Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 Dawn of the Gods

Chapter 22 Dawn of the Gods

The sun's rays completely disappeared, leaving only a dim sphere hanging in the dark sky.

The continent of Faerûn was plunged into unprecedented darkness and cold, temperatures plummeted, and ice and snow began to cover the land.

Amannata's divine power rapidly declined, and the sun god fell into a state of near death.

Despite being injured, Suren immediately joined forces with Misriel to create a massive artificial light source that hung in the astral plane, barely providing light and heat.

"This can only sustain basic survival," Misriel warned, "it cannot replace the real sun."

At this critical moment, two ancient and powerful forces rushed in from the depths of the universe.

As the primordial Titans traversed the astral plane, their colossal forms caused frozen rivers to flow anew and snow-covered mountains to come back to life wherever they went.

The Nine-Faced Dragon God soared through the dark sky, its wings flapping to bring warm air currents, and its breath melting ice and snow.

The two oldest races of gods finally arrived at the battlefield.

"We are late," the voice of the primordial Titans boomed like a landslide, "but it's not too late."

The Nine-Faced Dragon God roared, "Darkness must be dispelled!"

Two ancient gods immediately joined the battle. The primordial Titans used the power of the earth to create a vast underground refuge, sheltering countless mortals.

The Nine-Headed Dragon God then summoned the first Titans and dragons—ancient creations with near-divine power—to begin organizing a counterattack.

The Titans were enormous, with skin like rock and eyes that shimmered with starlight.

They could alter the terrain and construct massive fortifications with a wave of their arms.

The dragons spread their wings and soared, spewing dragon breath of various elements, and engaged in direct combat with the army of the Wild Gods.

With the addition of Titans and dragons, morale improved significantly.

At the same time, the army of the Wild Gods began a full-scale invasion of the multiverse through the nodes of the Shadow Dimension.

The Lord of Terror has orchestrated a multi-pronged offensive. While the main force continues its attack on the Prime Material Plane, it is simultaneously sending troops to invade Heaven Mountain, Hell, and even the Abyss.

The forces of the Wild Gods attacking Heaven Mountain encountered fierce resistance from the Angel Legion. Michael led the angel warriors in a desperate defense of the Rainbow Gate, and the battle was exceptionally brutal.

"For the light!" Michael shouted, his flaming sword slaying several low-level Desolate Gods who did not yet possess Chaos Weapons.

However, the number of Aragami was too great, and the angelic legion suffered repeated defeats. The progenitors personally joined the battle, unfurling their twelve wings, and the Light of Order temporarily halted the Aragami's attack.

The Aragami forces attacking Hell encountered unexpected resistance. Lucifer greeted the invaders with a cold smile.

"How dare you invade my domain!" The Lord of Hell wielded his dark sword to fight the intruder.

The demon army, led by its demon lord, displayed divine power comparable to that of a mighty god. The forces of the Aragami, who had invaded Hell, were instead surrounded by the demons.

The most surprising thing was the Abyss's reaction. When the Aragami forces invaded the Bottomless Abyss, the Abyss's will went berserk.

"Dare to invade my territory?" The will of the abyss roared, mobilizing all its demons. "Let these outsiders witness true chaos!"

The demon army surged towards the Aragami like a tidal wave. The two chaotic creatures engaged in a frenzied battle, more bloody and chaotic than anywhere else.

The Lord of Terror hadn't expected such fierce, all-encompassing resistance. But He wasn't flustered; instead, He became even more excited.

"Very well," the Lord of Terror said to Dandel and Utau, "let them all get involved in this war."

The Lord of Terror personally led his elite forces, charging straight at the Primal Titans and the Nine-Headed Dragon God. This was the ultimate showdown between ancient and new forces.

The primordial Titan swung his mountain-like fist and shattered a wild god with a single blow.

The Nine-Faced Dragon God unleashed its powerful breath, sending various elemental energies sweeping across the battlefield.

The Lord of Terror raised the Axe of Chaos to meet the two ancient gods.

