"Today I will be testing your limits," Dax announced, voice carrying across the artificial battlefield without effort. "Both physical power and magical power will be tested—and this will be done in battle."
He pointed upward toward the violet-streaked sky.
"Firstly, command your wyverns to the skies."
The beasts didn't wait for verbal orders. With powerful wingbeats that sent gusts ripping across the crimson rock spires, the squad's wyverns launched skyward in perfect unison—scales glinting under the alien lightning, tails whipping like banners.
The squad held their reactions, but tension rippled through them like a current.
"Cain. Purple. Follow them."
Dax's command was calm. The two wyverns obeyed instantly, surging upward to join the formation at the center of the flock.
Dax turned his gaze to the squad.
"Zain and Nadia—you shall face 01."
He smiled at Zain.
