Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Eleanor's POV;

I tried to get my voice out but it wouldn't come out ,before I realised tears spilled down on my hands. I didn't want Silas to see me like this so I turned away from him .

He reached his hand out ,but I didn't dare to look at him. I always wanted to say what I was holding back to someone but I never had the chance to. In a place that forced people to act like weapons,I knew I had no place . I didn't want to die here, so I learned to swallow my weakness. I showed myself stronger than I was, even when it became a burden for me

As time passed I couldn't bring myself to speak ,Silas didn't rush me . I may not be much to him but he was the first friend I made in years. I probably looked pathetic. Silas was patient ,he looked very upset too. Probably he was thinking about the mission, but I knew I wouldn't be able to focus if I didn't get this out of my chest.

I finally spoke.

"It started when I was ten," I said quietly. "I had a normal life. A loving family."

I paused.

"My parents worked in weapon manufacturing."

I swallowed. "We lived normally—until I discovered I had an ability. I was happy. I thought I was special."

I let out a shaky breath. "But when I told my parents, they were terrified. They knew what the organization would do to me."

"They tried to run. They had good positions—they mattered. So when we escaped, the boss himself got involved." I wanted to continue, but the tears on my eyes threatened to spill. I took some deep breath trying to control them.

My fingers clenched. "They found us within weeks."

"We were brought back. The boss ordered our execution."

My voice cracked. "The men raised their guns without hesitation."

"My parents didn't want me to die like that. So they told him about my ability."

Silence.

"He found me useful."

My chest tightened. "He ordered them to take me away."

I closed my eyes. "And then... he told them to shoot my parents."

I laughed bitterly. "I was dragged into a place I never wanted to be. I still remember every face. Every life I've taken."

"The people who worked with my parents didn't hesitate to betray them."

Everything felt heavy. "I hate it here," I whispered. "I wish I were normal."

Silas POV

Silas was silent, for the first time he understood her clearly, he always thought that she was similar to him. Numb. But he didn't expect all this. He didn't say anything else, he just quietly placed his hands on her shoulder. There was a silence between them. But it wasn't awkward. Eleanor sobbed letting all her pent up emotions go. After a long time she was able to get her emotions off her chest. Silas gave her the space she needed .
