Derrick left Japan without ceremony.
He did not flee. He outgrew it.
The world's quirk ecology had begun to plateau, too many abilities optimized for heroics, spectacle, limitation.
Derrick required synergy, not symbolism.
So he crossed borders as mist, shadow, consuming selectively across continents where regulation was weaker and experimentation uglier.
Speed came first.
He hunted courier villains in Eastern Europe, street-level speedsters in South America, black-ops messengers engineered by private militaries. Each speed quirk was insufficient alone, reaction lagging , metabolic strain, friction loss but Blacklight fused them into a single expression: Hyper-Temporal Locomotion.
Derrick no longer moved through space. Space yielded to him he was on the same speed as movie quick silver (avengers) .
He outran perception, prediction, even causality's early warning.
Next came the elements.
Fire wielders from cartel-backed labs.
Atmospheric manipulators hidden in island nations.
Cryokinetics bred for polar warfare.
Blacklight stripped inefficiency and fused them into Elemental Manipulation not control, but authority over the elements.
Derrick could transmute, compress, layer elements into phenomena the quirk system had never intended.
Finally, space.
Teleporters, warpers, phasers both from heroes and villains alike, taken quietly.
Their abilities merged into something deeper when fused with Derrick's gravity mastery and spatial slip.
The result was Dimensional Dominion, a personal extradimensional continuum he could enter, exit, or drag others through at will.
Distance became a suggestion. Universes, doors.
By the time he returned to Japan, Derrick's internal mass had surpassed thirty thousand tons, folded into a silhouette that still passed for human until it didn't.
He felt it before he saw it.
The sample.
In the underground lab, Derrick's stolen biomass had awakened. Without a central intelligence to bind it, Blacklight defaulted to instinct.
The fragment grew teeth, then hunger. It breached containment, infecting personnel, birthing a plague of red-black corpses that were fast, adaptive, screaming.
It was pure chaos, the heroes never trained for this in their happy clappy world.
An infection zone bloomed across Japan like a wound.
Heroes fell. Cities locked down. By the time Derrick emerged floating using his gravity manipulation above Tokyo, thirty percent of the country was lost.
Missiles armed.
Nukes authorized.
Derrick descended fast as lightning whilst building up his momentum and bio absorption tendril bomb.
He did not fight the infected.
He reclaimed them.
Then he hit the center of the city and released all his biomass tendrils as an omni-directional attack.
Entire zones collapsed inward as Derrick absorbed millions of tons of biomass in minutes, his gravity folding cities into him like paper offerings as the blacklight forcefully converting non biological matter into blacklight biomass .
The plague ended not with victory but with absorption
He stood amid silence as countdowns aborted.
Then he hunted the final variables.
Izuku Midoriya died understanding too late what he faced.
One For All was too weak to resist and unraveled and reforged inside Derrick as Singularity Inheritance,
power without lineage or limit.
All For One followed. His stolen hoard dissolved into Derrick's system, quirks cataloged, refined, fused , purged of ego.
There was nothing left worth staying for
Anymore, not caring about this world....
Derrick tore reality open and stepped through.
He emerged in a hidden government facility by mistake and was greeted by steel, glass and panic from the government operators.
This world was loud. Strong. Hostile.
Alarms blared as advanced restraint fields slammed into place, molecular stasis nets, weapons designed to subdue gods. Derrick almost failed to escape . Almost.
He adapted.
Walls became biomass. Technology bent. Derrick escaped into the sky, after grabbing wounded agent and escapes.
Below him, the Invincible universe mobilized., he knew where he was after consuming the agent and gaining knowledge of the heroes thus allowing him to figure it out.
.....
Elsewhere
Satellites tracked the anomaly. Governments whispered. Kill orders drafted.
Derrick smiled as he vanished fast into the suburbs near the base .
A new world.
Stronger prey.
And this time stupid no mistakes.
End of the chapter.
