Chapter 19 Part 2 From Office Punishments to Wedding Games

"Fun or not, punishment or not, I'm not picky. I'll work here someday maybe even be Mr. Lin's personal assistant. You'll see!" Zhang Zeng couldn't resist bragging.

"Ahem, Miss, did you say you want to work here?" Suddenly, a balding, squint‑eyed creep appeared, and without warning, shoved his hands under Zhang's arms to maul her chest.

Naturally, she protested but only Lin Jiabi could stay truly calm in such situations. He pinned Zhang tightly, murmuring, "You want to work here? Treat this as an interview. If you can't handle even this, how will you cope? Come on, now you're pretty, soft chest, perky ass come to the recreation room with me."

Despite her wide‑eyed stare, she was dragged away, clearly hoping we'd intervene.

Tan Ying called to a passing guard, but he said, "He's an executive authorized to 'draft' women anywhere on these premises. Besides, you're not employees yet, so you don't have workplace protections. The recreation room is for on‑duty fun; after hours, the girls go home."

"Well, nothing we can do then… hey, why are you blocking me?" Tan snapped as a younger man stepped in front of her, hands openly squeezing her chest. But since he was good‑looking, she only blushed.

"Hey, pretty, bringing you to the rec room too? I charge, you know," she teased.

"Nah, not that. My department's got team‑building tonight, but we're short a prize. Want to be the special prize?" he grinned.

"Me, as a prize?"

"Yeah, special prize. Whoever wins gets to take you home for a whole day. We usually use company girls or contractors, but nothing fresh lately. Saw you in the lobby young, pretty so, interested?"

Tan bit her lip, thought, then shot back, "How much?"

"Fifty?"

"Fifty for a night? And there'll be more than one guy. Don't be stingy."

"Fine, eighty."

"A hundred. Big company don't nickel and dime."

The man laughed and led her off; she waved cheerfully as she left.

Feng chuckled. "Let's go before someone grabs me. Busy day."

"You take money for this often?" I asked. At local pay scales, it wasn't much just token compensation.

Turned out, "compensation" for being raped had begun as a few bills for ripped clothes, and gradually evolved into girls naming prices up front.

"It's just pocket money. No point charging a fortune," another admitted.

"If there were an app that made it easier for women to do this and easier for men to find us, would you use it?" I asked without thinking.

Feng's eyes lit up. "That's clever! Side money would be easier. Were you pitching that to Lin?"

"The future's uncertain."

"Don't talk nonsense. You know his daughter. Hand it to her and it'll be a city‑wide craze. Anyway, I'm off. Hope to see you again, Mr. Chen."

City‑wide craze? Would Lin Jiabi ever need such a thing?

I watched her sashay away in a sheer chiffon blouse and black pencil skirt, hips and legs swinging hypnotically. No wonder her school picked her.

I'd see a similar sight the very next day only in pink and red.

Colored confetti floated in the air, rainbow streamers flew overhead.

At the front of the crowd, a red wedding umbrella shaded the groom in black, who awkwardly carried a looped red carpet toward the lead wedding car.

I stood by the curb, a little dazed not sure which car I should get into.

"Yayi, over here this car!" A ravishing beauty in a bright red dress waved me over. Unlike the low‑cut pink bridesmaid gowns, her dress had a high collar, wrapping even her neck.

She was the bride's sister‑in‑law. By seniority she outranked the bride, but her figure, outlined by that tight dress, was still irresistible.

"Yayi, hop in. It's half an hour to Yunyun's new place. I haven't had time to talk to you Yingzhi's yours in this car. Ever tried her car head game? Haha."

I was supposed to come with Lin Jiabi, but all night she hadn't called. Her phone was off; messages unread.

So I rang Yunyun and came early for the fun curious about this world's wedding customs.

The Zhang home was festively dressed: double‑happiness characters on the doors, celebratory couplets. One character was missing clearly reserved for some big "reveal."

Getting inside was tricky the bride's friends blocked the door, demanding red envelopes. Since I'd be having my way with them at the banquet anyway, I humored them.

Each envelope was tucked into the deep cleavage of a pink dress; I made sure no one escaped my hands. The girls giggled as they collected.

Once things got lively, a man ran up and grabbed me in a bear hug; I hugged back and patted his shoulder.

"Yong‑ge, long time no see. Congratulations, big brother."

"Yayi, thanks. We've all been hoping to see you. You look much healthier. I hear you're the Lin Miss's assistant now impressive, bright future. Just watch and enjoy today; no need to help. Tonight at the banquet, have a few drinks enjoy the bridesmaids, haha."

"Thank you, Yong‑ge. I'll be sure to drink with you. If you hadn't saved me back then, who knows what would've happened."

"Don't thank me. It was Yingzhi who spotted you on the street. My whole family thinks you're lucky we like you."

People here really were welcoming especially the Miss. Maybe it was just my luck. Could this be this world's version of a "golden finger"?

Around us, besides bridesmaids, stood female relatives married aunts, young wives with children, kids running around.

Suddenly, deep moans drifted from a back room. Slipping out of the main hall, I asked, "Is that Yunyun in there?"

"No Yingzhi with my dad. Yunyun's in her room," Zhang Yong replied casually. "Dad missed Yingzhi; she's just fulfilling her duty. Ah, meet my mom."

Greeting their smiling mother while "Father‑in‑law… too thick… can't take it…" echoed from the other room was surreal. Feeling awkward, I asked if I could go congratulate the bride.

Zhang Yunyun looked especially radiant in a red bridal dress, hair full of pins, bouquet in hand, flanked by her two best friends in pink.

"Yayi, you're here! Do I look pretty?"

"Of course you do you look amazing. But your dress is thick; how's anyone supposed to get at your luck?" I pressed her chest through the layers and got no feel at all. She and the bridesmaids traded knowing smiles.

"All right, I'm not Miss Lin. Don't get too handsy," she chided.

"You're the star today. Tonight I'll have to beg the gods for plenty of blessings," I joked.
