Mina stood in front of a blue house, slightly larger than the rest, checking his status. He had kept his attribute points for emergencies, as zombies were easy to eliminate.
Knock, knock.
Mina knocked on the door and waited, but he heard no sound from inside. This was strange to him, as every house he had checked before contained zombies.
"Should I break the door?"
"No, it will make too much noise. Should I go check another house?"
"But this house is different from all the ones I've inspected before."
"Then I must look for a way—"
"BOOM!"
Something burst out of the blue house, colliding with Mina with such force that it sent him flying backward. Mina felt as if a truck had hit him; he felt some of his bones break or dislocate, and his internal organs felt crushed by the impact. He began to bleed from his mouth and lost his vision momentarily.
When Mina regained his sight, he saw a massive mouth filled with razor-sharp teeth lunging at his face. He quickly thrust the black staff in front of him. The jaws clamped down on the staff, and Mina began pushing with all his might to keep the creature from devouring him. However, the beast ripped the staff out of Mina's hands with its mouth and tossed it away.
The monster tried to devour Mina's head again. Mina grabbed the beast's jaws to prevent it from reaching him, but the monster was far stronger—Mina's resistance felt like an ant trying to push an elephant.
"Add 10 attribute points to Strength."
Mina succeeded in halting the beast, but he couldn't push it away; his strength had now become equal to the monster's.
"Add 5 attribute points to Strength."
Mina tucked his legs in and kicked the beast's stomach with full force, launching it backward. Mina stood up with difficulty, feeling sharp pain with every movement. He looked at the monster to see what he was dealing with; it resembled a wolf but was massive. If it stood on its hind legs, it would reach 2.25 meters in height, while Mina was only 1.7 meters tall.
"Grrrrrr!"
The beast rose from the ground, growling at Mina. Suddenly, it vanished and reappeared right in front of him, lashing out with its left claw. Mina tried to evade, but the beast was faster, slashing his left shoulder and sending him flying to the right.
Mina got up, coughing blood. He fixed his gaze on the beast. It vanished again, but this time, he was ready.
"Add 15 attribute points to Agility."
Mina stepped to the side just as the beast lunged past him. He quickly grabbed the beast's tail, lifted it, and slammed it into the ground with immense power.
Mina heard the sound of bones shattering. He immediately stood over the monster before it could recover and rained down punches on its head until it was crushed.

Ignoring the notifications, Mina began to run quickly. The fight had made a lot of noise, and it was only a matter of time before the zombies gathered. He returned the way he came, entered one of the houses he had previously cleared, locked the door, and barricaded it with furniture. He checked outside to ensure no zombies were following him. Seeing none, he finally exhaled.
Mina began to feel like he was going to lose consciousness due to blood loss and broken bones.
"Hold on... if I pass out now, I'll die. I have to do something... Status!"