The Chaos Axe collided with the Titan's fist and clashed with the Dragon God's breath, creating shockwaves that shattered the surrounding space.

"Ancient rulers," the Lord of Terror's voice provocatively said, "times have changed."

The primordial Titan roared, "Arrogant fool!" The power of the earth coalesced into a massive stone fist and slammed down.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, the Nine-Faced Dragon God unleashed his earth-shattering divine power.

The Lord of Terror neither dodged nor evaded; the Chaos Axe absorbed and reflected a portion of the attack. The battle intensified, with the three supreme beings locked in a fierce and evenly matched struggle.

Meanwhile, the conflict between Suren and Shar erupted again.

Shar observed the battle from the Shadow Plane and saw that the Lord of Terror was temporarily blocked by the Primal Titan and the Nine-Headed Dragon God, so she decided to take action again.

The Goddess of Darkness stealthily approaches the artificial light source created by Suren, preparing to destroy it.

But Suren was prepared. The moment Shar made her move, Suren suddenly appeared to block her.

"Sister, stop." Suren's voice was filled with exhaustion and sadness.

Shar sneered, "How many more times can you stop me, sister?"

The two goddesses clashed once more. Light and darkness clashed fiercely in the starry sky, becoming the focus of the entire battlefield.

The other gods also found their own adversaries. Corellon faced a Wild God Lord wielding a Chaos Spear, and the Elven Divine Bow clashed fiercely with the Chaos weapon.

Moradin engaged in close combat with a rock-shaped abomination, their divine hammer clashing with the Chaos Axe, creating dazzling sparks.

Gruush, on the contrary, enjoyed the war the most. The orc god fought against three wild gods at the same time, his battle axe swinging with wild joy.

"Now this is what you call a fight!" Gewush laughed. "Come on, the more the better!"

Instead of directly engaging in the war, Shantia devoted herself to preserving the earth's life force. She channeled geothermal energy to warm the frozen soil, fostering the growth of cold-resistant crops and minimizing casualties among mortals.

Misriel, meanwhile, was busy repairing the magic network. The invasion of the Aragami had severely disrupted the network's operation, and many mages found their magic unstable and even dangerous.

Most surprisingly, the three mortal enemies—Paradise Mountain, Hell, and the Abyss—temporarily cooperated when faced with the invasion of the Aragami.

Michael was surprised to find a group of demons assisting the angels in resisting the invasion of Paradise Mountain by the Abomination.

"Don't get me wrong, angel," a demon from the deep chakra sneered, "we just don't want these chaotic creatures to dirty our battlefield."

Lucifer even had a brief exchange with the Ancestral Angels through special channels.

"A temporary ceasefire," Lucifer suggested, "Let's deal with these outsiders first."

After hesitating, the ancestral angel agreed: "Order must take precedence, even your order."

The will of the abyss tacitly approved this temporary truce. The demons primarily fought against the invading Abyss gods, but occasionally assisted on other battlefields.

This bizarre collaboration surprised the Lord of Terror, but it did not disrupt His plans.

"A united front is fine," the Lord of Terror said to Utau, "it's a good opportunity to wipe them all out at once."

Utau suggested changing the strategy: "We should focus our attacks on the weakest points."

After calculations, Utau determined that the human kingdom was the best target. The human pantheon was relatively weak, and humans themselves were more vulnerable in the darkness.

The Lord of Terror approved the plan. Large numbers of Aragami forces suddenly appeared in the capitals of the major human kingdoms via the Shadow Nodes.

Human armies fought desperately, but were overwhelmed by the army of the Aragami. Many cities fell in a short time, and large numbers of humans were slaughtered or captured.

The gods and humans did their utmost to rescue them, but they themselves were also besieged by the Lord of the Wild Gods.

Just at this critical moment, reinforcements unexpectedly appeared.

Rose led the gods of the elven pantheon in a joint spell, summoning a massive magical barrier that temporarily halted the Aragami's attack. This effectively contained the Aragami's lightning assault.
