Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 - Tenrigan

"Now what?" Sora asked, taking a deep breath before transforming once more into Hikaru Otsutsuki.

He didn't want to get a bounty on his head just yet, so he was hiding his identity and pretending to be Hikaru Otsutsuki.

Sora had gone through multiple squads of sand ninja, all of which had some pretty lame techniques to display or just straight up attacked him out of nowhere.

His ancestor had told him that he would give Sora full control of his eyes and all of the information on them so long as Sora completed one task.

Sora's task was to kill many shinobi and pick up as much information and as many techniques as possible until his ancestor deemed it was time to move on.

And after Kai had shown him the transformation technique, his ancestor had told him to showcase what Shuen's feathers can do and to tell them he had more of them.

This would not only trigger the instinctive greedy nature of mankind, but it would also show their true faces.

And the moment Sora presented them with the power of the feathers, they immediately got aggressive, giving him a reason to attack and kill them.

However, his ancestor made sure that Sora would keep one of them alive to go and give the information of The Great Shuen Village and the feathers to his kazekage.

Sora had learned a lot about the outside world from the people he had come across.

The world was essentially run by ninja, there are five hidden ninja villages that rule the world. He discovered he was in the Land of Wind, a large desert that holds the village hidden in the sand, Sunagakure.

Each of the villages are led by their respective kage. Sunagakure's kage was known as the Kazekage. The Land of Fire holds the village hidden in the leaves and their kage was the Hokage.

The ninja have ranks, starting off as Genin who can take an exam to become a Chūnin and then a Jōnin. The Genins are placed in teams of three led by a Jōnin captain before they become Chūnin and can do solo missions.

At this point, Sora would pretty much class himself as a Jōnin because he had fought and killed four Jōnin, including Kai.

He also learned about different types of techniques.

There was Ninjutsu, Genjutsu and Taijutsu.

Genjutsu is basically what he and Yukio had been doing, it is used when someone controls their chakra flow through their target's brain and messes with their senses.

Taijutsu is just hand to hand combat.

Ninjutsu is everything in between, it is pretty much any technique that involves chakra. Like the teleportation technique that Takeo had taught him, it was known as the body flicker jutsu.

He also stole a few techniques from people, though they were pretty much all Earth style techniques because he seemed to pick up on those a little better.

This essentially meant that he had an affinity toward the Earth element, which was a little disappointing considering how awesome lightning and fire sounded.

Nonetheless, it was about damn time that his ancestor told him about his eyes.

"So… about the eyes, you promised to tell me everything about them?" Sora asked out loud.

"They are known as the Tenrigan or… The Eyes of Heavenly Order."

"Right…?" Sora said, now finally having a name for his eyes.

"The main ability is to be able to see the ambient chakra and natural energies in the air. The chakra appears as blue, and the natural energies appear as golden. Though there is more to it… you can also manipulate and condense the nature energy into constructs like bullets or walls, leech off of other people's chakra, summon constructs to fight, manipulate chakra in the form of jutsu to disrupt or use them yourself."

Sora's eyes widened as he tried to absorb all of the information.

"Your elemental affinity does change some abilities though. Your affinity to earth chakra makes your constructs much more durable and rigid, taking qualities from the earth and stones while someone with a fire affinity would be able to make their constructs explode, lightning would be quick and shocking, water would be fluid and adaptable, wind would be sharp and decisive."

"Are you serious? So I pretty much got the worst one." Sora said with a straight face.

"Not necessarily, no ordinary construct would be able to pierce through a shinobi's forehead guard and through their skull. Your bullets are far harder and stronger than someone with a fire affinity would be able to create."

"Right… but they could just straight up explode their bullet before it needed to go through them." Sora sighed as he ruffled his own hair. "And how the hell am I supposed to learn other techniques, like leeching off other people's chakra?" He asked incredulously.

There was no reply.

"Seriously? You're not gonna help me? But I did all that work! You're not even going to help me get stronger as you promised?" Sora immediately got mad.

Sora grit his teeth. "You bastard…" he spat, spitefully kicking the sand before setting off to go and find more people to train his techniques on, and hopefully steal more lovely ninjutsu.

"Still no sign of him?" Takeo Natsuki asked Yukio Sunohara, as the young boy entered the dojo with a sad expression.

"N-no…" he said, his face exceptionally pale and thin today.

