Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

"Brother, it's already nine o'clock! Why are you feeding me your blood again? Didn't I tell you not to harm your own body?"

Li Miao'er pulled her brother's delicate frame back into her arms. Her adorable little face was flushed, the corners of her soft pink lips slightly lifted.

Urgh...

Hearing Sister Meow's coquettish voice, Chen Yi felt the dizziness intensify. He struggled to crawl to the edge of the bed, unable to hold back the urge to retch into the nearby trash can.

"Brother, what's wrong?"

Li Miao'er hastily wrapped her arms around her brother's, gently rubbing his back with her small hands. Worry washed over her pretty face—had he suffered some internal injury?

"Miao'er, I'm fine... I'll be okay in a little while. How are the zombies outside?"

Chen Yi took a tissue and wiped his mouth. He couldn't afford to lose any more blood in the future. This feeling of weakness and discomfort was just too unbearable.

"I cleaned up around the house. The zombies ran off once they couldn't smell blood anymore. Not sure where they went."

Li Miao'er carefully helped her brother back onto the bed and even tucked the cool quilt around him. She was always so considerate, gentle, and caring.

"Meow, are you hungry now?"

Chen Yi propped himself up against the headboard. It was almost nine—this little kitten definitely wouldn't have cooked.

He still remembered when he was little and had a high fever twice. Back then, his hungry little sister had tried to cook for herself with a kitchen knife. After tasting her "masterpiece"...

He'd dragged his sick body out of bed to make two bowls of instant noodles. She couldn't even tell salt from sugar—how could anything she made possibly be edible?

"Brother, you haven't eaten either, right? I'll cook a bowl of noodles for you!"

Li Miao'er pursed her lips thoughtfully. Making a simple bowl of noodles shouldn't be too hard. The noodles she cooked herself were bound to be delicious.

"No, thanks."

Chen Yi hurriedly grabbed his sister's small hand, his thin lips pressed together as he directed: "Meow, there are eggs in the fridge, and a can of instant oatmeal with milk in the bottom cabinet. Boil some water and use the oatmeal to make two bowls of porridge, then steam a few eggs on the rack. That'll do."

"Alright."

Li Miao'er pouted but nodded.

"Brother, I'm going to cook now. Mwah~"

Somewhat displeased, she leaned over, pecked his lips lightly, then trotted off to the kitchen.

Chen Yi shook his head with a faint smile. His current physical condition probably fell under the category of elderly, frail, sick, or disabled. Not being a burden to others was achievement enough—forget about fighting zombies to save the world.

"Hope, bring up Li Miao'er's information for me."

Chen Yi lazily burrowed under the cool quilt, really wanting to just sleep for a while.

Name: Li Miao'er

Age: 15

Physique: 50

Spirit: 38

Charm: 94

Affection: 100

"This is amazing! Hope, why did my Physique drop a little?" Chen Yi complained inwardly.

Seeing Little Sister Miao's Physique had increased by three points, he'd thought his own would rise too. Having it drop instead was just too hard to accept.

"Your body has lost a significant amount of vital essence and blood. It will take at least three months to fully recover. A slight drop in Physique is completely normal."

"Fine, whatever. Hope, how did my Support Points shoot up to 900 so fast?"

Chen Yi stared at his stats screen, puzzled. Was it a bug?

"You can ask Li Miao'er yourself. These Support Points were obtained from her."

Chen Yi quickly lowered his head to glance at his lower abdomen. The intricate rose mark was still there, but his body was also dotted with many fresh love bites—she must have taken advantage of him again.

Forget it. When you're unconscious, you can't control anything. Even if you were awake, there's not much you could do about it either. Sigh...

"Haah..."

Chen Yi sighed helplessly and decided against sleeping.

Using the wall for support with slightly trembling fingers, he shuffled slowly toward the living room. His steps felt light and unsteady, making him wobble a little as he walked.

This family was something else—everyone had password locks. Yesterday he'd thought only one phone was locked.

Chen Yi opened all the notebooks and phones from his backpack, looking for something interesting to browse.

If there were still a network, he could brute-force crack them, but there was truly no way now.

"Hope, how can I quickly replenish my essence and blood?" Chen Yi sprawled boredly on the sofa, fighting off drowsiness.

"It can be supplemented through medicinal tonics or by consuming the blood of high-level mutated beasts. Ginseng, angelica, and donkey-hide gelatin are all herbs that can nourish the blood."

There was a Chinese-Western pharmacy near the neighborhood. Common medicines like ginseng and donkey-hide gelatin must be in there. He needed to find a way to get them. Chen Yi rubbed his chin, thinking it over.

"Brother, why aren't you resting in bed?"

Li Miao'er scurried over carrying a small pot of eggs and a bowl of steaming thick oatmeal.

"Meow, you didn't dump the whole can of oatmeal into the pot, did you?" Chen Yi eyed the porridge in the bowl skeptically.

"Ah, brother... When I was pouring the oatmeal, my hand slipped, and it all fell into the water. I had to cook it all." Li Miao'er explained, her pretty face flushing.

"My god, Meow, you're truly one of a kind."

Chen Yi was immediately speechless. She'd cooked two jin of oatmeal in one go. What came out looked like pig feed—it completely killed his appetite.

"Hmph! Brother, turn your head this way. I'll feed you."

Li Miao'er sat down beside him with an unhappy pout. She'd clearly worked very hard on this.

Being mocked by her brother like this was really annoying.

"Meow, you eat. I'm not hungry."

Chen Yi wrapped an egg in a towel and tapped it lightly. He didn't plan on trying the porridge—just eating a few eggs and sleeping for a while would do.

"Hmm?"

The look in Li Miao'er's eyes turned distinctly unfriendly. Her gaze fell on his moist lips... Should she try feeding him mouth-to-mouth?

That seemed like a good idea.

A mischievous smirk appeared as she reached out her small hand, forcibly pulling him into her lap and pinning him down.

"Meow! What are you doing?!"

Chen Yi struggled with all his might, but he was still held firmly by Sister Meow. It felt like she was about to do something very naughty.

"Brother, children who don't eat obediently get punished. So... let me feed you~"

Li Miao'er pressed her face against her brother's smooth neck with a sly grin, taking a deep breath. His soft, sweet body didn't resist, as if accepting everything.

"Meow, let me go, I can eat by myself!"

Feeling the warm breath against his neck, Chen Yi's body stiffened instantly, and he squirmed uncomfortably.

"Brother, you're injured. Let me feed you."

Li Miao'er giggled coyly. She scooped a spoonful of porridge, blew on it gently, then put it in her own mouth.

Not bad. The milk flavor is really strong.

She chewed carefully, then lowered her head to kiss her brother's lips, wanting to relive that sweet sensation once more.

Mmmph—

Chen Yi turned his head to the side, teeth clenched, eyes filled with resistance, his breathing growing shallow and hurried.

Li Miao'er rubbed his face with her small hands, attempting a few more times. But his resistance was too strong, so she reluctantly swallowed the oatmeal herself.

"Brother, stop fussing and eat properly, okay?"

She took another mouthful of porridge, looking like she wanted to try the method again.

"Li Miao'er! If you do that again, I'll really get angry!"

Chen Yi frowned, his expression genuinely furious. He truly couldn't accept this. He'd rather starve than be fed like that.
