I hurried home, my heart aching. I got a message from Safi saying:
"Lia, why would you say that to Malina?"
I stare at it for a second, I felt so annoyed. Why do they keep siding with her? She literally ruined my life, I told them about it multiple times. I walked angrily, trying to keep my tears from falling. My phone kept ringing from messages from Safi.
"Aren't you being a bit too mean?"
"Now you're ignoring my messages, wow!"
"Friendship for 16 years my ass, is this even how you treat your friends?"
When I finally reached my home, I immediately went to my bed to lay down.
"I'm tired.." I mumbled as tears began to fall. I closed my eyes to fell asleep,
A few hours later, I woke up, I checked my phone— my heart tightened, my breath heavy, its like a cold rose vine asphyxiating my body.
"Let's end this, I'm tired of you acting like a shitty brat."
A message from Tanz.
"What..?" I whispered— tears falling from my eyes uncontrollably,
"I want this fvck-ng friendship to end, I don't care if it was 16 years of friendship. I never thought you'll be like this, stop acting childish already."
A message from Safi.
I can't believe they'll say those, I feel like i'm drowning in an endless puddle of despondency.
"Why is this even happening? I don't wanna feel this again, let me please surpass this undying emotions.."
I said in my mind over and over again.
For a few days I didn't leave my bed, I didn't eat, didn't take any showers.
I heard someone opening my door,
"Now why won't she answer?!" A voice very familiar, my mom.
"Spinelia, are you home?!" she yelled, after a few minutes— she opened my bedroom door.
"Oh my lord! Why are you saying anything?! Look at you, you're a mess!" She said, I sat down and stare on the floor.
"You stink, did you even take a shower? I heard you've been skipping work?! Why? are you sick?" She said as her hand examined my temperature.
"I'm not.." I said weakly, I tried to stand up, but dizziness hit me— I immediately fell back to the bed again.
"Now, now, what even happened, huh? I tried asking Safi, but she won't even answer!" She said looking at me worriedly,
"it's— nothing.." my voice cracking from dehydration.
"This isn't nothing!" my mom yelled,
"Let's get you to hospital!" she spoke gently, "Have you been drinking your blood pills or something? You know you can't skip that, you're prone to blood cancer." she continued,
worriedly she look around to see where I placed my medicines,
"You're over reacting.." I mumbled weakly, she walked to my drawer to check if the medicine's there.
She found my medicine and took it,
"it's better to overreact, than not over-reacting!" she said as she gave me one pill,
"take a shower, we'll go to the hospital." she said as she guided me to my bathroom.
After I took a shower, I smelled some familiar food, Sinigang.
"Come eat first, you need strength!" my mom yelled softly as she sway her hands betokening me go and sit down on the chair in front of her.
I walked towards her as she gave me a scooped out soup and watch me eat,
"You eat, I already ate." she said reassuring me,
After minutes of eating, we finally head towards the hospital.
