Chapter 39 - Chapter 39 The Gift of Love

Gently pushing the small swing in front of him, Lucas's attention was drawn by the text that popped up again.

"Our Home: Pokémon will always repay the love their Trainers give them. Receive gifts from all the Pokémon in the Breeding House."

"Gift One: Breeding House Family Bucket (Toxic Orb, Soothe Bell, Black Belt, Black Glasses, Expert Belt)."

"Gift Two: The Pokémon of the Breeding House will help you share the work of the Breeding House, care for the Pokémon boarded here, keeping them in a pleasant mood; they will also care for the plants you grow, making them grow, develop, and mature at a faster rate."

"Gift Three: Learning is Endless. The Pokémon of the Breeding House have learned to teach other Pokémon the moves they excel at, broadening the services of the Breeding House."

"Currently teachable moves: Gengar (Shadow Ball); Machamp (Protect, Endure, Bulk Up); Petilil (Stun Spore)."

"Toxic Orb: A mysterious orb that releases poison upon touch. Carrying it will cause the holder to fall into a Toxic state."

"Soothe Bell: A beautiful sounding bell. Pokémon carrying it are more likely to become intimate with their Trainer."

"Black Belt: A belt that can invigorate the spirit. When carried, the power of Fighting-type moves will increase."

"Black Glasses: Strange-looking glasses. When carried, the power of Dark-type moves will increase."

"Expert Belt: A well-worn Black Belt. When carried, the power of moves that are super effective will slightly increase."

"...Wow."

Lucas looked at the lines of text, completely stunned.

This wave was a massive giveaway!

Was it New Year's? Or was the Cheat about to kick the bucket?

"..."

"Gift Four:" (Garbled, crossed out.)

"...So petty, can't even say a few words about you."

Lucas silently grumbled a couple of times in his heart, but he was already very satisfied with the first three; each one was very precious.

This way, his Breeding House could sell items, the Growth cycle of herbs would accelerate, the herbal tea business would see a great improvement, and with move instruction, his Breeding House could also start taking on move teaching services.

According to the Cheat, this instruction was just like a TM, a 100% success rate, only the time varied.

Of course, there was also a prerequisite: the Pokémon must be able to learn that move.

Seeing this, Lucas sighed; 'Won't Fly' had completely lost its way to fly.

Lucas thought while pushing the swing in his hand, until the phone rang.

Lucas answered the phone; it was for the herbal tea ordered for today.

After telling Cynthia and the others, he turned and walked towards the kitchen.

After packing the herbal tea, he returned to the counter, where Shauna was already waiting, fully equipped.

Lucas nodded, went back to his room to get a custom-made Petilil water bottle, filled it with water for Shauna, then hung the backpack containing the herbal tea and the small bag with the water bottle around Machamp's neck.

Along with the items from the family bucket he had just received.

He then tied the Black Belt around Machamp and nodded.

Machamp looked at the Black Belt on its arm; a powerful force flowed through its body, then it looked at Lucas, who gave it a thumbs-up and a wide grin.

Lucas patted its arm, then picked up Shauna and seated her on its neck.

"Have a safe trip, go and come back soon."

"Bye-bye, Uncle, bye-bye, Sister Cynthia."

"Chingling!"

Lucas looked down at the remaining items and then asked Gengar if it needed anything.

Gengar floated over, picked out the Black Glasses, put them on its eyes, and then made a 'V' sign.

"What about this? Don't you need it?"

Lucas pointed at the Toxic Orb in the box and asked.

"Gengar?"

Gengar looked at the Toxic Orb in the box, licked it, not knowing what it could do with it.

Seeing this, Lucas could only give up, preparing to list it for sale.

Just then, Cynthia's voice rang out beside him: "You can give it to Gengar and let Gengar thoroughly feel the energy inside until it masters it. Then, taking it out for sale would be better."

"After all, Gengar is also a Poison-type Pokémon. As long as it doesn't absorb the energy inside, and only uses it to practice mastering Poison-type energy, its value won't change; it can still be sold."

Cynthia extended her finger and continued, "This also greatly helps Gengar learn new moves."

Lucas suddenly understood; he hadn't known that a Toxic Orb could be used in such a way.

