Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 -- Enlightenment in the Snow Mountain

The African continent had always been synonymous with savagery and primitiveness.

Even before the Great Nirvana Era—when modern civilization still stood at its peak—human development here had been thin and fragmented. After the Great Nirvana, the last sparks of civilization were swiftly extinguished by mutated monsters. The continent returned completely to a world ruled by jungle law, where monster hordes roamed freely and strength alone determined survival.

The fragile standoff that now existed between humans and monsters was not born of equality, but compromise.

It was the result of an agreement jointly imposed by Hong, Thunder God, and numerous King-level monsters.

In truth, humanity stood at a disadvantage.

In a true one-on-one confrontation, no land-based monster could contend with Hong—not even the two Emperor-level monsters ruling the oceans, who could only barely resist him by relying on the marine environment. However, strength alone could not solve everything. Humanity possessed only a handful of Councilors, while King-level monsters numbered in the dozens.

Thus, compromise became inevitable.

One clause of that agreement was clear: Hong and Thunder God could not engage in large-scale hunting of King-level monsters, and King-level monsters could not openly attack human base cities.

This did not mean that Councilors were forbidden from killing King-level monsters. The true purpose of the agreement was restraint—specifically, restraining Hong and Thunder God. As long as all Councilors did not mobilize simultaneously, individual conflicts and even killings were tacitly permitted.

The Flame Lion King was one of the earliest King-level monsters born during the Great Nirvana Era.

Among his peers, his reputation was notorious.

In terms of raw strength, he was equivalent to a Speaker-level existence within the War God Palace. A capital city had once fallen under his command. Yet what truly cemented his infamy was not conquest—but cruelty.

He devoured humans.

After breaching that nation's capital, he led his subordinate monsters in a prolonged massacre, nearly wiping out the entire human population.

The roots of this hatred traced back to before the Great Nirvana. His original pack had been slaughtered by poachers. He alone survived, captured alive and raised as a pet. It was only during the chaos of the RR virus outbreak that he found an opportunity to escape.

Hatred had fermented for decades.

At this moment, the Flame Lion King lay beneath a towering tree, lazily resting after a routine patrol of his territory.

His body stretched seven to eight meters long and nearly five meters tall. Even lying prone, he resembled a small hill.

Suddenly—

His eyes snapped open.

Killing intent surged.

From the distant horizon, a smart fighter jet approached, decelerating smoothly before stopping not far above him. The cabin door opened, and a lone human figure stepped out.

Bai Yue.

The Flame Lion King rose, flames licking across his mane as his gaze locked onto the intruder. No words were exchanged.

He moved first.

Stepping through the air, his massive body surged upward. His right claw ignited in violent flames and smashed down with overwhelming force. The heat alone was enough to melt metal and stone. Even a Councilor wearing Black God armor would be annihilated by a direct hit.

But his opponent was Bai Yue.

The Hun Yuan Staff unfolded.

The staff shadow collided head-on with the flaming claw. With a deafening impact, the Flame Lion King was blasted back toward the ground.

Boom.

His enormous body struck the earth like a meteor, carving out a deep crater and sliding dozens of meters before stopping.

Though battered, he rose again.

The flames around his body intensified, spreading across his entire form. Vegetation ignited instantly. His rage was unmistakable.

"Just broke through to Planetary Level Stage Three," Bai Yue said calmly. "You'll do as a test subject."

Before the Flame Lion King could counterattack, Bai Yue raised his staff and brought it down with explosive force.

The Lion King dodged.

The staff smashed into the ground.

It was as if a meteor had struck—soil erupted, shockwaves rippled outward, and the surrounding terrain collapsed inward.

Seizing the opening, the Flame Lion King charged again.

Bai Yue braced, holding the staff horizontally.

Impact.

He was driven backward, crashing straight through the massive tree the Lion King had been resting beneath. The trunk shattered instantly.

"So you do have some strength," Bai Yue remarked.

This time, he no longer held back.

His Gravity Domain–like ability activated.

In an instant, the gravitational force acting on the Flame Lion King multiplied. His massive body froze mid-motion, pinned as if crushed beneath an invisible mountain.

The staff descended.

A single, precise strike.

The Flame Lion King's skull visibly caved in.

Bai Yue halted in midair. There was no need for a follow-up. The previous blow had already destroyed the monster's brain.

Below him, the flames flickered, dimmed, and finally extinguished. The massive body twitched once… then fell completely still.

The battle was over.

And it had cost Bai Yue almost nothing.

This was already his second month of travel.

After processing the plant spirits harvested on Mist Island, Bai Yue had returned to Australia and continued his journey. Over the past month, he wandered across the continent—visiting the ruins of the Sydney Opera House, gazing upon the Great Barrier Reef, and standing before Uluru.

He witnessed the remnants of human splendor and the untouched majesty of nature.

Gradually, the constant tension in his heart began to loosen.

Since awakening memories of his past life, Bai Yue had lived like a drawn bowstring—never relaxing, never slowing, relentlessly forcing himself forward.

This journey had begun with utilitarian intent. He had hoped to temper himself, to comprehend his own Domain through battle and experience.

But it failed.

His mind remained tense. Every destination felt like a task. He arrived hurriedly and left just as fast.

Only after leaving Australia and stepping onto African soil did he begin to realize the problem.

On Earth, martial technique comprehension was divided into Basic, Subtle, Perfect, and Conception.

Bai Yue had long surpassed Conception.

Yet Conception was not the end.

Hong's Domain was proof of that. Among all Earth's experts, only Hong had truly stepped beyond. Even Thunder God had yet to cross that threshold.

To comprehend a Domain at the Planetary Level was considered monstrous talent in the wider universe. Any major power would eagerly recruit such a person. At minimum, they would become a Sector Lord—provided they survived.

Bai Yue had perfected Conception by absorbing and restructuring the insights of countless secret manuals, ultimately forging the Hun Yuan Staff.

After that…

There was nowhere left to go.

Through conversations with Hong and study of ancient sages' writings, he finally grasped the prerequisites for Domain comprehension.

Ancient martial philosophy emphasized unity—mind and intent, intent and qi, qi and strength, inner yin and outer yang—until internal and external fused into one.

Only then could one achieve unity between Heaven and Man.

When that resonance aligned with the world itself, a Domain was born.

The Hun Yuan Staff already fulfilled the first condition—total unification of body, will, and energy.

What blocked him was the second.

As a transmigrator, he was inherently out of sync with this world.

If he could not reconcile that dissonance, true unity with Heaven and Earth would remain forever out of reach.
