Chapter 2 - When the Witch Falls

Before anyone could answer, the entity appeared behind Raki.

But Raki had multilayered shields.

The entity felt the resistance… then noticed something else.

Dev and Ricky had none.

She attacked them like they owed her their lives.

Ricky needed a shield to summon Kuro. Without it, he could only run. He darted between graves, hiding, but it didn't matter. The entity slipped through dimensions, finding him wherever he went.

Dev burned through his energy like crazy, protecting both of them. Raki stood back, watching, refusing to help.

Dev knew exactly why. She was furious about what they'd said earlier.

But now it was getting bad.

The entity kept raging, targeting them harder as time passed. Dev dashed and struck, forming magic knives again and again, but he knew it wasn't enough.

They needed Dhruv.

Only Dhruv's fully charged knife could kill this thing.

And he was nowhere to be seen.

Three hours passed.

Dev was still running.

His energy was almost gone. Even chugging Dark Energy drinks wasn't helping anymore. His body was wrecked.

Alya struggled to control the entity, barely managing to restrain it for one or two minutes every ten, just enough for Dev to breathe.

Finally, Dev collapsed.

"Raki, enough," Alya snapped. "You're pushing this too far. Do you want Dev dead? I know they're suckers, but this is too much."

That broke her.

Raki finally restored the shields to Dev and Ricky.

Then she went on the offensive.

Dark spears. Spells. Pure pressure.

Dev crawled over and collapsed beside Alya.

Shield restored, Ricky summoned Kuro.

The air twisted as Kuro appeared, and Ricky slipped into a full trance. Kuro chased the entity across dimensions, forcing it back into the real world again and again.

Raki siphoned its dark energy relentlessly.

Slowly, Dev recovered with Alya and Raki's help. He smirked at Raki, said nothing, and jumped back into the fight.

When Kuro slammed the entity back into reality one last time, Dev chained her in place.

Raki deployed multiple towers, draining the entity harder, funneling its energy into all three of them.

Then the entity snapped.

She shattered the chains.

Her rage focused on one target.

Raki.

She attacked from every direction. Two strikes were enough to break Raki's shield. Then she dragged her into another dimension.

Panic exploded.

Kuro tore through dimensions, one after another, searching.

Nothing.

Alya shut everything out and went into full concentration mode. After fifteen, maybe twenty minutes, she found it.

"Coordinates," she whispered.

That was all Kuro needed.

He vanished instantly.

In that dimension, he found Raki barely holding her ground, fighting on fumes. Kuro struck the entity from behind, blinding it for a few seconds. He grabbed Raki and pulled her into a different dimension, hiding her.

"Stay here," he told her. "I'll come back."

He knew the entity was hunting her. Keeping her hidden was the smartest move.

Kuro returned to the real world.

Just as expected, the entity was already there, searching for Raki.

Dev grinned.

Then he started dashing.

Again. And again. And again.

Constant damage. Constant annoyance.

He knew it wouldn't kill her.

But as long as she was busy with him, she wasn't finding Raki.

And right now, that was enough. 😈🔥
