Bella's POV
I watched Richard squirm as he found himself trapped between opposing forces. At this crucial moment, he couldn't afford to show any lingering loyalty to me.
Richard turned to Victor with desperation. "Your Highness, don't believe her wild claims. I once hoped she'd change her ways, but she's clearly past saving now. I put everything in your hands."
Victor's eyes locked onto me, suddenly blazing with curiosity.
"Intriguing," he said, studying me. "Richard, your daughter is... quite captivating."
Richard gaped at Victor, and from the anxious look on his face, I could tell he was worried about the Prince's sudden interest in me.
While he wrestled with confusion, Victor spoke again. "I'll grant you one opportunity. But understand this—if you can't prove you're innocent, then..."
I cut him off before he could finish. "I'll take whatever punishment you decide, Your Highness."
"Perfect." Approval spread across Victor's features. "Take Bella to Lilac Woods."
