The High Tower skyscraper stood tall against the evening sky, silhouetted in the twilight, the sky itself looking dull and heavy, as though it already sensed something enormous was about to happen that night.
Inside the building, many had already fled, since the Supreme Alpha had been killing people as casually as filing paperwork, all at Victoria's word, who seemed to be controlling him almost completely.
Nearly quarter the men guarding High Tower had already been killed, simply because Victoria complained they'd looked at her wrong, made her uncomfortable. Even the Elders hadn't been spared, one had been punched in the face because Victoria didn't like the tone he used with her.
That fear alone was enough to make most people fall in line, obeying every order given, especially those handed weapons and told to kill Viola on sight if she were ever spotted trying to get back in.
