Chapter 6 - My Empress Master

"Boy, once you're in hell, remember this well for your next life, some people can be provoked, but others you must never, ever touch!"

Feng Tian looked hard at Ye Lingyun. His voice was very quiet and serious. Then a bunch of gold flames started burning in his hand.

The Phoenix Flame!

Disciples of the Phoenix Sect primarily mastered fire-based spiritual techniques, and the Phoenix Flame was the essential foundation technique of the Sect. The flames in Feng Tian's hand had already reached a state of perfection, causing the temperature of the square to rise rapidly. The fire was so strong that it could turn Ye Lingyun to ash in an instant!

Feng Tian clenched his fingers and the Phoenix Flame in his palm got smaller and turned into a serpent that was about three feet long. The serpent's scales were distinct, its ferocious silhouette wreathed in red flames, and its eyes burned with a crimson fire.

With a ruthless gaze locked onto Ye Lingyun, he snarled, "Die!"

Feng Tian swung his hand hard and fast!

The fiery serpent let out a hiss, opened its bloody maw, and lunged toward Ye Lingyun!

Ye Lingyun was really close to Feng Tian so he felt the worst of the Phoenix Flames heat. The back of Ye Lingyun was completely soaked with sweat., and the scorching air made his skin sting.

Watching the serpent draw closer, Ye Lingyun hardened his resolve. Since you and your idiot disciple insist on killing me, I might as well send you along too!

[System! I want to exchan.....]

When Ye Lingyun was going to use the Great Emperor Trial Card , a clear and majestic phoenix cry suddenly rang in his ears!

In the second this really cool person in a red outfit flashed by the side of his eyes, moving too fast to be clearly seen.

BOOM!!!

Before anyone could react, the red-clothed figure stood before Ye Lingyun, slowly raising a hand looking really nice and fair.

The moment the fiery serpent touched her palm it was like when snow meets a hot sun; without even a whimper, it dissolved into sparks and vanished into the air.

The remaining heat waves swept out like a tsunami. Enveloped by the blast, Ye Lingyun instinctively closed his eyes. When he opened them again, his eyes immediately locked onto the familiar figure before him.

Just like in his previous life, no matter the extremity of the situation, this figure in red would always descend from the heavens at the moment of life and death to resolve the crisis, like his own special guardian angel.

Her fire-like red robes trailed on the ground, the hem embroidered with dark gold phoenix patterns. Her dark hair fell like a waterfall to her waist, loosely bound by a single gold phoenix hairpin.

She slowly lowered her hand and turned her head. It was a face of peerless beauty, capable of toppling cities. A faint, lingering smile graced her lips as her gaze fell upon Ye Lingyun.

Looking at that face from his dreams, his heart trembled, and he barely suppressed the urge to cry out, "Master."

Feng Yueyao, his master from his previous life and the person who meant the most to him.

"The Princess?!"

Seeing the red-clad woman appear, Feng Tian's ruthlessness and rage were instantly replaced by shock. He couldn't understand why the noble Princess would suddenly appear and save such an outer disciple.

He frowned, suppressing his suspicion, and asked in a deep voice, "Your Highness, what is the meaning of this? This outer disciple deserves a thousand deaths. Please, do not interfere!"

Feng Yueyao acted as if she hadn't heard a word. Her faint smile remained as she looked at Ye Lingyun with eyes curved like crescent moons. She raised her fair hand and gently patted his head with a doting air.

The soft touch and the warm feeling were really familiar to him and reassuring as it did in his previous life.

"I'm here, it's okay. Don't worry, you... little ~dummy!"

Feng Yueyao's voice was ethereal and clear, with a soft, sweet lilt at the end. She was a world away from her usual cold and majestic persona.

The disciples, around them were completely shocked.

Feng Yueyao turned toward the ashen-faced Feng Tian. Her red lips moved, and her voice remained calm, yet it carried an aura that looked down upon all living things: "From today on, this boy is my disciple. Anyone who wants to touch him must get through me first!"

