Chapter 55 - The Bun Girl's Joy Turns to Sorrow

Hearing that Yukinoshita Yukino wanted to go home, Yuigahama Yui quickly grabbed her. "Yukinon, we finally managed to come out together. Why are you in such a rush to go home?"

"You live alone in your apartment anyway. Going back just means being alone."

"Wouldn't it be nice to have a lively lunch here?"

"Besides, the little Yuki-Onna and Yusa are here too!"

Yukino thought for a moment. Unable to withstand Yui's persistence, she agreed to stay.

For a time, the lobby became lively again. Yui started listing dish names endlessly, like she was ordering at a restaurant.

Because of the number of people, Kawashima Toya stopped what he was doing and watched Yui order with interest.

Not long after, Yui stopped and said excitedly, "There are so many friends today, so of course we need a lot of food."

"Yeah, I think so too."

Toya's handsome face showed full agreement as he handed his phone to the puzzled Yui. "Here, take it. Ordering is up to you."

"Remember to pay the bill."

"Don't pretend you have no money. You still owe me the one hundred thousand yen commission fee."

"Eh?!!" Yui looked at Toya pitifully, hoping he would give her a few days' grace.

But she only received Toya's smiling rejection. In the end, she could only start ordering with a bitter face.

"Mean Kawashima. Can't you give me even a little time?"

"Just treat it as buying everyone a meal."

Seeing the message on the phone indicating successful payment, Yui slumped in her chair dejectedly, looking soulless.

She kept murmuring, "One hundred thousand yen, all gone. I'm doomed."

"I have to figure out how to save on living expenses next week."

The little Yuki-Onna watched curiously as Yui stopped moving, signaling her sister to check on her.

Seeing this, Yusa said gently, "Big Sister Yuigahama is just a bit tired. She needs to rest properly."

Toya poked Yui gently. "Stop pretending to faint."

"Why not look on the bright side? One hundred thousand yen for a big feast—think of it as a beautiful way to go out!"

Yui turned her head, her clear eyes looking at Toya pitifully. "But I'm definitely going to starve this month."

"It's fine. Your figure can afford to starve a little."

Toya said matter-of-factly, "You probably think you've gained a bit of weight too. Just consider this period a diet."

"I don't want to diet!" Recalling the pain of past diets, Yui covered her head and cried, "Absolutely no dieting!"

She had thought about dieting before, but that thought had faded after just one day.

The feeling of starvation was too painful; she never wanted to feel hungry again in her life.

Toya didn't say anything more. Yui was suffering enough, and if he continued to make her suffer, someone else wouldn't be happy.

To the side, Yukino sighed. "Yuigahama-san, if it's really difficult, I can help you tide over the difficulties temporarily."

Yui was a member of the Service Club. Since Yukino had the ability to help her through hard times, she could naturally offer this small favor.

Hearing this, Yui's dejection vanished instantly. She exclaimed in surprise, "Yukinon, you're the best!"

As she spoke, Yui glared at Toya. "Kawashima is the worst."

"Yeah, the worst." Toya smiled insincerely. "Please retract that statement immediately, Yuigahama-san. Otherwise, if you encounter danger in the future, I might hesitate."

"I'm very sorry! I misspoke just now!" Yui admitted defeat honestly, not daring to badmouth Toya anymore.

Toya crossed his arms, quite satisfied. "That's more like it!"

Of course, what he said was false.

If Yui were truly in danger, he certainly wouldn't leave her to die.

Even hesitating for a second could lead to irreversible consequences.

Ten minutes later, a delivery vehicle carrying Yui's order arrived.

Exquisite and delicious dishes were served one after another, soon filling the dining table.

Just as Toya was eating, a message flew down from beyond the sky.

After receiving the message, the Yuki-Onna Yusa's expression changed suddenly.

Everyone presents noticed the Yuki-Onna's anomaly.

"Did something happen?" Toya asked with concern.

"The Great Onmyoji Abe no Seimei is dead!"

Yusa said with utmost gravity.

As soon as these words came out, the atmosphere in the entire lobby changed.

Yui, who had been happily eating her lunch, stopped and asked incredulously:

"Didn't he die a thousand years ago?"

The girls nodded in agreement.

Abe no Seimei died?

As Japan's greatest Onmyoji, Abe no Seimei had died a thousand years ago.

This was written in Japanese history. How could he have lived until now?

Kasumigaoka Utaha, Yukino, and Yui all fell into a misunderstanding.

Living in the everyday world for so long made them subconsciously ignore that this world contained mysteries.
