As they ran out of the dorms,genki couldn't help but notice the advanced scenery and technology displayed. From the looks alone,it was hard to tell that such a world had monsters or any kind of crisis going on. He glanced over at the girl running beside slightly so as not to catch her attention. From the way she acted,it was clear that she was someone close to Nico, someone close enough to enter his room and stay the night.
"Um.. where are we headed to?"
The girl who had been looking forward the entire time turned to him
"What's up Nico... you're acting weird today, did your hangover get to you today..."
That explains why there was alcohol bottles lying in the room earlier. But I'm definitely not drunk though
"Who knows..."
Without saying another word, she turned to another building and waved at him before entering inside. As he glanced at my ID, he realized that the building in front of him was his class building and it certainly stood out from the rest.
The name on the ID read Nicodemus,no surname whatsoever. Behind it was a sign reading elite, which suggested that the building in front of him was for the elite group of students in the school.
The class written on it was year one gold,seat 213. Without wasting a minute,he ran into the building just before the bell rang. As he strolled through the corridors heading for his class,he noticed that most of the students attention were on him. Trying to evade thier gaze,he looked down while walking and bumped into a girl walking with a group of boys. While he immediately tried to apologise, the closest to him slams him into the wall while accompanying him with a punch to the gut. Despite that, nobody paid attention, nobody tried to call a teacher,they simply left him to his fate.
By the time they had left, his face was covered in bruises. They weren't significant enough to report about given that they intentionally avoided his face,so with nothing to do,he quietly walked to his class.
He arrived just as the teacher was entering an scrambled to find his seat while avoiding people. By the time he found it, he realized,he was two seats away from the strongest girl in the class. Looking back to his ID,he realized that he was being ranked in three aspects; academics, martial arts and magic. There was one last ranking but it isn't available to the first years. On his ID,it showed that he hasn't been appraised for his magic and martial arts yet but his academics was S rank meaning he was one of the smartest people in his year. The only exception was Lily, the girl sitting two seats away from him who was the only SS in the their year. He glanced at her and noticed that she was staring at her book now that the teacher was giving lectures in class.
When the period was over they were asked to move to the magic hall were they would be magic rank. while walking through the hallway, he was greeted by a familiar face, the boy who had earlier beat up Nico was standing by the windows calling out to him like they were childhood friends. Nico had initially planned to ignore them but his reflex unconsciously made him react and he walked to him like someone called by his superior in the army.
After processing what had happened recently,he concluded that nicodemus was someone who suffered bully through the early stages of his life and couldn't find a way to break out of it. thinking back, he probably realized that there was no way someone like this would readily save the world when he hasn't even stood up to the bullies not that he was one to decide.
while the bully talked to him, lily walked past them without as much as glancing in his direction,which was convenient enough for him since the one thing he didn't need was attention. by the time he got to class, the test had began so he hurried inside while the supervisor was distracted. grabbing a seat that was conveniently further away from most students,he waited for his turn. later that day, he ran into sky,the girl that left the dorm with him. she had actually stopped by the supermarket on her way to the dorms to grab a few things. he decided to avoid speaking much until he gathers enough knowledge on the habitat he suddenly found himself in and sky wasn't to bothered about it either
by the time he got to his room,he realized that he wasn't roommates with sky and only woke up to her because she slept in the previous day after a party held at his place for the first years. he had fully accessed the situation of the school during class today. from what he could remember, today's class was meant to access the student capabilities on their ranks before the entrance ceremony. after getting another S rank assessment for magic,he felt proud despite having an F rank for martial arts due to the fact that his rank couldn't be accessed. since they had one week until the entrance ceremony and there were no classes till then,he figured out what to do until a thought come to mind
wait a minute,wasn't i supposed to save the world?...
"how am i supposed to do that..."
as if it were a trance, Nico's mind transcended to a void realm,where he sat down in front of his former leader