After he had bested Sora in a duel and become the rightful heir to the Kagamihana sword style, he hadn't been eating as much and was in a state of constant guilt.

Ever since Sora had left the village and Fuko had left to go and search for him, Yukio had blamed himself for everything. He had gone too far in their fight, he had wounded Sora really badly and Yukio had started to suspect that Sora was out there - dead, due to the blood loss.

"Hey, don't beat yourself up over it. I'm sure he's fine out there, I'm certain that you two will meet again one day. Though, he's definitely getting stronger and fighting many people in the outside world…" Takeo sighed.

"Moreover, if he is getting stronger and stronger. Maybe he has some remaining animosity towards you, so you have to work hard in case he comes after you." He continued, a playful smile dancing on his face.

All of the remaining colour on Yukio's face vanished as he went fully white.

"I'm just pulling your leg, but we should focus on getting you stronger!" Takeo burst out laughing and patted Yukio's back.

The boy walked further into the dojo, now he had two bracelets on each hand and each ankle, doubling the weight from before.

"What are we doing today?" Yukio asked.

Takeo grinned. "Now that you have learned all of my chakra related techniques, you will now truly master the Kagamihana dance."

Yukio's eyes widened. "The dance?"

"Yes. You will be practicing performing all ten of the movements in order until you can perfectly execute them in a dance." The old man said.

Yukio's expression hardened. "Yes. Sensei."

The reaction of the village to Sora leaving the village was quite… interesting.

Sora's parents didn't seem to care all that much. They actually seemed relieved, only really caring about the fact that Fuko had left the village to go and search for him.

Most of the villagers either didn't care or were happy about the heretic leaving their village.

The Voice of The Lord has the opinion that this was a good thing, no one had ever left the village to explore the world before so maybe it was a good thing for the village.

Yukio's parents were quite shocked, Aki was more worried about Sora while Yuu was actually quite excited and even wanted to leave the village himself now.

Yukio himself was actually distraught, his one and only friend had run away from the village and it seemed as if it was his fault.

Fuko wasn't really surprised, but she was a little worried after hearing an explanation of what happened, worried that Sora would be reckless.

Takeo didn't mind, he was also quite excited to see what kind of person Sora would become if he ever saw the kid again.

Shuen didn't seem to care, but after he was informed… he had become more on edge, he had stopped lazing around and doing nothing. He now seemed to be planning something, something not even The Voice of The Lord could know about.

Moreover, Yukio's mental state was starting to become apparent to his parents and they were starting to get worried.

To the point that his father had come to Takeo's dojo to see if this had anything to do with it.

Stopping their training, Takeo walked to the front door of the dojo and opened it to Yuu, who was knocking on the door.

"Hm? Oh? Little Yuu you've gotten so big!" Takeo suddenly said, his eyes lighting up.

"Old man?" Yuu's eyes also opened wide. He had figured this place looked familiar but he didn't see this coming!

Yukio walked over, confused as to why his father was here and even more confused as to why they seemed to know each other.

Takeo noticed his expression and explained. "It seems you and I are distant relatives! Though, very distant… we share a common ancestor." He said with a smile.

Yuu made himself at home as he walked in and leaned on the wall, looking around at the place he had visited a lot growing up.

"I thought that you were the only one of your family left?" Yukio asked, trying his best not to sound disrespectful.

Takeo chuckled. "Yes, I am the last person who has the Natsuki name and the last user of the Kagamihana technique. Somewhere down the line one of our great ancestors decided to take his wife's last name, Sunohara, and pursued romance instead of the sword." He said, now feeling even closer to Yukio and finally understanding why the kid was so good with the sword.

Yuu chimed in. "Such a shame he did that, I would've loved to be a swordsman. But honestly I understand him! As much as I'd love to be a swordsman I'd far prefer spending my life with my wife instead." He said with a loud hearty laugh.

Takeo sighed. "And I'm sure you would've been an incredible swordsman."

Yukio's mood seemed to brighten a little at the idea that he was a descendant of a great swordsman. "Sensei, why didn't you say so sooner? I had told you my name was Yukio Sunohara beforehand!" He asked a reasonable question.

Takeo rubbed the back of his head awkwardly. "It seems I had forgotten… I was more focused on your capabilities than your name."

"Right…" Yukio said, a little bit irritated.
