"Hello, my name is Parker Rob—"
Whoosh!
Before he could finish speaking, Pietro—who had been watching them carefully—suddenly scooped Carrie up and activated his speed.
Having grown up in Sokovia, he was far from naïve. The moment he saw the two men, he sensed overwhelming danger.
The instant they tried to approach, Pietro moved.
He wrapped an arm around Carrie's waist and sprinted toward the supermarket exit at full speed.
But at that exact moment, the man in the red hood raised his hand toward the doorway.
Two red electrical beams shot out in rapid succession.
One struck directly toward the entrance.
The other hit the wall above the glass doors.
With a thunderous crack, the reinforced wall shattered. Debris collapsed downward, blocking the supermarket exit completely.
At the same time, the massive man—Cain Marko—stomped violently onto the floor.
The impact sent shockwaves through the ground. Cracks spread outward in jagged lines, chunks of tile and concrete exploding upward and racing toward the entrance.
Pietro narrowly avoided the first energy beam—but when he tried to dash through the doorway, rubble slowed him down.
As he attempted to leap over the debris, a powerful tremor surged up through the floor.
He lost his balance.
He fell.
He was still only a teenager. His super-speed abilities were far from fully developed.
By the time Pietro scrambled to his feet, the entrance was completely sealed—and the two men were already walking toward him.
"Didn't expect you to have that kind of ability," Parker Robbins said with a clicking sound of approval beneath his red hood. "If we hadn't prepared in advance, you might have actually escaped."
"What do you want?" Pietro demanded, glancing around for any possible escape route.
"If you value your life, you'd better cooperate," Robbins replied casually. "I might hold back."
He gestured toward the towering brute beside him.
"But my friend here? He's not known for restraint."
Pietro clenched his jaw.
The alternate exits were too far. If he made a run for them, they would strike before he could reach safety.
There were only two choices.
Surrender.
Or gamble everything.
"That look in your eyes is dangerous," Robbins warned. "Don't cause trouble for yourself."
But in the next instant—
Pietro vanished.
Simultaneously, Robbins flicked his crimson cloak and disappeared as well.
Beside them, Cain Marko suddenly slammed both fists into the ground.
The entire supermarket shook violently.
People screamed and collapsed to the floor as shelves toppled in every direction.
Amid the chaos, Pietro's figure reappeared.
"Got you, kid!" Marko grinned savagely.
His massive fist roared through the air toward Pietro.
Just as Pietro prepared to dodge, his body suddenly stiffened.
He couldn't move.
Robbins' face appeared behind him.
"I told you not to make things difficult."
Pietro struggled—but his muscles were locked.
"Run, Carrie!"
With everything he had left, he screamed toward her.
Boom!
Marko's enormous fist smashed into Pietro's face.
His features distorted under the impact.
His body shot backward like a cannonball, crashing through over a dozen shelves before falling still.
"You really can't control your strength?" Robbins said sharply, glaring at Marko.
"Sorry," Marko shrugged. "Been a while since I threw a punch."
"You idiot…" Robbins muttered.
Then he turned toward Carrie.
"You saw what happened. Come quietly. Resistance is pointless."
Carrie didn't respond.
She turned slowly toward where Pietro lay.
"Good," Robbins said, mistaking her silence for fear.
Then—
"You… dared…"
Carrie's voice trembled.
"What?" Robbins frowned.
"You dared… to hurt my family."
She lifted her head.
Her eyes glowed violet.
The next second, a surge of intense purple energy erupted around her body.
"What the—?" Robbins stepped back instinctively.
Marko, however, charged forward without hesitation.
He swung another crushing punch toward her.
"You… all… deserve to die!"
Carrie raised her hand.
Marko froze mid-charge.
Suspended in midair.
He struggled—but his entire body was bound tightly by violet force.
"RAAAARGH!"
Marko roared.
The blessing of the Crimson Lord Cyttorak flared within him. A faint red glow burst from his body as his strength surged explosively.
The purple restraints began to crack under the strain.
The two energies collided violently.
With a violent surge, Marko tore partially free.
Seizing the opportunity, he lowered his shoulder and launched himself forward—his unstoppable charge aimed straight at Carrie.
But when he reached within half a meter of her—
A stronger wave of violet energy erupted.
He slammed into an invisible wall.
At that same instant, two blazing red electrical beams struck the purple barrier, sending ripples of energy across its surface.
But the wall held.
It neither shattered nor yielded.
Marko was thrown back several steps by the rebound.
Pain fueled his rage.
The red glow around him intensified. His power continued rising.
"Die!!!"
Each step he took cracked the floor beneath him.
With a thunderous roar, he charged again and smashed into the barrier.
This time, the violet wall warped visibly.
Fractures appeared.
Marko laughed wildly.
He retreated several steps—
Then unleashed even greater power and charged once more.
"Cain, don't!!!"
Robbins' alarmed shout echoed behind him.
But it was too late.
