Chapter 115 - Chapter 115

The two must have lost their sense of direction because they were completely lost now. It was dark already and there were very few first years in the vicinity probably because they had found the dorms. Julian kept looking at Lyren who did not for a moment meet his eye. Then he stopped abruptly.

"Do you know we might be misusing our brains?" Julian asked and Lyren stopped and he got deep in thoughts too. "The road we branched to go to the female quarters. The other one must lead to the male quarters…"

Lyren facepalmed. That was true. Had they not been 'molested' it was possible they could have caught on it sooner. He nodded and now they had to find the path to the dorms but they had strayed away so much such that every building now seemed to be familiar.

"The amphitheater!" Lyren said and they decided to look for the amphitheater first.

It took diligence to find it and they did. They then followed the path to where they had branched and they took the opposite path. There were no more first years and the seniors had already started showing themselves. The seniors could be heard laughing when they saw the two carrying their clothes. It was often times that some did not even sleep in the dorms but this time, many first years had found their way and had settled already. To find the two strays was a great find.

The two hunched their backs as they went on. The dorms were not labelled too and they had to look from dorm to dorm and they could tell that these were not the special quarters. It was a while later that they came to a more isolated part and they could guess that these were the special quarters.

They were in a higher ground and they were not as large as the rest. When they entered the first dorm, they saw that it was to be shared by only four people each. There were already first years in each and it was not long before they came to the likes of Alvin who mocked them. The two were already tired to even feel anymore shame so they took it all.

Julian was the first to find his dorm and Lyren found his later. He walked in and the seniors he found here were already planning to sleep. The dorms had four room each with everyone having their own names written on top of the entrance. There was a living room with few chairs and a table if you could call it that and then four doors that led to different rooms.

This was the luxury of the academy. To think that they would do this much for the A grade talents. Lyren opened the door to his room and I was not as large but there were a wooden bed and a closet. He sighed as he dropped his belongings on the bed and lay on it.

He closed his eyes and he felt the sleep attacking him but he was immediately woken up by the churning in his stomach. He had been too tired to realize that he was still hungry and the moment he relaxed, his stomach reminded him. He stood up weakly with hands on his belly and he opened the door and went to the one next to his and knocked.

It took a while and when it opened, a guy stood at the entrance and almost glared.

"Where do people have supper?" Lyren asked and he was not ready for the reply. First cam e a mock laughter and then a reply that felt like cold water had been poured on him.

"People ate almost two hours ago. Where were you? You have to wait for breakfast."

The door was slammed on his face and Lyren felt like shedding real tears. He dragged his feet back to his room and pushed the door open with his head and closed it with his back and leaned on it before he walked himself to the bed. He lay there facing the wall and fantasizing about food and his time in the ruins where he did not have to eat or drink for over a year.

He closed his eyes and swallowed hard as his stomach churned once more. It was a while later that he fell asleep but he woke up in the middle of the night with a burning stomach. He rolled on the bed and it was an agonizing moment as he tried to fall asleep again. He woke up several times and when he fell asleep again, he woke up and it was already morning.

Birds chirped and there was light in his house. He walked out and saw the last night guy seated on one of the chairs and he spoke weakly.

"What do people have for breakfast?" he asked and the senior stared at him for a long time before he replied.

"You really are something. If you are that hungry, how could you sleep through breakfast? Stop trolling me first year," the guy said and leaned on the chair. Lyren almost fell on his knees and he walked back to his room. What was happening? How could he have strayed away from supper and slept through breakfast? Someone was definitely responsible and it was himself who took all that credit.

He lay on the bed once again and tried to sleep as he waited for lunch time. Time dragged on and his body no longer felt like his own. Noon came and Lyren walked out but there were no seniors to tell him where the dining hall was. He walked out and when he stood at the door, he looked around and there was no one.

He fell on his knees an he looked in the skies with pleading eyes. He stood up slowly and it was just when he was about to leave and look for the dining hall that he heard a door open and when he looked that way, he saw a frail Julian stumble out.

Their eyes met and it was obvious to them that they had missed both meals. They could not afford to miss lunch at all. Lyren walked that way and when he reached Julian, he realized that Julian was having it even rougher.

His hair was a mess and he was wearing his glasses upside down had Lyren not pointed it out, Julian might have not even realized it. They did not speak much and they only had one thought running through their mind.

Lunch!

They walked outside and looked at the direction with people but there were none. Not even first years. They could only walk downwards in search for the dinning hall and it was one agonizing journey as they looked from room to room searching for food but they were unlucky. It was as thought they had all agreed to stay away from these two.

The two now were supporting each other by the shoulder and they did not even know where they were going. Hunger took over and they sat by the side of the pavement as pain was written all over their faces. The glanced at each other and they made a crying face as they saw people now coming from a certain direction.

They scrambled on their feet as they started walking that way. They bumped into those who were standing in their way and they ended up being pushed aside. They had not even the strength and they were forced to wait for everyone to pass so that they could go to the dining hall.

They reached the entrance but two chefs were already closing the huge doors. Wherever the energy to run came from was not important in the moment as they ran down the stairs and stood at the entrance that was now closed.

The two started banging the door as they slid down and leaned on it weakly. There was no more strength in them as they closed their eyes on the verge of passing out as the doors behind them opened and their heads hit the stone below forcing them awake.
