Chapter 199 - Chapter 199: Hot Springs

Feeling a chill, Lucas tucked his neck in and called out to Vulpix. Once Vulpix hopped into his arms, he glanced at Shauna, who was sitting in a hammock under a tree by the door.

"Aren't you cold?"

Shauna, holding Snorunt in her arms, looked up at Lucas and shook her head.

"Not at all."

Since it was the weekend, Shauna didn't have classes.

Seeing the quiet Snorunt in her arms, Lucas felt cold just looking at it.

This kid is really something.

Feeling the warmth in his arms, Lucas suddenly really wanted to soak in a hot spring.

In his past life, soaking in a hot spring in this kind of weather was the most comfortable thing.

"Gengar, don't you think it would be so comfortable to go soak in a hot spring in this weather if we had the chance?"

Lucas rocked his armchair and looked at the ceiling as he spoke.

Gengar's eyes rolled as if he were thinking about something, then he put down the remote and floated toward the backyard.

However, Lucas didn't notice. At that moment, he answered a call from Jenny.

"Lucas, are you free? Come to the harbor. I need your help with something."

Jenny's tone was a bit urgent. Lucas quickly stood up and looked around but didn't see Gengar.

"Gengar!"

Lucas called for Gengar as he walked toward the backyard.

Gengar, who was talking to Luxray and the others, heard Lucas's voice. After giving them a few instructions, he immediately floated over to Lucas.

Lucas took him to the Lake area, explaining the situation as they walked. Upon arriving at the Lake, he also explained the situation to the Lapras Siblings.

With their nod of agreement, he returned them to their Poké Balls.

At the harbor, Lapras would be a big help.

Then, taking Gengar, Lilligant, Vulpix, Roserade, Staraptor, and Azumarill, they rode Gogoat. He asked Mr. and Mrs. Fujino and Dash to watch over the Breeding House, then headed toward Twinleaf Town.

Arriving at the harbor, Lucas found the sea surface filled with Tentacool and Tentacruel. Jenny and the others were directing the work of driving them away.

Seeing Lucas arrive, Jenny came to his side.

"You came at the right time. Help me think of a way to better drive away these Tentacool and Tentacruel."

Jenny wiped the sweat from her forehead and took the water handed to her by Gothitelle, drinking it down in one gulp.

Gothitelle had heard that Lucas was coming to the harbor, so she temporarily closed the dessert shop and came along with him.

Looking at the dense swarm of jellyfish on the water, Lucas also had a bit of a headache.

"Every year in late autumn, these jellyfish migrate from the Hoenn region. They stop here in Twinleaf Town, causing us great trouble and loss every year."

Jenny said with a headache, gesturing for Lucas to look to the side.

Joy and Blissey were treating people who had been attacked by Tentacool and Tentacruel and were poisoned.

Lucas also saw an old acquaintance.

Rhys was lying on the ground with his Floatzel.

Many people from Twinleaf Town, like Rhys, enjoyed fishing or riding their Pokémon to Surf on the water.

Conflicts with these jellyfish were inevitable.

The jellyfish, with their numerical advantage, were extremely domineering, forbidding any person or Pokémon from passing through their territory. Even the Gastrodon that usually lived on the beach had come into conflict with them.

Looking at the dense swarm of Tentacool and Tentacruel, Lucas couldn't think of a solution for a moment.

"Should I ask Cynthia? See if she has time to come and handle this?"

Lucas thought for a while and asked tentatively.

Jenny gave him a side-eye.

"Do you think the Champion is really that free? She doesn't need to come for such a small matter."

Lucas nodded in agreement; that was true.

"How about asking Lucian? As an Elite Four of the Sinnoh region, he must be very familiar with this kind of thing."

Lucas remembered Lucian and continued, "Besides, he's quite used to working overtime."

Jenny thought for a while and nodded slightly.

"That should... be okay?"

Far away, Lucian was processing work when he suddenly sneezed.

He startled Cynthia and Aaron, who were lying nearby playing on their phones.

"Lucian, what's wrong? You didn't catch a cold, did you?"

Aaron looked at Lucian and asked.

Lucian shook his head, saying he was fine, then looked at the two who were playing on their phones.

"I'm saying, if you two have so much time, come and help me with some work."

Hearing Lucian's words, Cynthia shrugged.

"I want to help you, but I don't know how."

Aaron nodded in agreement from the side.

Seeing this, Lucian felt like he had lost even more hair.

He shook his head and lowered it to continue processing the work.

"Strange, why do I feel like someone is always cursing me to work overtime?"

Lucas shook his head. Forget it, better not make Lucian keep working overtime.

