Franklin gazed at Julian with complete bewilderment, finding only icy detachment and loathing reflected back at him.
That bewilderment instantly transformed into searing fury.
'I'm his father!' Franklin thought in disbelief. 'How could my own flesh and blood turn against me in the name of righteousness?'
Yet this wasn't the moment for heated exchanges. Leopold's authoritative stare had already fixed itself on Franklin, suffocating him with its intensity.
"Mr. Sinclair, are these allegations accurate?" Leopold's tone stayed controlled, though everyone assembled could detect the wrath brewing beneath his composed exterior.
Franklin dropped to his knees immediately, his voice shaking as he begged, "Your Majesty, these are fabricated accusations! I'm being framed!"
"My devotion to Your Majesty has never wavered. How could I commit such acts?"