Xue Lang watched from the side, he is thinking about the reason of why couldn't such good fortune happen to him?Fuuucckkk!!!

Feng Tian froze, then said urgently, "This boy is ruthless! He crippled my disciple Lin Yanchen and shattered his Golden Core and destroyed his meridians! Please, Your Highness, see the truth!"

Hearing this, Feng Yueyao let out a laugh. "Heh. Your disciple deliberately provoked him. What does it have to do with me if he's crippled now?"

When Ye Lingyun heard those words the corner of her mouth moved a little. It was just like her; showing the same dominance to outsiders as she had in his past life.

Having finished, she grabbed Ye Lingyun's arm and turned to lead him away.

"Your Highness!"

Seemingly having made a decision, Feng Tian stepped forward abruptly, blocking them again. His face turned flushed, and veins bulged on his forehead as he suppressed immense rage and indignation. He clenched his teeth and said, "I cannot stop you from protecting him, but my disciple cannot be crippled for nothing! This boy must give me an explanation. Otherwise, I, Feng Tian, will not let him leave, even if it costs me my life!"

The pressure of a Saint started to fill the air once again. However, this timeFeng Tian made sure to keep it under control; clearly, he didn't dare be truly disrespectful to the Princess, but he refused to compromise easily.

"Feng Tian."

Feng Yueyao spoke calmly, simply calling him by his name. When those two words came out of her mouth it was like someone hit Feng Tian's mind using a hammer. A golden vertical pupil suddenly appeared in his mind, flowing with an ancient, holy light. As its gaze fell, his very soul began to tremble.

"Thud!"

Without warning, Feng Tian's legs gave out. He fell heavily to his knees on the bluestone square with a dull thud. He trembled uncontrollably, and cold sweat instantly soaked his hair.

"Ph... Phoenix God..." His voice wavered and he was pushing his head hard into the ground..

Feng Yueyao is not playful anymore. She looks like a different person now. Standing straight and looking down at the trembling Feng Tian, her eyes held no warmth. She was like an unfeeling deity, her voice is very cold: "You want to stop me?"

Feng Tian shook on the ground, whispering, "No... I wouldn't dare... your subordinate wouldn't dare..."

Ye Lingyun was standing on the side watching everything and starting to understand something. He knew that in terms of current cultivation, Feng Yueyao was not Feng Tian's equal. However, the legends of the Feng Imperial Clan were not lies, they were the descendants of the ancient divine beast, the Phoenix. Pure Phoenix blood flowed through their veins, and this bloodline was strictly hierarchical; the main branch suppressed the other branches.

Feng Tian was merely a descendant of a side branch, his bloodline diluted over countless generations. But Feng Yueyao was different. She was of the main branch, the first direct successor of the Phoenix in the ten-thousand-year history of the Divine Phoenix Empire! The Phoenix blood in her body was incredibly pure. By bloodline pressure alone, she could strike terror into the souls of side-branch descendants, leaving them unable to resist.

Feng Yueyao didn't give Feng Tian another look. Her cold eyes vanished instantly, replaced by her previous tenderness. She gently took Ye Lingyun's wrist and her voice softened: "Let's go."

She waved her hand lightly, and as spiritual energy flowed through her fingertips, a spatial rift was suddenly torn open. She leaned down to hold Ye Lingyun by the waist and, with a light tap of her toes, led him into the rift.

When Ye Lingyun came to he found himself in a courtyard that he knew well. But before Ye Lingyun could even get his balance back he felt extremely tired. This was because he had been trying to resist the Saints pressure and he was also feeling the bad effects of a secret technique he had used.

His vision went black, and his body just kept going down.

The expected impact never came. Instead, he was met by a warm, jade-like embrace. The faint scent of the flowers lingered at the tip of his nose, familiar and comforting.
