Chapter 7 - Rebuilding

Being led by Viktor Amon and Gemma arrived at the half-destroyed forge.

"This...this is all that's left," Viktor said with a clenched fist and a wavering voice

Approaching the boy, Gemma got down to his level and spoke, "I'm sorry about your master...but don't worry, we will honor him by making the best tools and the best things to protect the village he loved." Gemma spoke with a smile that seemed to cheer up the boy.

"Alright, Amon, shall we get started?" Gemma said as she stood up

"Just tell me what you need," Amon replied

"First, we need to remove all the base and make it an open furnace. In the second half, these tools need to be replaced since they were damaged. I have what I need to make new ones. Next, a fire hot enough to burn the living steel of yours..." as Gemma continued to list off all the changes that would need to be made, Amon let out a sigh and stepped forward

Holding his hand out, Amon used his plant magic and grew vines that picked up the fallen debris and placed it into a pile.

"I need to guys to make room...I don't want anyone getting hurt from what i';m about to do," Amon said as he took off his robe and placed it in his inventory

As the villagers took steps back and watched in anticipation, Amon held both hands out and used wind magic. Starting with a small ball of wind, Amon used that as the focus point and grew the size of the orb, causing it to grow and grow until it became as large as an orc.

Releasing the wind sphere, it ripped through the broken forge, shattering the wood and destroying the frame on impact.

Mana: 9430/15000

(That used alot more than I wanted) Amon sighed as he took a moment to catch his breath

"Alright, folks, most of the building is clear. The rest of you move the pieces left behind and be careful when lifting in groups," Vanessa said as he held Amon back

"You rest...I can see that took alot out of you."

"I'm fine, I can rest ocne the work is done," Amon said, standing up and about to summon for viens

"Amon, I understand you want to help up, but if you push yourself too much, you won't be able to help anyone...rest, now," Vanessa replied, his voice stern yet gentle.

With a small nod, Amon sat off to the side while the other cleaned up the remnants of the area.

As he waited, Amon used his earth magic and plant magic to create a small orb. By making it out of stone and using plant magic, he created a stone as durable as steel yet much lighter.

"Now if I can't add the regeneration property of my body," Amon said in an inaudible voice as he bit his finger and let the blood drop on the veins

Absorbing his blood, the plants became a slightly darker green. Holding the small rock out, Amon let out a tiny wind slash that hit the rock and only left a small scratch. But after a moment, the mark began to repair itself, returning to its original shape.

[I am surprised at the rate at which you are understanding your skills host]

(I am too...I don't know how, but anytime I consume something, it's like I gain all of their knowledge.)

[Interesting...]

(Yes, and even more, I fully understand what I consume, like with the orcs, I know the complete body design to the last detail... It's overwhelming at times.) Amon replied

"What are you doing? Didn't that elder tell you to rest?" Gemma asked as she sat next to Amon.

"I am resting. I just figured out what the main defense will be...this will allow the village to be safe when I am gone," Amon replied

"When you're gone...is this not your home?" Gemma asked

"No...I can't stay...There are other places, other small villages and lands suffering like them or worse...I plan to help them so now of them and ever weak and helpless like lambs to the slaughter," Amon spoke as he rubbed his scar with fury in his eyes.

"I was cautious about you at first, but I can tell that you really are a good person...don't worry, you have my support through helping all these people and more," Gemma said, holding her hand out

"...Thank you, Gemma...truly," Amon replied as he shook her hand and gave a small smile.

Spending the rest of the day clearing out the area and setting up the new outline of the forge with stone and timber, the day finally ended with everyone satisfied with the work they accomplished.
