[Dragon Bay Villa - Safe Room]
Pain.
It felt like someone was pouring molten lava into Alex's veins.
"ARGH!" Alex screamed, falling to the floor. His bones cracked and reformed. His muscles tore apart and knitted back together instantly, thicker and denser than before.
The Titan Body Serum was rewriting his DNA. The Hyper-Regeneration was healing the damage as fast as it happened.
It lasted for one hour of pure torture.
Then, silence.
Alex opened his eyes. He was lying in a pool of black sweat—the impurities expelled from his body.
He stood up. He felt... heavy. But also light.
He walked to the mirror. His suit was shredded. Underneath, his body looked like it was carved from marble. Every muscle was defined, but not bulky. His skin had a faint metallic sheen under the light.
"System," Alex whispered. "Status."
[Host: Alex] [Class: Human (Evolved)] [Strength: 20 -> 250 (Superhuman)] [Speed: 30 -> 200 (Supersonic Reaction)] [Defense: Titan Body (Immune to small arms fire)] [Mental: Fortress Active (Immune to Plunder System Probes)]
Alex looked at the solid steel table in the center of the room. It weighed 500 pounds.
He reached out and grabbed the edge. With a casual flick of his wrist, he flipped the table over. It crashed into the wall, denting the reinforced concrete.
"Incredible," Alex clenched his fist. The air popped from the pressure.
The door opened. Luna limped in, bandaged from her fight with Vincent.
She froze. She looked at Alex with wide eyes. As an S-Class Assassin, her instincts were screaming. The man standing in front of her wasn't a civilian anymore. He was a predator.
"Master?" Luna whispered. "Your energy signature... it has changed. You feel dangerous."
Alex walked over to her. He moved so fast that he was a blur. One second he was by the table, the next he was right in front of her.
"I had to upgrade," Alex said, his voice deeper. "Vincent has a shield. So I decided to become a hammer."
He touched the bandages on her shoulder.
"Does it hurt?" Alex asked.
"It is manageable, Master."
"Good. Rest up," Alex walked to the weapon rack on the wall. He picked up a heavy combat knife.
He stabbed it into his own palm.
CLINK.
The knife tip snapped. His skin didn't even have a scratch.
Alex smiled. It was a terrifying smile.
"Titan Body," Alex muttered. "Vincent won't be able to scratch me."
"Luna," Alex turned around. "Prepare the car. And call the airport police chief."
"Where are we going, Master?"
"We're going hunting," Alex said. "I have 30 days to kill a System User. I don't plan on waiting until the deadline."
