Amara's POV
I could see in Garrett's eyes that he understood this blood vendetta could only conclude with death, yet a desperate spark of hope still flickered there.
"I can make amends for what happened years ago..." he offered.
"Four lives from my family," I replied. "What could you possibly offer in return?"
At that moment, Garrett realized negotiation was impossible.
He would never accept my terms.
Not only did he refuse to die, but even if he chose suicide, what assurance did he have that I'd honor my word?
With this thought, Garrett released a bitter laugh.
"Then we'll settle this through our own means!"
I slipped back into the car slowly. After shutting the door, I rolled down the window.
My icy, menacing stare locked onto Garrett. "Bring it on."
