Chapter 20 - The Water of Life

The black helicopter, emblazoned with the "Dragon Capital" logo, descended onto the pristine white beach of Phoenix Island.

Alex stepped out, the tropical wind messing up his hair. Luna followed, scanning the jungle perimeter with her hand on her weapon.

"It's just trees and sand," Alex muttered. "Did I really spend $7 Billion on a vacation spot?"

"The air quality here is 300% purer than the city," Luna noted, checking her tactical watch. "And there is... a strange energy signature coming from the center of the island."

"Let's go take a look," Alex said.

They hiked through the jungle path. The deeper they went, the more vibrant the plants became. The flowers were glowing slightly in the shade.

Finally, they reached a cave hidden behind a waterfall. Inside, a small pool of crystal-clear water glowed with a faint blue light.

"This must be it," Alex whispered. "The Healing Spring."

"System," Alex commanded. "God's Eye: Analyze."

His vision shifted. A blue window appeared over the water.

[Item: Phoenix Spirit Water (Diluted)] [Grade: B-Rank Natural Treasure] [Effect: Drinking 100ml heals all minor injuries, cures chronic diseases (including cancer if consumed daily for a month), and rejuvenates the skin by 5 years.] [Value: Priceless.]

Alex's jaw dropped.

"It cures cancer?" Alex whispered. "No wonder that old Duke was willing to bankrupt his family for this."

$7 Billion? This water was worth $700 Billion. If he bottled this and sold it, he would rule the pharmaceutical industry.

"Master," Luna interrupted. "I detect movement. Multiple heat signatures. Three kilometers north."

Alex's expression darkened. He looked at the precious water, then at Luna.

"Guests?" Alex asked.

"Hostile," Luna replied, her eyes narrowing. "They are moving in a tactical formation. Heavily armed. They are not tourists."

Alex smirked. He dipped his hand into the water and took a sip. He felt a rush of energy. His fatigue vanished instantly.

"The Duke," Alex said. "He couldn't buy it, so now he wants to steal it."

Alex cracked his knuckles.

"Luna," Alex said calmly. "Do you remember the 'No Trespassing' rule?"

"Yes, Master."

"Enforce it."