Seeing Lucas's expression, Cynthia was a bit puzzled, "The energy contained in these orbs will spontaneously emit energy upon touch. Pokémon of the same type can absorb it to enhance the power of their own type's moves, while other types will be afflicted with specific effects. However, Pokémon can also try to absorb the energy it emits and then feed it back, thereby improving their control over the power within their bodies."

"You didn't know?"

"I'm not a Trainer, isn't it normal that I wouldn't know?"

Lucas blinked and said.

"..."

"But..."

Cynthia grew even more puzzled. He had managed to raise Gengar and the others so well, and their control over their own energy was excellent. Moreover, when she guided them in the morning, they understood everything instantly, which suggested that Lucas should also be an excellent Trainer.

She couldn't figure it out.

Unaware of Cynthia's thoughts, Lucas gave the Toxic Orb to Gengar, then picked up the Soothe Bell and Expert Belt, placing them in the item display on the wall.

Games and reality still had significant differences; there were too many things that could be flexibly adapted in reality.

He patted Gengar's butt, and Gengar nodded, its tongue rolling up the Toxic Orb, which it swallowed in one gulp, then floated towards the door.

"Just watch from a distance."

"Gengar!"

I'm more familiar with this than you.

After some contemplation, Cynthia decided to give up thinking. She came back to her senses and saw Gengar following behind Shauna, sneaking out stealthily.

"Gengar is...?"

"Oh, we're all worried about Shauna, so we let Gengar secretly follow behind, just in case."

Cynthia nodded, "Should I go along and watch too?"

"If you're not afraid of traffic jams, I have no objection."

Upon hearing this, Cynthia sighed regretfully. It was true; as soon as she appeared, a crowd of people would surely gather around her.

Lucas finished polishing the wooden sign in his hand, then let out a breath, looking up to see her regretful expression, and smiled.

"Want to prepare some afternoon tea?"

"Hmm..."

"How about ice cream for afternoon tea dessert?"

"Okay."

Cynthia's eyes lit up, and she nodded in agreement without hesitation.

Lucas handed her the wooden sign, asking her to personally give it to Garchomp and the others to wear, then took out Grandma's recipe book.

"What do you want for dinner? You can order from the menu."

He handed the recipe book to Cynthia, then returned to the kitchen to start making ice cream.

It wasn't until Lucas came out of the kitchen that he found her and Gengar, who had returned at some point, flipping through the recipe book, seemingly discussing something.

"How is it? Have you decided what to eat?"

Lucas placed a spoon on the ice cream and handed it to Cynthia.

Behind him, Mime Jr. held a small tray in each tiny hand, on which several servings of ice cream were arranged. It distributed them to Gengar and Garchomp, then ran back to the kitchen.

Cynthia scooped a spoonful of ice cream into her mouth, and the cool sensation burst forth, making her eyes narrow. Then, she pointed at the recipe book and spoke to Gengar.

"This."

"Gengar!"

"Knife-cut noodles? Received, bosses!"

Lucas nodded, then picked Shauna, who had just returned to the Breeding House, from Machamp's neck, wiped her sweat, and asked Gengar to watch the counter in case guests arrived, while he returned to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

Shauna, with Chingling, returned to the backyard to help Mime Jr. distribute ice cream.

Cynthia returned to the backyard, secretly had Mime Jr. serve her a second helping of ice cream, and lay back in a lounge chair, slowly enjoying it.

Before long, she saw Gengar, Garchomp, and Lucario run out of the kitchen in a panic, as if they had done something bad.

Because the kitchen window hadn't been repaired yet, Cynthia could clearly hear Lucas yelling.

"Gengar, where's that big pot of braised pork filling I cooked?! Tell me honestly!"

"Gengar!"

I don't know, I didn't steal any, don't ask me.

"Garchomp!"

I didn't eat it either, Lucario ate it all.

"Awoo?"

Me?!

Watching Lucas stand at the doorway with his hands on his hips, looking helpless, Cynthia savored the sweetness of the ice cream in her hand and then chuckled softly.

Next time, she could bring Diantha and the others over to relax.

Cynthia nodded, thinking.
