Chapter 298 - Chapter 298: Escaping Alive!

"Who was it… just… who was it…!"

Raven was already on the verge of collapse as he shouted toward the clouds.

Naturally, Raven could tell from such a scene that these dried corpses were far too strange, making one's heart involuntarily freeze.

Raven rushed out of the room, and suddenly the ground began trembling. Fierce winds swept together dark clouds, while the ocean also began violently surging, with massive waves rising turbulently!

---◓---

"What… what is happening!?" Catherine steadied herself and asked.

"Not sure… let's look at the Dragon Force."

At this moment, Tetsuya mounted RaDittash and headed toward the direction of the fissure.

Not long after, he saw that the cracks had already spread outward. Now the entire Dragon Force had been destroyed.

By all logic, there should still have been at least two more months remaining. It seemed his act of burning the forest had already affected the Dragon Force. Now this island was truly in danger.

The sudden earthquake and tsunami caused all the Pokémon to stop fighting. They all stared toward the ocean and sky as an oppressive atmosphere shrouded the entire island.

Tetsuya and Catherine once again arrived above the island and saw Raven on his knees in front of the base entrance. At this point, he was already practically useless, but he should still have Pokémon capable of battling.

Tetsuya and Catherine landed at the Laboratory behind the Shadow Team's base.

At that moment, the ground trembling became increasingly evident. Torrential rain descended as expected, while the tsunami raised monstrous waves that slammed against the island. Massive amounts of seawater had already surged up through the cracks in the Dragon Force.

The Flying-types had already flown away long ago. Those remaining were merely Pokémon unable to fly. Even Water-type Pokémon had no way to escape. Against such gigantic waves and whirlpools, perhaps only Kyogre could truly conquer them.

"We don't have much time. We must quickly deal with Raven!"

Tetsuya said.

Catherine nodded and said, "Un, now is the perfect chance for a sneak attack. Hurry and do it!"

The two quietly walked behind Raven's position.

Just as they were preparing to make their move…

Raven suddenly stood up and quietly walked forward, allowing the heavy rain to soak his body. He released Aerodactyl.

"Aerodactyl, you've suffered following me… escape. Out of more than one hundred people on this island, only I remain alive. Among the Pokémon, only you are left as well. The Shadow Team's base is also about to be destroyed… I… I have no excuse left to continue living in this world…"

After Raven finished speaking, he closed his eyes and took out a dagger, preparing to kill himself!

Aerodactyl saw through Raven's intentions and used its wing to knock away the dagger. Afterward, it grabbed Raven and took off into the sky.

"Not good… that fossil is trying to escape!"

After Tetsuya finished speaking, he threw out the Poké Balls of Golurk and Beedrill, while Catherine also threw out Gliscor, Honchkrow, Chatot, and Skarmory Poké Balls all at once.

"Golurk, Gravity!"

Tetsuya gave the command. Aerodactyl, which had just taken flight, suddenly felt a powerful force pressing down upon it. Caught off guard, it immediately crashed back down.

"T-Tetsuya, Catherine, you…"

Raven's thought process was now extremely unstable. The two people he originally believed to have already died had actually appeared before him once again completely unharmed.

"Tehahah… that's right. Raven, we didn't die." Tetsuya smiled slightly.

Even if someone told Raven that the destruction of the entire island was Tetsuya's doing, he would never believe it no matter what. However, it truly had been Tetsuya who had just stopped Aerodactyl's flight, and these Pokémon that suddenly appeared…

"What… You! What do you mean!?"

Raven had already sensed the malicious intentions of these two people and could not help but take two steps backward.

"It means nothing."

Without wasting more words, Tetsuya had already used psychic powers to restrain Raven.

"When did you…!"

Raven's face became ferocious. Only now did he feel just how terrifying Tetsuya truly was. Possessing such an ability while hiding it so deeply, could it be that from the very beginning he had already planned to escape!?

If that were true, then this island…

"No no no no… t-that's impossible! He's only a kid…"

'I really should have killed this monster earlier!

Sō, you truly ruined me…'

The ferocity on Raven's face gradually turned into disbelief, and finally into fear and unwillingness.

Seeing Raven trapped, Aerodactyl tried to rescue him, but with six Pokémon entangling it, there was no opportunity at all to break free.

Raven's face began twisting and deforming!

Finally, his head exploded, and he showed no further signs of life…

After dealing with Raven, Aerodactyl became even more frenzied. The six Pokémon actually could not subdue it.

"Whoaa~ As expected of Raven's strongest Pokémon!"

"It's merely making a final desperate struggle."

After Tetsuya finished speaking, he took Aerodactyl's Poké Ball from Raven's hand.

A flash of red light immediately recalled it into the Poké Ball.

"Hey! We're not fighting anymore!?" Catherine still looked somewhat unsatisfied.

"If we don't leave now, it'll be too late."

After speaking, Tetsuya placed Aerodactyl's Poké Ball into his backpack. Its value was absolutely no less than Dragonair's.

"Go to the food warehouse. We still don't know how far the mainland is from here. We must prepare more food and fresh water."

Tetsuya and Catherine shared the same thoughts, and it was also the most basic necessity.

The supplies in the warehouse were quite abundant. They selected only high-calorie food and Pokéfood, while fresh water completely filled their Spatial Backpacks.

The shaking of the island became increasingly intense, and seawater had already spread upward. Now the Pokémon were all running toward the mountain.

After securing the backpacks onto themselves and tying them firmly with bandages, they fully equipped gloves, hats, glasses, masks, and all other protective gear. Golurk and Skarmory's flying speed was extremely fast. When the hurricane winds struck their faces later, without any protective measures it would definitely be difficult to endure.

Most importantly, there was the compass!

Out on the ocean, there was absolutely no sense of direction. The only thing they could rely on was the compass.

"Let's go!"

After Tetsuya finished speaking, he sent out Golurk.

Catherine nodded and also released Skarmory.

Golurk and Skarmory carried Tetsuya and Catherine as they simultaneously flew into the sky. Tetsuya and Catherine could not help but look back at the island at the same time…

After planning everything here for one and a half years, they were finally leaving. Four and a half entire years within the Shadow Team, too many things had happened. The mainland now must certainly be an entirely different world.

The seawater gradually swallowed the island, and two rays of brilliant light shot out from the deep sea.

"Leave!"

Tetsuya gave the warning, and immediately afterward Golurk and Skarmory rapidly flew toward the designated northern direction.

There was no doubt whatsoever that those two rays of light signaled Kyogre's awakening. If it discovered them, a Legendary Pokémon of such power only needed a single Thunder for Tetsuya and Catherine to be reduced to ashes.

Furthermore, the only direction they could fly now was north. The island's climate was clearly much closer to the Orange Islands or the Hoenn region, since even plants such as arrow trees were capable of surviving here.

"Faster. Faster!"

Tetsuya continuously urged them. Even though the heavy rain had already soaked through their clothes, the dark clouds still covered the sky and torrential rain still poured, proving they had not yet escaped Kyogre's sphere of "influence".

Tetsuya understood more clearly than anyone just how terrifying this Pokémon was. Back then, even the Mega Evolved Pokémon of several elites such as Steven and Alain had been unable to do anything against it, much less his current self.

Catherine also closely followed behind. Although she did not understand the reason, seeing Tetsuya this nervous meant the situation was definitely extraordinary!
