Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: Magikarp: I’ve done it, Master Fish!

Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, five days had passed.

In Dragon Sanctuary, the land was covered with beautiful flowers, plants, and trees, a truly breathtaking sight.

By the lake, a tall and upright young man sat on a large bluestone, holding a fishing rod, quietly fishing.

Whoosh!

The float suddenly sank.

Adrian quickly pulled up the rod and caught a Seadra, its body covered with sharp spines and its tail curled.

But Adrian's eyes remained calm, as the cheat ability prompt did not appear.

This indicated that this Seadra was one Adrian had caught before.

"Recently, the rate of repeat catches has been getting higher and higher."

Adrian sighed, letting the Seadra, now full, swim away.

A few days ago, Adrian had pokémon line up to bite the hook, which was indeed a spectacular sight. The fishing efficiency was high, and the rewards were abundant, to the point of being overwhelming.

However, Adrian also discovered a situation: powerful pokémon like Gyarados and Kingdra in the lake seemed to be very picky.

Adrian's bait was not attractive enough to these pokémon, only drawing in intermediate forms like Horsea and Seadra.

This left Adrian quite disappointed!

After all, the more powerful and rare the pokémon, the more generous the rewards received upon catching it.

In addition, the consequence of receiving so many rewards was that Adrian essentially fished out most of the lake in three days, whereas it would normally take ten days to half a month.

Now that most of the pokémon in the lake had been caught by Adrian once, it was much harder for him to get rewards.

Basically, for every four or five pokémon caught now, only one was a new catch that could yield a reward.

"Forget it! That's enough for today!"

Shaking his head, Adrian put away his fishing rod and immersed his consciousness into the fishing space.

Inside the space, countless rewards floated, emitting a faint glow.

These were Adrian's gains from the past few days.

Among them, energy cubes were the most numerous; even after giving several to Gyarados and Pichu daily, over a hundred still remained.

Coupled with the hundreds of energy cubes harvested from the Seaking Fishing Tournament, the quantity was even more enormous.

Too many to use!

Simply too many to use!

Next were TMs: 7 Dragon Dances, 7 Dragon Breaths, 5 Dragon Claws, 4 Dragon Tails, 3 Outrages, 3 Rain Dances… As for TMs with single quantities, there were even more, covering a wide range of types, with all attributes represented.

Finally, there were item rewards, including Wings of Vigor, ability candy, Dragon Scale, X Attack, and Dragon Bone, all excellent items.

It's no exaggeration to say that if Adrian were to fully utilize all these rewards, the strength of Gyarados and Pichu would definitely skyrocket.

Thinking of this, Adrian glanced at Gyarados, who was still training under the waterfall not far away, and said with a smile, "However, Gyarados has been incredibly motivated during training these past few days, and its physical fitness has significantly improved. I'll give it these rewards a bit later!"

After being crushed and defeated by Feraligatr, Gyarados turned its shame into courage, training extremely hard, and the results were naturally visible.

To maintain Gyarados's passionate state, Adrian had not taught it the TMs he had acquired these past few days, only ensuring it had a steady supply of daily energy cubes.

There was no other way; he was afraid Gyarados would become arrogant and lazy!

Looking at Magikarp, who was following Gyarados up the waterfall, Adrian's heart stirred: "Since I've fished almost everything, it's time to arrange Magikarp's Bounce. Clair even asked me about the progress this morning. But for Magikarp to learn the Bounce move in five days, Clair should be satisfied with this progress."

With that thought, Adrian called out loudly, summoning Clair's Magikarp.

"Karoo~"

Clair's Magikarp was indeed extraordinary; its physical fitness was extremely robust, and its eyes were bright and spirited, completely lacking the dullness of ordinary Magikarp.

"Good, very energetic!"

Adrian stroked Magikarp's dorsal fin and said with a chuckle, "Magikarp, your foundation has passed, meeting the requirements to master the 'Bounce' move. Now, I will guide you."

"Karoo~"

Magikarp's eyes lit up, extremely excited.

Is it finally time to officially enter the move teaching phase?

