Louis's POV
I watched the conflict play out across her face, my hands still framing her jaw. She was completely caught off guard, her lips parted slightly as she scrambled to find the right words to say.
I could see the pain buried deep behind her eyes, no matter how hard she tried to hide it. It hurt more than I wanted to admit, seeing her look this vulnerable, this fractured. It made me want to ruin the people who caused her so much pain.
Lina's jaw tightened, and she opened her mouth to speak, but I didn't give her the chance. I couldn't. I knew she didn't feel the same way about me yet, and honestly, I couldn't bear to hear her say the words out loud.
So I leaned down and quickly sealed her lips with mine, cutting off her reply.
