"SIX YEARS LATER"
Ling Rui was sitted in her garden watering and trimming her flowers she looked weak but her beauty was as radiant as ever. After watering the flowers she went inside the house, Mu Linfeng was sitted in the living room playing a game of chess.
"Rui are you done?" He asked softening the serious expression he had put on when playing the chess
"Yes" she replied slumping on the couch exhausted. Mu Linfeng helped her massage her shoulders, she sat down in a more relaxed position to enjoy the massage. Mu Linfeng brought out his handkerchief and wiped the sweat off her forehead
"Why are you all sweaty" he asked with a hint of indulgence in his tone. Ling Rui smiled gently when she saw his actions, the old couple had eyes for each other so they didn't notice the presence of their children
"Mom, Dad I think both of you need a room" Mu Xiao teases after clearing his throat, Ling felt shy when she saw her children but Mu Linfeng was thick skinned
"If you mind then go get your own house, this house belongs to my wife and daughter" he said snorting. Mu Ling watched them in amusement when his phone rang so he picked it up the call after the other line spoke his face immediately darkened
"I will be right there" Mu Ling said before hanging up
"What's the matter and why do you look tensed" Mu Feng asked curiously, Ling Rui took a look at Ling Rui before replying
"I just got a call that Mu Xiu got shot while going on a special mission" their faces became filled with fear and worry
"Mu Ling which hospital is your sister in?" She asked grabbing his hands anxiously with red eyes.
"At the military hospital, I will take you there" he suggested knowing that his mom is about to have a break down
"Go with your we will drive right behind you" Mu Linfeng said then they walked to their respective cars then they drove to the millitary hospital.
At the Millitary hospital somebody was already waiting outside for them "Madam My this way please" he said leading them to the hospital ward. When they got there Ling Rui opened the door to the ward without knocking, Mu Xiu who was about to eat and apple was surprised to see her mother standing in front of her
"Mom" she called to check if she was dreaming
"Xiu do you want to get me killed? No I won't allow you to keep this your job anymore" she said furiously
"Mom I've missed you so much, muah" Mu Xiu giggled kissing her mom's cheeks, Ling Rui anger dissipated a little bit.
"You're injured yet you still have the cheek to joke around" Ling Rui scolded
"Dad and my brothers are also here!" She exclaimed feeling more happy
"Mu Xiu how are you feeling, does it hurt?" Mu Linfeng asked gently
"No it doesn't since all of you are here" she replied sweetly
"This child you've become so cheeky" Ling Rui said sighing. "Mom come let me hold you I've missed you a lot" she said acting spoilt.
"Why are you acting like you haven't seen for ages, you haven't seen her for only one year" Mu Xiao said feeling sour , Ling Rui glared at her last son but Mu Xiu next words made her happy.
"It's been only one year for you but it feels like a thousand years to me, do you know how much I've missed Mom's cooking"
"Mu Xiu are you alright, is your arm in pain" Mu Ling asked worriedly
"Eldest brother you don't have to worry it will heal in no time" she said calmly not taking her injury seriously
"Second brother you haven't said a single word since you arrived" she said glancing at Mu Feng
"You still remember that you a second brother" he mumbled angrily but they all heard him, Mu Xiu couldn't help but smile her second brother is too handsome and cute.
