories and gave me some food to eat.
"Miss we should give you a name too, since you don't recall yours." Offered Alric. "We can't keep calling you miss forever after all."
"I agree, do you have any names in mind?" I asked.
He thought for a bit and then one came to mind, "How about.."
Just as he was about to say the name monster appeared around us.
"Damn it, why now? Didn't Alric say monsters didn't appear in this part of the forest??"
I stood back while the two brothers got ready to fight. "Stay back miss and keep an eye on our father." Both of them said at the same time while going towards the monsters.
