I didn't sleep properly.
Not because of homework.
Not because of chocolate trauma.
But because of one thought:
If Jayden won't confess...

And today was perfect.
Second project day at my house.
Section E arriving at 1 PM.
And most importantly—
Honey is coming.
Daughter of my dad's close friend.
My so-called "childhood playmate."
Technically true.
We played once when we were five.

I texted her yesterday explaining everything.
Her reply?
"So you want me to make someone jealous?I support drama."

Exactly at 12:45 PM, Honey arrived.
Long hair, confident smile, and chaotic energy.
She looked at me and smirked.
"So where's the target?"
I almost laughed.
"Relax. Just act close. Very close."

She cracked her knuckles. "Say less."

Jay's POV
The moment I entered Kiefer's house, I felt something was wrong.
Too calm.
Too organized.
Too suspicious.
Section E exploded into noise as usual.
Calix and Felix started fighting over extension wires.
Yuri stole my notebook.
Mayo was eating before we even started.
Normal chaos.
But then—
She walked in.
Tall. Pretty. Smiling.
And Kiefer—
Kiefer's face lit up like Christmas.
"Honey!" he said.

She ran toward him and hugged him.

My soul left my body.

Honey looked at me briefly and smiled politely.
Why is she glowing?
Why is she pretty? No she is not that much preety ...
Why is she standing so close to him?
Kiefer wrapped an arm around her shoulders casually.
Casually.
"Guys, this is Honey," he announced. "My childhood sweetheart."
The room screamed.
"WHAT?!" Calix shouted.
Felix dropped a pen. "SINCE WHEN?"
Yuri gasped dramatically. "Plot twist!"
Ci-n : " then what was Jay?"
I stood there.
Blinking.
Childhood.
Sweetheart.
My brain replayed something.
He used to call someone Sunflower.
He used to wait for someone.

Don't think.
He looked at Honey and smiled softly.
"We used to fight over crayons."
My eye twitched.
That's OUR memory.

Honey giggled and played along perfectly. "He cried when I didn't share."

Kiefer laughed. "I was emotional."
Section E was eating this up.
Josh whispered, "This is better than Netflix."
Mayo dramatically fanned herself.
And me?
I was standing there like a statue.
Why is my chest tight?
Why do I want to throw a pillow at her?
Why is he smiling like that?
Kiefer's POV
Oh.
Oh this is working.
Jayden hasn't spoken in three full minutes.
Three.
That's a record.
He keeps glancing at us.
Then looking away.
Then glancing again.
Honey leaned into me slightly and whispered, "He's dying."
I whispered back, "Good."
She suddenly grabbed my arm.
"I missed you, Kief," she said loudly.
Kief.
No one calls me that except—
Jay.
I saw it.
Jayden's fingers tightened around his pencil.
Interesting.
I smiled at Honey softly.
"I missed you too."
The room made dramatic noises.
Felix clutched his heart. "Young love."
Calix shouted, "Bro forgot us!"
I looked at Jayden deliberately.
"Some people move on from their best friends," I said casually. "Especially when new people come."
The air shifted.
Jayden's head snapped toward me.
Good.
Feel it.
Jay's POV
Move on?
Best friend?
New people?
Oh.
Oh he wants to play like that?
Fine.
I crossed my arms.
"Wow," I said casually. "That was fast."
Kiefer looked at me. "What?"
"Replacing people," I replied lightly. "Very efficient."
Section E paused.
They looked between us.
Then shrugged.
Calix whispered to Felix, "Why does this feel intense?"
Felix shrugged. "I'm just here for snacks."
Honey tilted her head at me sweetly.
"And you are?"
I forced a smile. "Jayden."
She looked at Kiefer. "Oh. The best friend?"
Best friend.
BEST FRIEND.
I felt something sting.
Kiefer smiled slowly. "Used to be."
Used to be?

Honey suddenly held his hand.