Skill Master, I will work hard!

"First, close your eyes, clear your mind of distractions, and pay attention to my guidance."

In a trance, Adrian seemed to transform into an enlightened monk, his words full of profound and mysterious meaning, gently coaxing, "Magikarp, do you feel the flow of water?"

"Karoo~"

Magikarp closed its eyes and carefully sensed the direction and speed of the water flow, as well as the turbulence of the surrounding currents.

Magikarp is a water-type pokémon, so sensing water was easy for it.

"Very good!"

Adrian nodded and continued to guide, "Now, carefully sense the flow of wind. This is key to mastering the 'Bounce' move…"

"Karoo~"

Upon hearing the word 'key,' Magikarp's expression immediately became serious... Meanwhile, hundreds of meters away in an open space, Clair was instructing Wille's pokémon in their training.

Besides Gyarados and Charizard, Wille also brought Kingdra, Altaria, Flygon, and Tropius.

Although not all of these pokémon possessed the Dragon type, they all had Dragon lineage and had mastered the 'Dragon Dance' move.

"Too stiff! How many times have I told you, don't always just spin in place during Dragon Dance. Your movements need to be flexible and varied, so you can strengthen yourself while dodging the opponent's attacks. If you get hit by an enemy's attack, your Dragon Dance will be meaningless…"

Clair was like a strict teacher, her dragon whip constantly cracking in the air.

Skill Secret Arts are specialized forms of skills!

Taking the Dragon-type move 'Dragon Breath' as an example, conventional Dragon Breath training involves continuously improving skill proficiency, enhancing skill power, shortening skill execution time, and increasing the trigger probability of additional effects, with all three benefits progressing simultaneously and steadily.

However, if it's a Secret Art, it means abandoning the comprehensive approach and instead focusing on a specific characteristic of the skill for targeted enhancement, which makes the training difficulty much lower.

And the 'Dragon Dance' Secret Art of the Dragon Master Family focuses on enhancing the flexibility of the move, aiming to dodge the opponent's attacks while strengthening oneself.

Because any strengthening move is always an object of strict defense for enemies.

After all, once a pokémon completes its strengthening, it can truly sweep through a team, so it must be guarded against.

"Clair, let's take a break!"

Looking at the exhausted pokémon, sweat beaded on Wille's forehead.

"Alright! Everyone, take a half-hour break!"

Clair nodded and put away her dragon whip.

The Dragon Dance Secret Art requires great effort to master; it's not something that can be achieved overnight.

As soon as she finished speaking, Wille's pokémon immediately collapsed to the ground.

Seeing this, Wille quickly went forward to feed them poffins and massaged them to relieve fatigue, reducing the training pressure on the pokémon.

When he saw Adrian still sitting leisurely by the lake, Wille felt a surge of annoyance: "It's been five days! At his age and stage, how can he be so content with fishing?"

Thinking this, Wille stomped over to Clair's side and pretended to casually ask, "Clair, how is Magikarp's Bounce move coming along?"

Clair pursed her lips when she heard this, saying nothing.

Magikarp had been training with Adrian for five days, but as far as Clair knew, Adrian didn't seem to have taught any skill-related knowledge.

Adrian, on the other hand, spent his days fishing, thoroughly enjoying himself.

This morning, Clair had even specifically gone to ask Adrian about the progress, but Adrian had confidently said, 'Everything is going smoothly; Magikarp should master the Bounce move very soon.'

This reply left Clair feeling somewhat at a loss.

However, since the agreed-upon time hadn't arrived, Clair couldn't really get angry.

Seeing Clair's expression wasn't good, Wille immediately stopped talking.

But just then, a large fish suddenly leaped out of the distant lake, soaring over a hundred meters into the air.

"This is… Bounce?"

Clair stared at the scene in astonishment, exclaiming in surprise, "Magikarp learned Bounce?"

Wille, meanwhile, was dumbfounded, muttering, "It really learned it??"

In mid-air, Magikarp was wantonly showing off.

I, your fish lord, made it!!!
