Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

The city of Elvami was a relatively peaceful place, where a plentiful population of people cohabitated, both alphas, betas and omegas.

It was founded at a very advantageous location next to the sea that brought in much needed revenue for the fast developing infrastructure.

On the surface all was well with politicians and security agencies working hard to keep crime at bay, but only those who dove deep into matters could see the extent of corruption and illegal dealings that happened below the surface.

In truth this town was worked by the Golden Lions, a mafia that preferred to work undercover than in plain sight, they held the true power.

And in any criminal organization there was a hierarchy, with big players at the top, and people who would fall prey to their decision and schemes at the bottom.

On a chilly night a black car parked beside an average looking house, it was already past midnight and the neighborhood was quiet, each house's lights were either switched off or covered with curtains or blinds.

Several men stepped out of the van, all dressed in black suits and dark shades that blended them easily into the night, they walked quietly up to the house in front of them and professionally cracked open the door.

They trooped into the house and began to look around, the kitchen was a mess and the television in the living room was still on even though all the lights were turned off.

The men looked at each other in understanding and split up to cover more ground, one of them was quick to draw their attention when he found a middle aged man asleep on the couch surrounded by bottles of beer.

"Bastard still has the audacity to drink, tie him up" the oldest ordered.

The man was immediately tied to the couch and woken by a bucket of water being splashed onto his face.

The man coughed dryly, and noticed he was tied down to a chair, suddenly sober with panic he began to scream "who's there?! Who are you people?!"

The lights in the living room were turned on and the men all turned to look at him.

"You are Mr Donnie, correct?" One of the men asked.

The man in question was struck dumb he could only shiver from the obvious dominance that emanated from the men and the cold of his drenched clothes.

"We are here to collect the debt you've accumulated over the past few months."

The man's eyes blew wide as he struggled to speak "I-I don't have the mo-"

Before he could finish he was punched harshly across the face.

"Spare us the excuses, you are owing so much, you sleazy bastard!"

The man spat out blood and began to cry out pathetically "please give me more time, I'll... I'll get the money somehow, please, don't kill me!"

The men in suits looked at one another and began to laugh, one stepped forward and glared at him "cover his mouth and beat the shit out of him, let's teach him a good lesson."

The men did as told and got to work, in less than thirty minutes the living was filled with sounds of muffled cries.

"That's enough I don't think you want to kill him, yet" a sultry female voice said as the sound of heels got closer.

All the men in the room easily recognized it and stood at attention, the crying man breathed in relief before shivering from the addition of another oppressive aura.

No one dared to turn their heads as a tall woman came into sight, she wore a fitted white suit and solid heels, her expression was calm and very relaxed in contrast to the tense atmosphere.

"You boys work very quick" she smiled lazily and took the seat across from the bondaged man.

All the men who seemed to have so much confidence in themselves a while ago hush down immediately, they lined up professionally, no longer daring to act out of character.

"Mr Donnie, pardon my late entry, I was a bit caught up, My name is Jacintha Hovers, nice to meet you..." she paused and glared at one of the other men who immediately moved to harshly tear off the piece of tape from the man's mouth.

Jacintha put on an apologetic smile "sorry about that, you must have alot to say, especially about the money you're owing."

The man was in tears again "please give me time, I'll give you the money."

The woman's smile strained and the tension thickened "I'm afraid that's not possible, your time limit has elapsed... completely, isn't that sad?" Her fake empathy only made the man cry harder "we might just have to kill you as an example."

The man fearfully watched as the woman stood and reached for her gun "Please, more time I beg you."

She watched him cry and wail until something caught her eyes, on the wall was an undamaged antique picture frame of a young man, dressed in bright summer clothes smiling gently.

Jacintha couldn't help but reach for it to have a closer look "is this your son? He's an omega right?" She smiled.

The man gulped as his eyes widened in horror "pleas-"

"You know I have a thing for pretty boys, tell you what... I'll pay off your dept in full, if you hand over your son to me."

The man shook his head "I can't, he's my only child."

"From the look of it your wife is no longer with you, so no one will jugde you, I may not even tell your son it was you who sold him" Jacintha smirked "I truly am generous, right?" she laughed at her self praise as the other men answered "very generous boss" in response.

"Please no, I will get the money."

"I will kill you, right here, right now, and still take your son, it will make no difference to me, choose wisely" Jacintha threatened while intently looking at the framed photo, she wanted to personally play with this new toy soon.

Mr Donnie looked down miserably before nodding his head "Chalce, his name is Chalce, he's schooling at the all omega college near the city library."

The room was quite for a while until Mr Donnie felt himself being set free.

"Truly this world is filled with despicable people, selling your son because of your foolish mistakes, how pathetic, but don't worry, I'll be sure to take care of him."

All the men watched as Jacintha left the house, taking the framed picture with her "clean things up here" she ordered.

The city was seemingly lifeless as she drove back to her home.

With the photo still in her hand she entered the elevator and punched the passcode to her own penthouse, when she got out her maid immediately came to usher her in by taking her coat and shoes.

"Greetings madam, how was your day?" The maid greeted as she ran around to place everything in order.

Jacintha sat on her widest couch and shrugged tiredly, "same as usual" she yawned.

"Would you like to eat?"

"No."

The maid understood and didn't push, being obedient was the only way she could pay off her mother's dept.

There was silence before the alpha spoke up "Tira, today I got a toy."

The maid, Tira, knew that this was how her boss chose to start conversations so she asked "a toy?"

"Yes, a toy, one of our former clients sold me his son, I will be bringing him home very soon."

Tira moved subtly take a look at the frame, it was definitely a picture of young male and the way her boss kept staring at it was... strange, she couldn't guess what type of toy he was going to be.

"I'll get everything ready" she bowed before leaving.

Jacintha didn't bother looking her way, she put the frame down on the center table carefully before lighting up a cigarette "I like the blue in his eyes."