I stood up.
"I need water," I announced.
Denzel blinked. "You just drank."
"I'm dehydrated."
From jealousy.
Kiefer's POV
Jayden almost knocked over a chair.
This is gold.
Absolute gold.
Honey leaned closer and whispered, "He's about to explode."
I smirked. "Let him."
She suddenly said loudly, "Kiefer, remember when you said you'd marry me?"
The room went silent.
My jaw almost dropped.
That wasn't in the script.
But I recovered.
"Yeah," I said smoothly. "I was five. But I meant it."
Jayden choked on air.
Yuri patted his back. "Are you okay?"
He coughed violently. "Dust."
Calix blinked. "There is no dust."
Honey giggled and rested her head lightly on my shoulder.
Jayden stood up again.
"I think the air conditioner is broken."
"It's working," Felix replied.
"No. It's not."
He walked toward the AC remote aggressively
Jay's POV
Why is she touching him like that?
Why is he allowing it?
Why does my heart feel like it's in a boxing match?
Section E was laughing at something Mayo said.
They have no idea there's a war happening.
I looked at Kiefer.
He was smiling at Honey.
Softly.
That used to be—
Stop.
Stop thinking like that.
I walked back and sat down.
Honey suddenly said, "Kiefer, can you sit beside me?"
He did.
Of course he did.
And then—
He put his arm behind her.
Behind her.
Not touching.
But close enough.
I snapped.
"So this is the project?" I said loudly. "Romance studies?"
Everyone laughed.
Kiefer looked at me calmly.
"You seem bothered."
"I'm not bothered," I replied instantly.
Too instantly.
Calix whispered, "He's bothered."
Felix nodded. "Very bothered."
I glared at them.
"I just think," I continued dramatically, "that maybe some people forget their best friends too easily."
Silence.
Honey looked between us.
Kiefer leaned back casually.
"Some best friends disappear without explanation," he said smoothly.
Oh.
Oh that hit.
My throat went dry.
Section E didn't catch it.
But I did....
Kiefer's POV
There it is.
That reaction.
That pain.
Only one person reacts like that.
Honey squeezed my arm lightly.
I looked at Jayden.
"Don't worry," I said calmly. "I'm just... getting interested in someone new."
The room gasped dramatically.
Mayo whispered, "This is getting spicy."
Jayden stood up again.
"You know what?" he said. "Great. Good for you. Amazing. Wonderful. Marvelous . Outstanding. Superb. Congratulations."
Felix blinked. "Why does that sound like a threat?"
Jayden grabbed a pillow and threw it at me.
Honey laughed.
"Oh he's cute when jealous," she said.
"I AM NOT JEALOUS!" Jayden shouted.
Everyone froze.
Then slowly—
Calix whispered, "He said it."
Yuri grinned. "He said the word."
Jayden looked horrified.
"I meant— I'm not... invested."
"Very invested," Denzel confirmed.
Jayden stood up so fast the chair fell.
"I need to check something outside."
"There is nothing outside!" Felix yelled.
"I left... my... dignity!" Jayden shouted.
He stormed toward the door.
Then came back.
" I forgot...I didn't bring dignity," he muttered.
Section E died.
Jay's POV
Abort mission.
Abort mission.
I am losing control.
Why is he smiling like that?
Why does he look satisfied?
Honey leaned closer to him again.
"Kiefer," she whispered loudly enough for me to hear, "should I stay for dinner?"
Dinner?
DINNER?!
He looked at me while answering.
"Of course. Stay."
I stood up again.
"I just remembered I have something important."
"What?" Rory asked.
"I... need to reorganize my bag."
Felix blinked. "For what reason?"
"For emotional reasons!"
Silence.
Everyone stared.
I sat back down slowly.
Calm down.
You are Jayden.
You are not Jay.
You are not—
Kiefer suddenly stood up.
Walked toward me.
Leaned down slightly.
And said quietly so only I could hear—
"You okay?"
His voice changed.
Soft.
Concerned.
That made it worse.
"Perfect," I said stiffly.
He smirked slightly.
Got you, his eyes said.
Kiefer's POV
He's burning.
He's absolutely burning.
But he still hasn't exploded fully.
So I delivered the final blow.
"Honey," I said loudly, "maybe you should come more often. I think I've been forgetting someone important."
Jayden looked up instantly.
"And remembering someone else."
Boom.
Silence.
Then—
Jayden stood up dramatically.
"Fine!" he said. "Marry her! Adopt dogs! Have five kids! Name them Chocolate One, Chocolate Two, Chocolate Three—"
Section E collapsed.
Felix fell to the floor laughing.
Calix screamed, "NOT CHOCOLATE ONE!"
Honey almost choked.
I tried not to laugh.
Jayden realized what he said.
He froze.
Then slowly sat down.
"I don't care," he muttered.
I leaned closer.
"Oh, you care."
His jaw tightened.
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
Section E started chanting like it was a boxing match.
"FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!"
Honey clapped dramatically. "I support chaos."
And as Jayden glared at me—
I knew.
This wasn't just jealousy.
This was personal.
This was emotional.
This was history.
And inside my head, I smiled.
Jayden.
Or should I say...
Jay.
You can deny it.
You can act.
You can hide behind sarcasm.
But jealousy?
Jealousy doesn't lie.
And today—