Maybe he's getting off work right now?

Thinking of this, Lucas shook his head. Poor Lucian.

Lucian, buried in work, sneezed again.

"Am I really catching a cold?"

Lucian decided to make some medicine for himself later. If that didn't work, he'd go to Lucas's shop for some herbal medicine.

Lucas released the Lapras Siblings and hopped onto the brother's back.

Jenny followed, hopping onto the sister's back.

Gothitelle, Gengar, and Lilligant stayed by Lucas's side, while Roserade and the others stayed on the shore to help Joy and the rest.

Azumarill jumped directly into the water.

At the same time, he made a phone call back, asking Shauna to have all the Azumarill and Golduck families from the Lake area come over.

Then Lucas glanced at the wooden plaque on his chest. He had originally intended to call Lugia over, but then he seemed to think of something and started calling for others through the wooden plaque.

Exclusive to the Breeding House, Pokémon that have established a connection with the Breeding House receive a small wooden plaque from Lucas, allowing them to feel if he needs help.

Simply put, it's a specialized tool for calling for backup.

"Brother, can you freeze the sea area around them?"

Lucas called the Lapras Siblings "Brother" and "Sister" respectively.

Lapras nodded, then began to gather energy in his mouth. An Ice Beam poured out, and the water surface close to the shore was completely frozen.

The Sister and Azumarill were also helping.

Some Tentacool didn't have time to dodge and were all frozen.

The remaining Tentacool, under the command of the Tentacruel, rushed toward Lucas and the others.

Lucas had Lapras climb onto the ice, then had Luxray use Thunder.

Boom!

A large number of jellyfish lost consciousness and floated scattered on the water surface.

Who's going to talk nicely to you? Let's have a fight first.

Only after it hurts can we negotiate properly.

With the help of the Golduck and Azumarill that came from the Breeding House as backup, Lucas led them in an attack against the Tentacool and Tentacruel that had occupied all the channels on the water.

Some Trainers on the shore were also providing moral support to Lucas and his team.

However, there were too many jellyfish. Just as Lucas was preparing to retreat to the shore...

A violent bolt of lightning suddenly streaked across the sky, knocking out a large swarm of jellyfish.

The Tentacruel stopped their movements and looked above Lucas's head.

Tentacruel: ————

Feeling the wind from the flapping wings above his head, Lucas sat on the Brother's back.

"Can we talk properly now?"

Tentacruel: ————

Did it dare say no?

It glanced at the other Tentacruel beside it that had lost consciousness because of that Thunder just now.

It nodded, knowing when to yield.

We can negotiate, we can negotiate.

Gengar glanced up and greeted them with a grin.

"Gen Gengar!—"

Hello there.

Articuno looked at Lucas below, feeling a bit speechless.

Didn't you say there was a Team Galactic squad? Where are they? Why is it just a bunch of jellyfish?

Moltres nodded to Gothitelle and gave a greeting.

On the shore, Jenny saw this and sighed.

As expected of you, Lucas, you directly called the The Legendary Birds over.

The other Trainers were dumbfounded as they saw the The Legendary Birds quietly flying in the sky behind Lucas.

Lucas—you're incredible! (voice cracks)

In the end, under Lucas's harmonious communication, the Tentacruel and the others would leave tomorrow.

Of course, Lucas and the others didn't push things too far. Every year during their migration, they could rest on the sea near the harbor, but they couldn't harm people or Pokémon passing by.

Tentacruel stole a glance out of the corner of its eye at the The Legendary Birds chatting with Gengar and quickly nodded.

Returning to the shore, Lucas stretched.

"Sister Reese, it's all set."

Jenny gestured with her eyes for Lucas to look behind him.

Lucas turned around and found the The Legendary Birds staring intently at him.

Lucas looked at Gengar, who had mixed in with them and was also staring intently at him.

He pointed a finger, "He taught me."

Gengar:?!

Are you even human?!

Lucas grinned, "Don't be mad. I'll make you something delicious when we get back to the Breeding House. I promise to call you the moment I see anyone from Team Galactic next time."

This move is called bribery.

Moltres and the others looked at each other and nodded.

After all, he was always helping them look for members of Team Galactic. It was only right for them to step in and help him solve some matters.

Articuno let out a couple of cries.

A sentence surfaced in Lucas's heart.

You can call us if something happens, and we'll help you, but don't forget to help us find traces of Team Galactic.

Lucas nodded to show his understanding.

Then the The Legendary Birds nodded, flapped their wings, and left.

After leaving the remaining matters to Jenny, Lucas took Gengar and the others and left the harbor.
