Lucius's eyes burned red with fury, consumed by an overwhelming need to destroy every last one of them - each bastard who had tormented and degraded Bella. And that's exactly what he intended to do.
Leo's face went white as Lucius moved toward him, sword raised.
"General, stop! You can't do this!" Leo's voice cracked with desperation. "These men have bled alongside you in battle. Kill them now and you'll destroy the army's morale. They're just women - why risk everything for people who mean nothing to you?"
Leo couldn't understand why Lucius had lost all control today, when he was usually so composed.
Lucius's dark eyes blazed with rage.
He thought with bitter contempt, 'Just women? Bella could never be just any woman. She's everything to me.'
'But what did those bastards put her through?'
