Lina's POV
My feet were moving so fast I nearly tripped over the hem of my dress as I sprinted down the hallway, away from Louis's quarters.
My heart was pounding against my ribs like a trapped bird. What the hell was that? What completely came over me back there?
The sheer embarrassment of the situation was hitting me in waves, making my stomach twist. Just a few hours ago, I had used his arranged marriage as an excuse to push him away, drawing a hard line between us. Then, the very next minute, I was acting like a total whore, desperately clinging to his shoulders and riding the friction of his hips like he was the oxygen I needed to breathe.
I stopped by a tall arched window in the corridor, my hands shaking as I smoothed out my hair and adjusted my collar. I took a few deep breaths, praying that none of the guards or servants would notice my completely flushed face or the slight swelling of my lips.
