Chapter 16/2 – The Photo That Sums It All Up


One spring afternoon, Lysithea managed to get all eight children to sit in a row in the garden (a miracle).  


Joker and Harley in the center, sitting on the ground, holding hands, mischievous smiles on their faces.  


Sylvara and Rina making bunny ears behind their heads.  


Lirien holding a bouquet of singing flowers.  


Marina blowing colorful steam bubbles.  


Astrid hugging a teddy bear bigger than she is.  


Kuroe winking, with glowing runes on her cheek.  


Lysithea in the middle, hugging everyone, eyes misty with happiness.


On the back of the photo, she wrote in careful handwriting:  


"My eight noisy, messy, and absolutely perfect little miracles."


No one knows it yet, but this photo will travel worlds with them in the future.


Chapter 16/3 – Promise Under the Moon


Joker and Harley sneak onto the roof (again).  


They lie on their backs staring at the stars.


— J… do you think one day we'll really manage to make everyone happy our way?


First we grow up, get strong, learn everything.  


Then we build the greatest circus that ever existed.  


And anyone who doesn't want to laugh…  


Harley laughs softly and rests her head on his shoulder.  


They hook their little pinkies together.  


Seal it with a kiss on the cheek (the cutest and most dangerous pact-sealing in history).
