Chapter 1 - Are My Starters… the Three Gods of Hoenn?!

The Pokémon World

The Hoenn League

Littleroot Town

A town said to have never been stained by any color.

It was also the birthplace of the protagonists in multiple Pokémon games—Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and even later fan-favorite versions like Pokémon: Dark Rising-style adaptations.

But for Aiden Flint, this place marked the beginning of a completely new adventure.

Aiden had originally been an ordinary man from Earth—someone who loved the Pokémon franchise to an almost obsessive degree. Anime, games, manga… he had experienced them all. Just a few days ago, he'd finally cleared a notoriously difficult Emerald-based mod.

And then—

In the very next moment after clearing the game, his world turned black.

When he woke up again, he had already transmigrated into the Pokémon world, becoming an orphan living in Littleroot Town, Hoenn.

Well… so be it.

Since I'm here, I might as well live properly.

Looking at his reflection in the mirror, Aiden felt genuine joy rising in his chest.

Eighteen years old.

A young body that was unmistakably his—but far younger than before.

Back on Earth, he'd been well into his thirties. A worn-down office worker, average health at best, plagued by all kinds of minor but persistent problems. Fatigue, aches, the constant drain of daily life.

But now?

Youth. Vitality. Endless potential.

To be honest, this was a massive win.

Not only had he returned to his physical prime, but he'd also been reborn into the Pokémon world—the world he loved most.

Perfect health. Extended lifespan. A second life.

At this point, Aiden had nothing to complain about.

Naturally, since he'd transmigrated, his first thought was to meet Pokémon he loved, travel with them, challenge Gyms, take on the League, and walk the path toward becoming the strongest Pokémon Trainer.

Just like Ash Ketchum.

But there was a problem.

A very serious one.

He had no starter Pokémon.

Professor Birch lived in Littleroot Town and was responsible for distributing Hoenn's starter trio—Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip.

But Aiden was just an orphan.

No stable income. No backing. That was exactly why, even at eighteen, he still hadn't begun his journey. He stayed in town, helping residents with odd jobs in exchange for food, items, or small amounts of money—just enough to survive.

If it weren't for the kindness of Littleroot Town's residents, he wouldn't have even made it this far.

And this year's new Trainers had already received their starter Pokémon.

Even if Aiden wanted to leave on a journey now, Professor Birch likely didn't have any starters left to give.

"…This is troublesome."

Aiden sighed, glancing around his home—a simple, shabby house that could honestly be described as barely furnished.

No starter.

No money.

Even after transmigrating, without a Pokémon, he couldn't leave Littleroot Town.

The reason was obvious.

Without a Pokémon partner, encountering a wild Pokémon outside town would be a death sentence. A human body alone couldn't stand up to wild Pokémon in battle.

One wrong step, and he'd be killed.

This wasn't Pallet Town, and he certainly wasn't some legendary "strongest rookie" who could fight Pokémon barehanded.

If Aiden tried to leave now, he might make it out of town—but he definitely wouldn't make it back alive.

And without even starting his journey, how could he ever dream of becoming the world's strongest Trainer?

Just as Aiden was sinking into despair—

A clear, crisp voice suddenly echoed in his mind.

"Transmigrator Aiden Flint detected. System… binding in progress."

"Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining the God-Tier Selection System."

"System has detected the host's concern regarding starter Pokémon and travel funds."

"Newcomer Gift Pack has been issued."

"Would the host like to open it immediately?"

Aiden froze for a split second.

Then—

Ecstasy surged through him.

A system?

A transmigrator perk?

That was basically standard protagonist treatment!

Exactly what he needed had arrived at the perfect moment.

Without hesitation, Aiden spoke in his mind:

"God-Tier Selection System—open the Newcomer Gift Pack immediately!"

"Ding! Newcomer Gift Pack opened."

"God-Tier Selection System officially bound."

"Host: Aiden Flint. Identity confirmed. Cannot be changed."

"The Newcomer Gift Pack contains the following three choices:"

Choice One: Select the Green Orb.

Obtain the Sky Dragon, Rayquaza, plus 1,000,000 Poké Dollars, 1 Master Ball, and 5 Luxury Balls.

Choice Two: Select the Blue Orb.

Obtain the Sea God, Kyogre, plus 800,000 Poké Dollars, 1 Master Ball, and 5 Great Balls.

Choice Three: Select the Red Orb.

Obtain the Land God, Groudon, plus 700,000 Poké Dollars, 1 Master Ball, and 5 Poké Balls.

Aiden stared blankly at the three dazzling options in front of him.

"…What kind of starter lineup is this?"

The Three Gods of Hoenn?!

Under normal circumstances, Hoenn Trainers received Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip as their starters—already powerful Pokémon with incredible final evolutions and massive popularity.

But even those starters were usually reserved for Trainers backed by the Pokémon League, trusted by Professors, or born into elite families.

Take Steven Stone, the former Champion of Hoenn—his starter Pokémon was a Shiny Beldum, a pseudo-legendary from the very beginning.

As for someone like Aiden?

An orphan with no background?

In a normal world, he'd end up as a Bug Catcher, living an unremarkable life and becoming nothing more than background scenery for true powerhouses.

Originally, Aiden had planned to catch something like a Caterpie, relying on the Bug-type's fast evolution to survive the early stages of his journey.

But now—

With the God-Tier Selection System?

His fate had been completely overturned.

At the very least, he no longer needed to gamble his life just to obtain his first ordinary Pokémon.

From this moment onward, possessing a Legendary Pokémon, Aiden was destined to stand among the absolute top tier of this world.

Even if—for now—he only had one.

Taking a deep breath, Aiden calmed himself and began seriously considering the options.

The Three Gods of Hoenn were legendary even among Pokémon fans.

Groudon, the Land God—often jokingly called "the one that can't fly"—possessed the power to tear continents apart and create land anew. A Ground-type Legendary tied to immense destructive force.

Kyogre, Groudon's eternal rival—mockingly nicknamed "the flying whale"—a pure Water-type, ruler of the seas, locked in endless life-and-death battles with Groudon.

And then there was Rayquaza.

The Sky God.

A Dragon/Flying-type Legendary who dwelled in the ozone layer.

Whenever Groudon and Kyogre clashed, Rayquaza descended to suppress them both.

When extraterrestrial Pokémon threatened the planet, Rayquaza was the one who rose to defend it.

One against two.

That alone spoke volumes about its strength.

In terms of base stats, both Groudon and Kyogre totaled 670, while Rayquaza stood even higher at 680.

And if one considered the anime—

Especially Shiny Mega Rayquaza, which once fought multiple Legendary Pokémon at once—

The choice was practically made.

As for Poké Ball tiers and Poké Dollars?

In front of a Legendary Pokémon, those differences were trivial. Any of these amounts would allow Aiden to live comfortably for a long time.

"…Then, System," Aiden said slowly,

"I choose—"
