Chapter 41 - Demon Sword vs. Gun

"I'm alive?" Sawamura Spencer Eriri was overjoyed to have survived the ordeal.

"Someone blocked a bullet with a sword?" Kasumigaoka Utaha was stunned, even stopping her secret attempt to cut the ropes binding her.

Even without any knowledge of firearms, she understood that throwing a sword to block a bullet mid-flight was almost impossible.

At least, it was impossible for an ordinary human.

Within ten paces, a gun is fast and accurate—that's no joke.

The kidnapper flew into a rage. "Who the—"

Before he could finish, a figure stormed into the broadcasting room like a bolt of lightning.

Bang!

The black-hooded kidnapper didn't even have time to react before he felt a terrifying force slam into him.

He was sent flying instantly, crashing hard into the broadcasting room wall.

Pfft!

The kidnapper spat out a mouthful of bizarre black blood and slumped to the ground.

As the black blood hit the floor, it corroded holes into the hard surface.

Faintly, one could see disgusting, ugly insects wriggling within it.

The other two kidnappers tried to raise their guns, but the figure appeared before them in an instant.

Boom!

A terrifying force akin to a speeding train hit them. The two kidnappers experienced the same pain their boss had just suffered.

With a single strike, every bone in their bodies shattered.

Spewing bizarre black blood, they flew backward just like their leader, smashing violently against the broadcasting room wall.

"So strong." Eriri and the late-arriving Kato Megumi were dumbfounded.

Was this the combat power an ordinary person should have?

After effortlessly wiping out the kidnappers, Kawashima Toya turned to Eriri and Utaha. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine." Utaha shook her head blankly, still recovering from the shock.

The speed and strength Toya had just displayed were far beyond what a normal human could achieve.

If he wanted to, he could probably punch a massive hole right through the broadcasting room wall.

Toya looked at Kato Megumi, who had regained her composure. "Kato-san, please untie Sawamura-san."

"I'll untie Kasumigaoka."

With that, Toya walked over to Utaha and began untying the ropes binding her.

Utaha finally snapped out of it. Her wine-red eyes sparkled, and a blush rose on her beautiful, seductive face. "Kawashima, you know what?"

"You looked so cool saving the damsel in distress just now."

"I'm almost falling for you."

The sense of security in that moment was something no one else could provide; only he could offer it.

Toya glanced at Utaha indifferently. "Do you think I believe that?"

Who was Kasumigaoka Utaha? The famous Fatty Kasumi, known for her sharp tongue and sarcasm.

If he naively believed her, he'd probably be mocked for quite a while.

One of the three great illusions of life: She likes me...

After saving Utaha and Eriri, Toya was about to head to the auditorium to rescue the other survivors.

Before leaving, he glanced at the kidnappers.

"Not dead?"

The flesh on the kidnappers' bodies was wriggling and healing like a mass of insects, sending a wave of intense disgust through him.

Although the healing speed was slow, Toya was certain they were recovering.

His deduction was correct; these three kidnappers would be fully healed in three hours.

At this moment, Utaha also noticed the anomaly with the three kidnappers. She leaned close to Toya's ear and whispered:

"Just now, the leader took out a very disgusting insect and tried to force Eriri to eat it."

"And he mentioned something about me and Eriri being 'Chosen Ones'."

"These kidnappers seem to be related to the minions of an Evil God."

"I know!" Toya nodded slightly. "I'll deal with them."

He would never mistake the characteristics of an Evil God.

These three kidnappers were definitely connected to an Evil God's minion.

Toya picked up the Demon Sword Murasame and walked straight toward the Evil God's pawns.

Mystic Eyes of Death Perception

In an instant, the world filled with Points and Lines of Death reappeared.

Toya clearly saw the black aura entwining the kidnappers—it was indeed the aura of an Evil God.

Although it was diluted to a negligible wisp, it still possessed effects unimaginable to ordinary people.

However, this negligible wisp of Evil God aura carried terrifying negative effects.

Anyone tainted by it would be branded with the mark of the Evil God, gradually transforming from a normal person into a twisted, raving lunatic.

This pollution was extremely difficult to remove. Once tainted, the only possible outcome was falling into depravity and becoming a minion of the Evil God.

"Die completely." Toya didn't give these heinous criminals a chance to revive. He struck their Points of Death directly.

In an instant, the kidnappers and the Evil God's aura were thoroughly killed by Toya.

As the Evil God's aura died, the kidnappers' bodies gradually reverted to their original forms.

Even though they had been beaten to pieces by Toya, they retained their human appearance in the end.

Eriri witnessed the entire scene, covering her mouth in shock.

Today, she had seen the other side of the world.

A cruel, terrifying, and bone-chilling other side of the world.
