Ezra
Allen stood there staring at me as I tried to hold back the laughter. It was clear that he wasn't angry but I still wanted to rub it in further. So I increased my laughter and tried to mimic his earlier attempt at trying to cover his nose after I complimented him. That was when he closed his eyes as if regretting his actions.
"Stop laughing at me, Ezra," he commanded, trying to project his full royal authority but failing miserably. "I mean it. It's not fair, you know. I'm the sick one here, you're not supposed to be doing anything that would increase the risk. You should be taking care of me."
I wiped a stray tear from my cheek, resting my hands on my hips while my shoulders still shook with laughter. "Oh yeah? Make me. Beg me, your Majesty, and maybe I'll consider stopping."
I knew that I was playing with fire, but since when did I ever care to take precautions? For all I knew, I'd been playing with fire for the longest, and I wasn't going to stop anytime soon.
